Ah! I love your map pillow cases. Those are so great. Good luck on your move! I'm excited for you and your new job. :)
Love the look of that tea!!
Exactly, just having that reminder at the back of your mind to "Think about now! Enjoy the present!" is enough to make a pretty significant change in the way you look at things, I think.
Love Ken Robinson--he's a genius! I didn't know you're a teacher, that's awesome!
Don't know yet but will be searching madly for it. Will keep you posted.
You're one of the cutest people in TH-cam! It's beautiful to see how passionate you are of everything you do.
I just found you through Kayley's video - this is great! The only problem with these types of videos, though, is that I now have like ten tabs open (or I should say ten new tabs, because I already had a bunch because I can never get enough of this internet stuff) and I should be reading for school or something. At least I've already seen Amanda Palmer's TED talk, so I can concur in loving it! I should probably watch it again, though. :)
Thanks! The one on my wall is Grainstacks (Sunset), and above it is Fisherman's Cottage. I stumbled upon a Monet exhibit when I went to Las Vegas last year and seeing those two paintings in person totally took my breath away! I'd love to see Haystacks in Winter someday. It's amazing how different all his haystack paintings look in person!
Will and Grace is so much fun to rewatch! It's really one of a kind. Thanks very much! I'm so glad you're gonna check out Last Chance to See!
Yes! In a perfect world, that series would not have ended after 2 seasons. I rewatch a few episodes of it whenever I need a punch of color and cheer in my life!
Ugh YES. That line from Mr. Knightley is one of my favorite things in the history of ever.
I'm such a tea lover. I'll be coming the net looking for that one. I could almost smell it through the screen.
This was all kinds of lovely. You are so great! I love how genuine you are about the positivity you are experiencing, and hoping to inspire :)
I loved this video and I loved Amanda's ted talk as well. She is one of my favorite humans.
I know this video is old. But what a great video. You have such a great presence on camera
So so so good. I miss it all the time!
D'awwww, Rincey!
This by far is one of my favourite favourites, I cannot wait until the next time you are overwhelming with love and do another one of these vids
Nurture you crush on life! Perfect words!
YOU'RE wonderful, Jason!
Yay, thank you! That talk deserves another watch for sure. And I totally agree.. I always end up with a dizzying amount of tags whenever I watch favorites videos!
i love ted talks!! i watch all them on netflix, how i wish i had a documentary buddy, it's so sad to watch them alone and want to discuss them so bad but you're the only one that's seen them, i usually retell the whole thing the next day to my best friend or my mom :)
i also love this video, your personality is magnetic, it makes me happy :)
The striving definitely counts! Its the most important thing! And failing just means that you're striving which means its just as important. You can accidentally be successful, but I'm not sure you can accidentally fail. It takes effort and that makes it incredibly valuable.
This was so eloquent and awesome. Plus your voice is so soothing an hypnotic :)
Oh Laraine your voice is just so calming and lovely! I must visit that book shop, it looks amazing!! Great video, as always!
Definitely! I still like to dream about the future--it's one of my favorite things to do and it's great motivation!--but I'm trying to be a lot more mindful of NOW.
I want those pillow cases. They are so good. That book store looks good. You have a lovely voice.
Aw, Haley, thank you so much! This is such a lovely compliment.
I love that talk by Cameron Russell! I'm glad you found TED through it--there's so much great, inspiring stuff on there!
YES. I finished reading it at a Starbucks, and I was close to tears the whole time.
As much as I love bookish videos, I love videos about these kinds of things, too. Keep them coming! I was very motivated by your closing, I have really been working on that myself, focusing on the now. So thank you for this, sincerely.
I am a fan of your words and the way you speak so much. You just have such a way with them. Your videos are always soothing for me to listen to and mediate on.
I recently found out about TED talks because of the model that did it, I think I saw it on Yahoo. It was amazing.
I just wanted to let you know that you are so lovely and amazing and I aspire to be like you in the booktubing community, and in real life!
my favorite book of all time is Emma, so amazing
Uuuuuggghhhh it was soooo wonderful great amazing! The Stephen Fry miniseries is definitely on my to-watch list now, thanks!
Bitter Greens by Kate Forsyth. It's an adult, kinda historical, kinda dark retelling of Rapunzel. Loving it so far!
YES, I was worrying a lot about the future and forgetting to be mindful of the current moment. Hearing that advice really changed my perspective!
Living in the present. Definitely something I'm always striving for. Definitely something I fail at most of the time.
Yes, love them!
Your pillowcases are amazing!
I love this video all your vids for that matter! I agree, I'm constantly reminding myself to slow down and be in my moments, to live my experiences not just move through them. When I regain the courage I want to share my thoughts and book love on you tube!
It really is! I can't pass by the store without going in to try a sample or just get a whiff of whatever's brewing.
A favorites video isn't a favorites video without books! Thanks!
I thought of you when I first watched Amanda's talk and meant to tweet you about it! It was so great! Thanks!
