If I had to guess, and speak for them, I would say It does become muscle memory after playing it10,000 times. Initially they might hate themselves but once they get to this level with a song, its probably not too bad to just spit the song back out again.
@@riccokane I can pretty much see what he's hypothetically proposing: the guy having a huge hangover (or a strong cold) from last night out (you can have one or both if you're not careful going out) grabbing his head with both hands and saying to himself something like "why did I write this in the first place?" or perhaps "I should have started a punk band", and laughing at himself before playing next tune. Not literally hating themselves for making complex songs but in a funny way. The drive on Tosin's guitar/amp sounds really shrill. I'm not audio engineer so I'm sure that's what they were going for, but it does sound off to me at points in this song.
It look like tosin is doing more of straight amp head and javier is using his Axe fx which if youve ever had the luck of playing an Axe fx the clarity you get out of it is on another level. It's like putting sound in 4k
My God this new Anaheim show is insane! They've grown just overall in their sound, just more solid and it feels like they're even more comfortable within this music and I'm not saying that they weren't comfortable before cuz they were, always have been but to me it seems like they've grown....
Something is off on one part, like around 1:32-1:45 roughly when they go into what almost sounds like 1/64th notes? The guitarists aren’t playing enough of those muted notes between the both of them for what is being heard. Maybe they just couldn’t reproduce an extra guitar track while live? Or maybe I’m missing something because it’s so intricately done that the instruments become almost literally one in a different way than just “playing together as a band”… like, they fill in notes for the other instruments in this symbiotic way I haven’t seen before. They kind of melt from 3 different things into 1. Interesting stuff. The fact that I’ve been playing instruments a very long time and had to rewind a couple of times to even see what they were doing impresses me because I never have to do that. Anyway; after a moment they fill those notes or cover them when the drums begin the pattern and join. But prior to that for a moment and a second after it’s too high and metallic of a sound to be the drums doing it… it’s a muted pick scraping noise that one would know if you play. It reminds me of Meshuggah in a way. Am I missing something? I had heard of these guys but never watched or really listened close. To find out it’s actually only 3 people doing this makes it even wilder. I mean at some point you can create this with 8 people playing and layering different things and it’s not that impressive.
He’s doing a technique called thumping. Imagine slapping but with more notes. That’s why they’re blending in, it’s because they’re kind of playing drums with their guitars
