I’ve listened to a few songs, and absolutely love how they can break into another genre during the song and it works so well! I’m on my Japan appreciation ark, which started with watching all of Makoto Shinkai’s movies, and was curious about the music scene. Glad that I did!
It only took one month: Discovered the band -> explored catalog -> got hooked -> bought tickets to see them in Houston. Thier sound and energy are epic.
@sliphstream Congratulations! Same here, just over a month since first viewing Thrill, followed by B-M absolutely dominating my playlist since then. From comments on their MVs and reactions, there are new fans everyday who fall into the same rabbit hole.
Found them early last year. A week later after playing their songs nonstop they became my favorite band of all times. I have got a ticket for the 1st show of their 10th anniversary tour, will see them at Tokyo Garden Theater in January 🙂
I'm not overreacting to saying BAND-MAID is the medicine I take everyday to feel alive and overcome any obstacle with a smile. I simply love them since the first sight and hearing.
Almost every day I walk to my shitty job while listening to Band-Maid. I get through the door feeling like shit and arrive smiling. And they saved my sanity for sure during lockdown.
Pretty sure the fans are right and this song and video are about COVID and the last few years. With the dark cloud of course representing COVID. These ladies are telling us their story of the last few years. How they felt isolated and alone at first. Then they came together as a band and found some sort of peace doing online concerts. So at least they could have some interaction with their fans. Now they are ready to be unleashed. ITS SHOWTIME! I saw them in Dallas in 2019. I saw how much they loved playing for their fans in person, Saiki's little smiles, Kanami yelling into her mic getting the crowd fired up for her new instrumental, and of course Miku enjoying her audience interactions during Omaginary Time (I have no idea how that's spelled). The energy in that room that night was amazing. I'm sure they are so ready to create that energy and excitment with their fans again after this long hard wait. I can't wait to see them again. I'll be losing my mind!
There are so many awesome easter eggs hidden in this. Misa's hip flask, Akane eating bananas, Miku turning into a pigeon, Saiki being an Ice Queen, Kanami's love for Saiki. When they are in the "rainbow" color outfits each of them has the BAND-MAID "Bow" on the back of their dresses. Sadly if you are not a fan of the band you will surely miss all of the great references to the band's history, their personalities (aka charms), inside jokes, etc. The entire MV is such a tribute and thank you to all of the Maidiacs (Masters & Princesses) around the world. This is a band who truly realizes that they have fans everywhere around the world and they embrace that 1000%. We all must say thank to our brave little pigeon for coming up with such an amazing and unique concept. The softness of the maid outfit/uniform blended with an incredible heavy rock sound. Thank you to the other maids in the band, who are just as important as Miku. Thank You Kanami (aka Kanamincho or Mincho), Akane (aka The Gorilla), Misa (aka The Assassin) and Saiki (aka The Ice Queen). Thank you for trusting Kurrupo (aka Miku Kobato ) in her vision, you have brought the world more joy than you may ever know.
The scene where each of them appears in the beginning are taken from 1 of their other MVs. Saiki from Blooming, Akane from Domination, Kanami from Alone, Misa from Dice and Miku from Thrill.
The magical girl outfits have some anime references as well. Miku is Madoka, Akane seems to be Mami from Madoka. Kanami and Saiki are both in poses from sailor moon, im not sure what Misa's is based off. The darkness and space cannon might also be a refernece to Nanoha 🤔

Fun things I noticed is the magical girl versions Miku is a reference to Madoka and Akanes is a nod to Mami from that series. Trying to work out the others but Kanamis pose is simiilar to sailor chibi and Saikis appears to be a sailor mars pose. Also the animated part earlier with Miku in the white background is a nod to the thrill music video :)

Are they the Beatles of this generation? Hear me out first. Lead Bass playing during compositions, check. Synchronized spot on drumming with constant change ups during fills, check. Magical harmonies singing meaningful lyrics, check. Short memorable killer rifts and solos in songs that move you, check. Trend setting, breaking through barriers, fans know every member by name, feels like family and most importantly, have their own cartoons. check
The songwriting is top notch across the board, but Miku and Saiki have such a way of writing the most ridiculously catchy vocal hooks. Never get tired of hearing them sing.

I wasn't going to comment on this video but I see the view count rising and I see comments in English, Spanish, Japanese and Russian. So I think to myself THIS is what Band-Maid is all about, making people happy and bringing strangers closer together.
That. Was. Fucking. Awesome. The animation was phenomenal and correlated so well with the overall production and song and music itself, absolutely amazing! BAND-MAID is on another level with their work, love it! The emotion is real in this song. Side note: What I would do to get a BAND-MAID flag (last scene towards the end). Hope they consider doing that in a future merch drop.

