@@bienvenidos9360 Oh yes, there is. You can tell Indian bay leaves from the longitudinal lines. They're supposed to taste different from European ones, apparently stronger. Though I've never tried any. Anyway, just a small curiosity.

The bay tree spread to the Mediterranean region through trade over 3000 years ago. It's very popular to use in Mediterranean food.
@bienvenidos9360 The Indian and European bay are 2 unrelated species. The European bay is Laurus nobilis, while the Indian one is Cinnamomum tamala.
