Now that’s a gorgeous TV, mate. I would absolutely love to have an old crt with dials to do some classic gaming on. However they are so expensive nowadays! It’s still worth the money in the end if you enjoy classic gaming.
I'm curious if we'll ever see CRTs get manufactured, even on a small scale, again. I've definitely seen people talking about how playing older games on them is ideal, and how you can even get some interesting results from playing newer games on them too. It's kind of like listening to a vinyl on a record player, I suppose.
I would LOVE for that to happen! If I had the resources, I would produce my own line of CRT monitors specially designed with retro gaming in mind! With most new TVs now not even having any inputs other than HDMI (when my 49 inch LG broke, I chose a 43 inch Panasonic to replace it, as it was the only big brand 4K flat panel I could find that still had composite AV!), that gives us that much more of a reason for new CRTs to be made! If I could, I would launch my own RetroScreen! RetroScreen would feature: - screen as good as Sony’s Trinitron range (the patent to which has long expired) - 50hz, 60hz, PAL, SECAM and NTSC support - convex screen, so guaranteed to support light guns - available in 14 inch, 21 inch and 27 inch varieties - RF, composite AV and RGB Scart inputs (21 inch and 27 inch variants would each have 2 RGB Scart inputs and S-Video)
The most common flaw you will probably see in older CRTs is convergence separation in the corners where you see the red line separating from the white lines. I have owned and gone through about a dozen CRTs this year alone and every single one had at least some mild convergence issue in the corner (usually the upper right). I did some research and it basically just comes down to age and wear on the magnetic convergence strips where they just start failing after about 15-20 years.
Great video bud. Have you tried any other consoles with the tv? It be interesting to see whether you get that wire mesh effect with something like the SNES or Megadrive.
Same with me, whether I buy them from ebay or a second hand shop. I guess its because even the newest ones are very old now. I'll have to teach myself how to fix them at some point.
Oh. Welp, there goes my birthday gift ideas. Maybe, just MAYBE, I’ll get lucky and it’ll be okay. The one I want is only a little over $100. I think it’s $114. Not too horribly bad in my book. The one I want is 25 inches. Panasonic I believe. No worries, since I took a screenshot of the exact one I wanted, on eBay. 😔
Noice!! I got the exact same model as this about 3 years ago on eBay. Not sure if it is the same model as I had in my bedroom at my parents, seems very similar. Sorry yours hasn't been all you hoped for, but hey, it is only a back up right?
Hi there I’ve just set this tv up to my mega drive. When I press the av button there is sound and a slight picture but can’t seem to find a way to tune the tv at all? Any help would be appreciated thanks
Sorry I don't know. I don't have the TV or instructions for it any more. If you ask ChatGPT and give it the name and model number (14" Panasonic TX14-S2T), it should be able to help. It's helped me figure out certain settings and things with other CRTs.
Lol. I just picked one real similar off the side of the road. Its like the one in my profile pic, without the speaker at the top Edit: without the SCART connector, as in australia we dont use those
I believe I use to have a TV in the US like that one but it has a problem that it only displayed blue and the other color tones are gone. Thats why I am done with CRT. I just got a portable 16inch 2.5K monitor that displays 100% RGB and great contrast plus its the first IPS screen to have great HDR and got it on sale for 109. I use it with my laptop while its closed so I dont use the main screen. It does 1440p very well with my PS5 with HDR on finally working well since my 27th inch DELL monitor can't do HDR right. The brand is CNBANAN its from Japan not chinese so its good quality portable Monitor.

Yes you can find crt tv made in Thailand brand SONAR
Crts are still made in china
I’m now imagining if they made a brand new crt with 4k in mind
That's never going to happen and it makes me sad.
That is a cool TV set.
Does this CRT support 60Hz? It's a nice looking one and all
Hi, sorry I'm not sure, it's been a while since I've used it. I'm using another one at the moment.

I don't think I have, I'll try that out, I'll also try out playing a DVD on it and see if it happens.
It's interesting that there was a program about someone unpacking something as you were removing the bubble wrap from the TV 😳😁
Very very nice 👍
I gave up buying CRTs off Ebay, sellers overcharge and hide issues. I bought several and each had an issue of some sort

Sorry the TV did not work as you intended. Have you tried usung the front av and see how it looks?

@@RPKGameVids okay much appreciated and many thanks for that
How much incidentally, sorry if I missed you saying it
£55
@@RPKGameVids not bad, hope they didn't scalp on the postage.

Ive ordered 3 crts off ebay. 2 were damaged and the other never even showed up.
I think it's probably very difficult to find a CRT that works perfectly now, since even the newest ones are very old.
For consoles like PS2 it is a better idea to get a stereo TV even 15 inch flat screen models.
as you see the net in the tv it’s an camera effect
Imagine still having this tv in 2024
CRTs are so much better for interlaced and low resolution content. Go back to playing fortnite kid.
This tv came out before I was even born
Looks like the one I have, only its Malaysian Made.
I keep forgetting Panasonic made crt’s
I found a 20 inch crt tv from ebay for 20 dollars
Does it work?
Also, 1 inch per dollar, or one dollar per inch.
Its one dollar per inch
@@legitfnayt1235 oh ok thanks
It is from 1996.
Bütün bunlar GTA3 için miydi? O Televizyon Analog yayınları çok iyi yakalar.
