Even if role does not have access to underlying table ,but have access to view it can be selected. Mv can query only a single table. In mv joins not supported. Mv can not query udf. Mv does not include window function.
Thanks for such a nice explanation. As you said, "views are not dynamic". Can you please explain how to keep view updated when there is change in parent table?
Thank you for the explanation.Whenever we are creating materialized views on top of external tables, the materialized view is not updated whenever the external tables gets changed.can you explain what could be the possible reason for that?
If you have not seen my external table, which talks about everything about its behaviour and how it functions, pls watch this episode (th-cam.com/video/w9BQsOlJc5s/w-d-xo.html) To answer your question quickly.. external table has auto refresh property and if that property is disabled, your materialized view will not refresh automatically. Hope this helps... (this part of the video talks about auto-ingest feature th-cam.com/video/w9BQsOlJc5s/w-d-xo.html?t=1088)
I would suggest to understand the snowflake architecture (th-cam.com/video/IocdgUB94KQ/w-d-xo.html) and how it works. Cloud service layer performs the optimization before the actual query is executed.
@@DataEngineering no sir....I didn't told that your videos are not sufficient. If possible please make a small video on the preference of the videos to watch. It will help the beginner like me where to start.
Snowflake views are not dynamic and doesn't change automatically if underlying sources are modified. Show views in schemaname. Show views like %%; Describe view name;
Excellent, Nice tutorial, included all the stuf...
Glad it was helpful!

Hi, can you share the 3 tables you mentioned here. It would be better when trying to do view based on this tutorial video.
The dashboards are really nice!
Thanks for your note..
it will be great if you can add Data sets details .It'll be really helpful for practice.

Not found any such approach ..

Could you please share DDL and data sets. It will be helpful for us to do hands on.
Hi sir can you do the video on DBT tool it's very much helpful
Hi ,thank you for informative session,do you any project documentation on migration from any technology to snowflake
I am planning to make a playlist on migration once this playlist is over.. may take some time..
Perfect. Thanks Sir.
So nice of you
Great lecture
Thanks
NICE Explanation
thanks.
Multiple joins , aggregations and limit allow for materialized view in snowflake. Is this tutorial outdate for MV subject?
May be yes.. as Snowflake keeps adding features.
Thank you for nice presentation. Please check the end of this video. There is a duplicate part appended.
Ok, thank you.. I will check.. and will pay extra attention from next time.
Can u plz explain what is meant by internal optimization

Cloud service layer performs the optimization before the actual query is executed.
Is there any training available on snowflake?
there are lot of videos available in udemy as well as snowflake website. You can watch them if you feel my videos are not covering every thing.
