- Tennessee and Georgia Tech played in the Knoxville Regional Final in the 2022 College Baseball Season.

One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I started making them with team logos on the left, and a game snapshot on the right, and I’ve gotten almost all of my video views with that style.
I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

@@nolandavis1129 if you’ve watched any Tennessee game this year you would know they are usually the ones “chirping”… not that I have a problem with it, but I doubt the first baseman for GT just randomly started trash talking the TN dugout without cause. Also, why would Beck think to flip off the outfielders because of the first baseman? He could have said something to any of the infielders, let alone the first baseman himself while rounding the bags…
Funny how when it’s a player from a team you’re a fan of who does something like this you praise it, but had it been a player from an opposing team you would be calling it classless and demanding a suspension…
commentators were fantastic
Our starting pitchers (other than Tidewell) need to do alot better early on, and that Ump deserves a fastball straight to the nuts i know college officiating isn't perfect but this was just beyond frustrating to watch.
That ump was straight up terrible for both sides. Legit had the same pitch called both a strike and a ball. It was the same pitch and in the same placement.

At 10:35 that’s why it’s important for the SS to realize the play is going to be close and stretch out like a 1B would in a similar situation. That play definitely shifted momentum and changed the game. Happens to the best but training it will make it second nature.

When Beck hits the ball over the head of the center fielder, did you see the dejected reaction from GT’s no. 1? He saw their fleeting hopes sail over that center fielder’s head.

They don’t have the pitching depth. That is why they didn’t dominate this year. They have great hitting, but suspect pitching. A tournament format like this really exposes teams that don’t have pitching depth

Whew, that shaky TN defense cost them the first two runs and will likely bite their ass as opponents continue getting stronger.
Another nice win but I'd like to see a game where they don't spot the other team the first three to five innings.
Defense has been great all year. Lawson had three major mistakes that killed us, but I don’t expect it to continue to be an issue.

I know it's futile to argue balls and strikes but I thought the pitch that was called a ball which walked a GT batter and extended their attempted comeback was a strike. Fortunately for the Vols it wasn't enough to beat them.

Wherever an umps strike zone is is OK as long as it's consistent. This umps SZ appears to have fluctuated all game.

When are we going to start reviewing strikes like this? We already had the technology for the public to see. When a batter check swings if he’s called safe the will review and send him to the dugout. Why not hold the pitcher to the same competitive level?
I’m a Tennessee fan, so a little disclaimer there on the front end. I will say that “the human element” is part of the game, and the endless reviews are ridiculous. I was at the game the other night, and the number of reviews was utterly ridiculous. I do understand the basis of your argument, though. Also, I’m honest enough to say that the final pitch was a ball. It was obviously high. I haven’t had a chance to see the replay of the game, so I don’t know if the umpire was consistent with his strike-zone … I will say this: Georgia Tech has ALL OUR RESPECT. That starting pitcher dominated us … Anyway, just my 2 cents worth.

Glad the Tennessee Hooligans were knocked out of the tournament. First time I've ever routed against an SEC team. The worst players, coaches and fans (baseball and football) in the NCAA. Throwing temper tantrums like toddlers every time something doesn't go their way. An embarrassment to the SEC.
Tennessee has had a cushy home field advantage for the past few games. I’m interested to see if it affects them further down the line.
Swept ole miss, vandy, Florida and Mississippi state all on the road. Plus won out in hoover, I think they can play on the road.

Unfortunately, the final pitch, and most important pitch, of the game was a "bad/incorrect" and decisive call by the umpire.
He was calling high pitches strikes all night. So no.

That’s why nobody watches college baseball. The umpires are absolutely atrocious and they need to go to wood bats….makes no damn sense for guys to be batting .415 and teams with above .300 batting average. 37 teams have a total batting avg .300 or above
