YES. This is like the cursed au but in a realistic way. Like its just like the books but really shows the horrors of having powers. And i love how it cuts to Shadowsight at the end. Love it. Also that you with lionblaze gave me CHILLS. Poor Dovewing got that pushed on her too aaahh~
Finally someone points out just how genuinely crappy Clan life is in modern Warriors. There's a giant villain every other generation, lots of cats have been through multiple things and been tricked and manipulated, it's far different vibe than it was in the first or even second arc, especially since everyone is so aggressive with each other in their own Clan now (mostly ThunderClan is guilty of this).
This really shows the hidden reality of star clan and it’s prophecies/given powers, if your in a prophecy, it’s your destiny, if you don’t complete it/do it, your basically a failure, your constantly under control by it too, people pressure you 10x more, or feel extremely jealous of you. And not to mention, the possible negative side effects of having powers (unable to control one’s strength, feeling others grief and pain, hearing/seeing the deaths of people far away with no way to stop it)
I love this emphasis of how terrible it can be to be part of a prophecy. Lionblaze and Jayfeather pressured and controlled Dovewing way too much especially because her power was so useful. From such a young age, she had to listen to everything they said. Ivypool, too was under such pressure having to literally risk her life every time she had a dream spying on the Dark Forest. She wasn't even a part of the prophecy, yet they gave her a choice evn though it was clear they wanted her to pick spying on the DF. Dove and Ivy couldn't share anything about what was going on with anyone else but the cats in the prophecy, each other, or Firestar. One moment in The Last Hope that really made me said was when it was clear how much Dovewing could barely handle all that she went through and being controlled so much. "Whitewing pressed closer. 'I'm always here if you need me.' Rain began to fleck Dovewing's pelt. Her vision blurred, and she told herself it was just raindrops. 'Thanks, Whitewing,' she whispered." She couldn't even tell her own mother what was going on because she just couldn't to protect the Clan before the Great Battle. I can't imagine what it'd be like to not be able to just confide and have your mother's comfort and support because some Ancient prophecy told you so and you have to hide how you're feeling anyways before you end up spilling everything that's going on.
oh i am in LOVE with this your use of the darker side of the three's powers is something that NO ONE ever talks about & it feels like the books hardly graze over it either. it's such a missed concept but the way you made this fills in those gaps for me, the way each of the three separately struggle with their powers and the prophecy overall. i love the black star symbolism too for hollyleaf 👀 + the fact that dovewing is singing this to shadowsight is so cool! it highlights something that isn't talked about a lot: both dovewing and shadowsight being in some sort of prophecy. dovewing can relate to the feeling of having so much put on you before you even know who you really are and it's SO nicely done! awesome job!!
I always come back to this every so often because it has such a GREAT, much more realistic rendition of the three’s powers (also your expressions are WONDERFUL), and every time it’s been just long enough that the ending with Shadowsight still hits me like a truck every single time too

Dovewing's kid! he has Powers and Prophecy Involvement that leads to a lot of distress, which kills poor Dovewing to see bc she knows how it feels to be dragged into prophecy and have to throw your personal life away and lose stuff bc of some ~greater power~ that doesn't actually care about you THANK YOU SO MUCH