This video was lovely and adorable, and it's making me feel a little better about my stressful life at the moment :)
Thank you, thank you! It was a really nice reminder and the perfect thing to share with all the young folks on TH-cam, I think. :)
Thanks!! Peach tranquility sounds so good mmmm.
I didn't know Alain de Botton had TED talks--I think he's brilliant! Will have to watch him and Susan Cain asap! Thank you!!
Thanks so much! I think obsessing over the future is a pretty common thing among young people, so I thought it was worth sharing. It's really helped improve my perspective. Thanks again for this lovely comment!
So hard to do! Especially in your twenties when you feel like life doesn't start until you're exactly where you wanna be. I fail at it all the time too, but I think the striving counts for something. :)
Ohhh it's so good.
Ok, now you've officially become my favourite youtuber.
You rock girl :)
and I can't help but say again that you have a looooovely personality! :)
Ahh, Lee Pace as the sweetest piemaker ever... Pushing Daisies destroyed me haha.
I love that Chipp Kidd talk. What a guy! Will have to check out those other ones you mentioned!
Thanks so much!!
love your world map pillow case.
This is exactly what I was hoping for when I decided to make this video. Thanks so much!
This was lovely.
Yesss I love them! Had to snap them up when I saw them at Urban. Thanks, Jesse!! :D
You've just took away a huge chunk of my time because I feel the need to try most of the things you love. Staaahp. Btw I love those pillowcases.
yes, more of videos like these, this made me happy :). i need to rewatch will & gace too but i'm currently rewatching Scrubs so after that maybe.
Yaay, happy birthday! Tons of March babies. :)
Aw, thanks, Amy!!
This video reminded me to nurture my crush on life. Thank you for being wonderful!
Can't wait to check out Amanda Palmer's new TED talk!
Thanks for being incredible.
Oh man, Scrubs is another great one! I rewatched Scrubs before I started my training as a nurse to help calm my nerves! Haha. Thanks!
Dreaming about the future, yes, my dreams are alive! lol but I'm trying to not worry so much it stresses me out (I'm currently looking for a job post-grad)! Congratz on YOU finding a job though! How exciting!
Yup, it was definitely something that I needed to hear. Thanks!
Last chance to see is on my book list, I am rewatching will and grace from season one (so good) also your eloquence and articulation is admirable and astounding : )
Yes! Thank you! :)
Aw, thanks so much, Matthew!! You're pretty dang great yourself!
I'm pretty in love with them!
This is priceless feedback. Thanks so much!
Those pillow cases are brilliant
Love it...stay in the present!
Ahhh my gosh, thank you so much!
We should have a TED talks/documentary club! Haha. We can pick something to watch and talk about it live on twitter or google chat or whateva.
Happy golden birthday!! :D
Exactly. I don't hate it!
Thanks, Mallory! :)
The smell is divine! Perfect thing to wake up to! And to put you to sleep, I guess, because I drink it morning and night haha. Does Teavana deliver to France?
You are very eloquent, I find this video refreshing. I myself watch TED talks and adore Teavana (yet find them expensive!) Anyway, your voice suits those voice actors at Umano. More power to you!
Thank you. The last part of your video really cheered me up. I almost always "live" in the future as well... but for me this always goes along with fear. A lot of fear. So, maybe I should just practice living for the moment. :)
WILL & GRACE! My favourite show ever! :)
Yes, definitely! Balance in everything!
What are your favorites from Teavana? Now that I fell in love with one, I wanna try their other flavors. Also, thank you!!
Thank you! :)
Haha, THANKS! Me too!
Yes! He's like the teacher I wish I had! I just read How Proust Can Change Your Life and I really liked it.. so much that I'm seriously contemplating the idea of tackling In Search of Lost Time O.O
You just gained a fan :). You're a very inspiring person.
Thanks! Same here. Being reminded of that was really really helpful to me, so I thought I'd share. :)
Ah, thank you!! Isn't it?! Entering that bookstore felt like going on an adventure. :)
I love this. You seem wonderful.
Yay for 1990 babies! Happy birthday in advance!
I love your face and your voice is so soothing
Ahh, thanks!!
Your videos are so, so good. I think I'd listen to you talk about anything, or nothing at all, since I equally enjoy your monthly 2013 videos as well. =]
So.. That last part is exactly what I needed: I reminder, a kick in the burr to not just think about it, but do it. Thanks so much for that :)
I got them from Urban Outfitters.
This was so sweet :)
I think we are in the same situation as far as "dreaming about the future" - well, I worry too much about the future but I think living in the moment is a good goal to go after :)
Thanks! Ah, Amanda Palmer, what a personality!
I turn 23 in March too!
I love how calm and composed you are. (Is that a weird comment?) Also, I tried to get my brother to watch the first episode of Game of Thrones and he did not react appropriately.
My favorite things: you. /cheese
But seriously, I'm super glad that you linked to Ted Talks because I love them and I have been meaning to catch up on the new ones. And thanks for the shoutout. I feel quite special
Ah, thanks, Dylan!!
Love this
Yes, I have! I actually thought about it when I was uploading this video and smacked myself on the head for forgetting to mention it!
Whaaaaaaat, you're so sweet. Thank you so much!
