The reason People who have no interest in sports suddenly are interested is the person Messi is! Brilliant footballer, always articulate, courteous, team player and family man! Never in the press for wrong reasons!

I'm in Australia and all sporting events have a fixed price, that is once they are set, that's it and whether they are deemed to be a sellout or not, the prices stay the same throughout the course of a season and there is NO after sale for profiteering. You can sell bought tickets only for what you paid for so this thing that a venue can manipulate the prices because that particular game will be very popular is just strange and disappointing because how can fans that are not that wealthy supposed to get a chance to see Lio Messi?
But you don't have a sports superstar as big as Lionel Messi playing in any of your sports leagues. You're not paying to watch just any other football match; you're paying to watch the greatest player who ever played football play the game.
He has to be with our national team on the 4th of September for the South American qualifiers, so that's highly likely, especially taking into account that they played on the 23rd and then they play again on the 30th. That's a lot of consecutive games.
@@Lucas_Tulic But consider Argentina win world cup (already qualified for the next world cup) i think Messi probably skip game againts Bolivia, no underestimate but event without Messi Argentina will crush Bolivia .
On that final point…..Messi’s left is his preferred choice….but his right is also good. You’re thinking that he’s only one footed….big mistake. Just a heads up.
Finally! America gets to taste European sporting culture…and I’m not talking about what Messi fires on field. I’m talking about conducting yourself as a magnanimous role model instead of obnoxiously mouthing off about how great you are and twerking on field after scoring. You can see his European teammates, Alba and Busquets are the same, but it’s starting to rub off on their American teammates too. When you’re great but you act with dignity, and respect, it makes you even greater. Why don’t American sports stars get that?
Lol, STFU... Europe should stop throwing bananas on the field, before you talk about class, dignity, sportsmanship. And anyway Messi is from America, from Argentina.
This is unfair. MLS has been growing steadily for 15 years. It went from 10-12 teams with only two soccer specific stadiums to 29 teams (30 next year) with almost all in beautiful, new soccer specific stadiums. Teams have invested heavily into their academies. MLS attendance has grown to the 6th highest in the world. Some teams are valuated at $1b (LAFC). MLS has been doing just fine with this smart and steady growth. We’re all hoping Messi will raise it to the next level. Hopefully, the salary cap increases considerably and better players are brought over. Having Messi and Copa Libertadores, the Club World Cup, and the World Cup over the next three years should be the push we need.

Just stop. The English came up this phrase. They had association football (soccer) and gridiron football (rugby). They called it soccer before.
