Now in regards to this video I’m not particularly into anime but this song/ video is great I can remember watching it over and over for the first couple of weeks when it came out. The video was incredibly well done but everything they do is. Looking forward to the release of the new album/video. Thanks again
Unleash pleasantly surprised me. But it makes sense because their personalities immediately bring to mind anime characters. And the illustrator Amecomi, who made several Band-Maid posters (I have 2), draws them perfectly from this point of view. I remember the Jackson Five had their own cartoon in the 70s so maybe the Maids will stars in an anime one day. I know Log Horizon but I haven't seen the 3rd season, unfortunately for the ending song. Thanks Ohrenje.
Note that older folks familiar with 1970's anime may notice that the spaceship shaped like a battleship with a giant laser is based off Star Blazers/Space Battleship Yamato😁
Wow, BAND-MAID is becoming so big, now major anime productions use their music. Excellent. _Unleash!!!!!_ is fantastic, I think. The cuteness of the anime maids and the many references to their former videos make this one of my favourite BAND-MAID MVs.
Unleash!!!!! is not only an anime MV ... it's a darn good anime! Design and animation are top notch, there has been great involment of the anime team in it. And the story is both very personal and universal.
Unleash!!!!! is awesome, the song, as well as the video. After seeing it for the first time, I immediately came up with a plot for the Band-Maid Anime. Let´s make a show where they are a beloved rock band, travelling the world to play concerts, but in secret, they are super heroes fighting evil wherever they go. Right until World Domination! 💪☺
Ohrenje, once again you have given us a wonderful look behind the scenes of Band-Maid. Many of us would love a full-length anime feature of the band and their musical performances.
I remember the day when Unleash dropped quite well. The internet was locking up and I was unable to watch the MV until later that night. That day could not have dragged on longer. LOL Once I saw it, I was 100% hooked. It's an awesome MV, hands down! Plus, it gave way to meeting a whole new awesome community, as well as, meeting a certain gentleman from France later in October at a Band Maid show near Washington DC. Thanks Ohrenje! 🤘

I like drawings and animation, but I’m not much into Anime. I discovered Band-Maid very recently through Hate? , Domination, Freedom and From now on. They reveal so much personality in these videos that I somehow feel that the slightly stereotyped aesthetic of Anime doesn’t fit with their style - just as Saiki and Misa felt that they must break the maid outfit mould. But I have been ploughing through their catalogue and found Unleash a very nice and fitting nod to the pop culture that so obviously surrounds them and the fandom. What I would personally love much more though, is a Band-Maiko animated MV that instead of the anime style, references the style of traditional Japanese painting and woodblock printing. I am probably being a bit snobbish there. However, if there’s a band who could pull that off, it’s them.
It was Anime/Manga that led me to Band-Maid late one night..just randomly searching for anime on YT and up comes this odd music suggestion..."Band-Maid..Thrill..🤔" loll loll..so anytime I see B-M in Anime form it warms my heart Congratulations on three super prolific Band-Maid years, Ohrenje. Your dedication to B-M and the B-M Community ..your videos, shorts, and collabs - especially producing a B-M Manga Series and now with Viiolet..just, woww. Arigato Ohrenje!!!🤘🍻
The unleash video is indeed an extraordinary work of art, the level of artistry involved creating the characters and the level of detail just in Miku's Zemaitis alone is above and beyond, the message in the video is loud and clear, the song itself is another masterpiece, top scores for everyone involved.
I first heard BAND-MAID in 2020 during the lockdown we had here in the UK, and I have to thank Saiki, Miku, Kanami, MISA and Akane for getting me through that very dark time with their music. I became a Maidiac and I will be a fan for life po!❤
Thank you for this fascinating history. “Unleash!!!!!” may be my favorite music video of all time, by anybody. It’s beautifully done, very funny, and genuinely touching. I can’t think of anybody better suited to save the world than the ladies of Band-Maid. ❤
My top B-M mv along with the Domination one. If we speak of audio quality this one wins by a mile, the low volume in Domination's mv ruins the experience but it's visually a masterpiece. And what to say about this one... Simply 11/10 🤘🏻🕊️
I am a massive Linkin Park fan, so it always saddens me a little that nobody ever mentions that the official animated music video for Breaking the Habit came out in 2004 when talking about animated music videos. Otherwise fantastic video as always.
There are many artists that use animated music videos. Maybe Ohrenje is not a fan of Linkin Park, that’s why he didn’t mention them. He could have mentioned Gorillaz (a tribute to Akane 🦍😄) as well but Daft Punk’s MVs for the Discovery album aka Interstella 5555, made by Leiji Matsumoto (RIP), absolutely fits the topic (anime style animation).
