Thank you for the tips. I have a smart electric meter now, tells me live how much I am consuming, and clearly my aquariums is a good 300W. Changing to LED from fluorescent lighting on one tank makes a big difference.
Also.... Keep water levels at maximum..... The cold air hitting the heater tube will make it turn on and actually raise the temp of the water.... Possibly too much.

that was my 125 gallon turtle tank before i upgraded them to a 300 stock tank, probably going to sell it, no room
