My only real issue that I’ve noticed in these NCAA playoffs, and it’s happened a few times, is umpires not calling batters out when they are bunting and their feet are exiting the batter’s box. I saw it in a game on a squeeze where a runner scored off of it, and the guy was stepping on home plate to put the bunt down. For example, 11:25.

My only real issue that I’ve noticed in these NCAA playoffs, and it’s happened a few times, is umpires not calling batters out when they are bunting and their feet are exiting the batter’s box. I saw it in a game on a squeeze where a runner scored off of it, and the guy was stepping on home plate to put the bunt down. For example, 11:25.

@@noahu7369 There is no infraction for stepping on home plate before contacting the ball. If a batter in official rules bats a ball fair or foul with 100 % of their foot outside the batter’s box it’s an out. The plate is not mentioned in official rules. You are referring to N.F.H.S. rules which are a bastardized form of the official rules.
