😂 Sabaton is the only band I know that makes you proud and patriotic for a land that’s not your own 🤣

yeah, I have had those moments with "resist and bite", "uprising" and couple others, they really can play havoc with your feelings.

This song /video moved me so deeply, that I learned to sing it in Swedish (1wk challenge!) just so that i could be a part of this epic sing along!

@Cam1an I speak a little bit of 6 languages... its quite easy to learn from songs...you get the grammar wrong, but learn words! Don't give up...its never too late to start learning!

Excellent reaction. "En Livstid i Krig" means "A Lifetime of War." For me this song is Sabaton's most emotionally draining, telling the story of a Swedish soldier in the Thirty Years War from his enlistment at as a youth to his death, truly a lifetime of war. And seeing it sung in Swedish, in Sweden, is truly awesome. One point, Sabaton crowds react regardless of the song and location. For example, Sabaton opened the Polish concert with "Ghost Division" a song about a German panzer battalion, yet the crowd still got into it, singing along and cheering. I went to see them in Oct 2022 in Nashville (Epica opened for them), and it was the best concert I ever saw. Small venue, but the crowd was into it all during the set, and Sabaton are experts at crowd interaction. No mosh pit or rowing due to the venue arrangement, but lots of singalongs. BTW, the lights are cell phones.

I saw them In Atlanta, I agree best concert I have ever seen since the 70"S ( YES with Wakeman) I saw couples dance to "Christmas Truce" (waltzing) Amazing

@@richardjosephus6802 Makes sense, Joakim said he wrote "Christmas Truce" as a waltz. My best concert prior to Sabaton was Lynyrd Skynyrd in the Woodlands in the 90's. Sad that America has so few good concert opportunities.

    Thanks for this reaction!!!
I have been a Sabaton fan for over a decade and this song hits me like a ton of bricks.
I was lucky enough to be there in Gothemburg, about 10 rows back on the left, and thanks too your reaction, I was yet again taken back to this epic moment, that will stay in my memory for the rest of my life.

I have a small list of concerts I would happily time-travel back to see. This is definitely on the list.

I was actually in the crowd for this. One of the most powerful live concert experiences Ive ever had. You truly felt the emotions from everyone in the crowd and the band. It was intense.

I hardly ever subscribe. I just get tired of everyone always begging for me to do so. But I did here. Because you get it. You get what it's about, man. I saw Pearl Jam last year for the first time since 2000 when nine people died and the show was cut short. I helped carrying one of the dead out of the crowd. 22 years on, I finally get to finalize that experience with a concert performed to completion, just miles from where the disaster happened. I needed that and I needed the crowd around me. My voice was gone for like four days from singing along and giving it all.
THAT'S why you go. Not for a perfectly choreographed, elaborate "perfect" pop star performance. You go to connect. You go to get a buzz on and let yourself become part of the music you love 🤘🏼

The song: Livstid i krig is about, among other things, the 30-year cricket Sweden participated in and other wars in the past. But the song also fits today when men who were sent to war and never came home, such as these soldiers who were sent to Afghanistan for 20 years.

The lights are their mobiles, they ask them to put on the flashflight on your phones.
Also i loved being at their own festival att Falun and hear this song, people from all over the world singing in swedish because a song manages to hit you right in the feels.

Nice reaction, I was at this show (sitting somewhere in the middle of the platform to the left from this view of the stage)
They had sold out the arena so we were 10 766 metalheads in the arena that night, needless to say, it was one hell of a show that night.

You are definitely on to something with that Sabaton have a great gimick in involving the crowd, wherever they go they probably have some song about a conflict involving that country or area. In swedens case you need to go back to 1600/1700-something since we had peace for well over 200 years, but it still hits.
Was there (somewhere in the middle) and while I've seen swedish crowds sing this song pretty much every time they play it, this was probavly the most epic. Turned out to be the last concert before shutdown and everything got fucked in 2020 so the memory was enhanced even more by that. If that was to be the last live show i got to see, then it was a good one to go out with.

Before the song Joakin (singer) speaks to the crowd in Swedish and tells the crowd "OK, let's all sing this one together".

And he says: Noone has lighters nowadays, but you all have phones, so light them up. And this was actually a contest between the audiences of Stockholm and Gothenburg, Swedens two biggest cities who could sing this the best. This was the winner.

You have to listen to "Galax" by Letters From The Colony. Another swedish band that released their debut album "Vignette" on Nuclear Blast Records (!) 2018. A phenomenal blend between Meshuggah/Gojira/Opeth/Pink Floyd. You can thank me later! ;) Cheers!