なんつーかその…出た当初のキワモノ感を『音』で全部跳ね返して、なんならそれを武器にしてのし上がってる。世界はそれにものすごく反応してるのに国内がその良さに気付けていない。たぶん今最強のバンドなんじゃない？？

ただ、海外ファンを忘れなかったからこそ、ここまで来れたと思うし、海外ファンのほうが多いという状況は変わらないと思います。
ジャンル的に若いのに流行らないってのもあるけど、メイドの見た目と「ッポ」とか言う言葉遣いの謎キャラで、「かっこいい」に敏感な10代や20代に刺さらない感じだね。曲も声も演奏も全部かっこいいんだが、そこに気づく前にコンセプトと見た目で拒絶反応されてるのかもしれない。

50年近く洋楽、邦楽問わず聴いてきて大抵の音楽は何処かで聴いたことがあるなって感じの曲や編曲ばかりで少し音楽に飽きてきた所にBAND MAIDに出会って音楽熱が再燃。

たものだと感心すると共に、個人的には地元近くそして九州の誇りでもある小鳩ミクさんには感謝しかありません。
よく「日本でもっと認知されて欲しい」みたいなツイートを見かけますが、個人的には日本だけでアリーナクラスのツアーをやれるミュージシャンより世界中の人達に名前を知られてる彼女達の方がより素晴らしい人生を送っておられると思ってます。これからも世界征服目指して頑張って下さい！

今日サマソニでベガス目的会場入ってでその前に出演だったからたまたま見てたらぶっ刺さった
ガールズバンドの中でも飛び抜けて好きになりました

曲としては「火花」の流れに続く感じ。人によってはなんでこれをリード曲として先行配信するのかと不満なのだろうが、あえてこの曲を選んだ彼女たちの姿勢には好感が持てる。何度聴いても引き込まれるね。

みんちょが小鳩に「9年前誘ってくれてありがとう」とコメントしてました。もうそれを見て泣けましたよ。本当素晴らしいバンドです。ありがとう。
3回出てくるAメロからの展開が全て違っていて、特に2回目は予定調和から逸脱しているのが、いかにもBAND-MAIDらしい。ストレートなハードコア・パンク調から始まるもののメロディの展開が複雑なので、曲の全体像がつかみにくいが、繰返し聴いていくうちに馴染んでいくのは、いつものパターン。

大音響で低音が凄いので、ライブの方が録音よりもずっと良く聞こえる事が多いのはお判りになったと思います。

Band-Maidはヘビメタとかパンクロックとか言うジャンルには収まらない。
キャッチーでヘビーで元気になるのがBand-Maidなんだ！という主張を感じた（気がした）
I’ve listened to a few songs, and absolutely love how they can break into another genre during the song and it works so well! I’m on my Japan appreciation ark, which started with watching all of Makoto Shinkai’s movies, and was curious about the music scene. Glad that I did!

@sliphstream Congratulations! Same here, just over a month since first viewing Thrill, followed by B-M absolutely dominating my playlist since then. From comments on their MVs and reactions, there are new fans everyday who fall into the same rabbit hole.
Found them early last year. A week later after playing their songs nonstop they became my favorite band of all times. I have got a ticket for the 1st show of their 10th anniversary tour, will see them at Tokyo Garden Theater in January 🙂

Pretty sure the fans are right and this song and video are about COVID and the last few years. With the dark cloud of course representing COVID. These ladies are telling us their story of the last few years. How they felt isolated and alone at first. Then they came together as a band and found some sort of peace doing online concerts. So at least they could have some interaction with their fans. Now they are ready to be unleashed. ITS SHOWTIME!
I saw them in Dallas in 2019. I saw how much they loved playing for their fans in person, Saiki's little smiles, Kanami yelling into her mic getting the crowd fired up for her new instrumental, and of course Miku enjoying her audience interactions during Omaginary Time (I have no idea how that's spelled). The energy in that room that night was amazing. I'm sure they are so ready to create that energy and excitment with their fans again after this long hard wait.
I can't wait to see them again. I'll be losing my mind!

I need a band maid anime in my life
アニメみたいなサムネに釣られて視ました。
作画めっさいいですね（実写パートに対して「まるで実写」というのではなく、アニメーションの作画に対して）
キャラデザもメンバーの方々の特徴を捉えててかつ多くの人に刺さるものだと思います。
楽曲もカッコ良くて映像にとてもマッチしていて、実際にこんなアニメ作品があったらいいなぁと感じました。
総じてめっさいい動画に出会えたと思いました。
っぱ変身ヒロイン、戦隊、ダークな雰囲気、バンド・・・・・・これらの要素を持ったアニメは最高！

There are so many awesome easter eggs hidden in this. Misa's hip flask, Akane eating bananas, Miku turning into a pigeon, Saiki being an Ice Queen, Kanami's love for Saiki. When they are in the "rainbow" color outfits each of them has the BAND-MAID "Bow" on the back of their dresses. Sadly if you are not a fan of the band you will surely miss all of the great references to the band's history, their personalities (aka charms), inside jokes, etc. The entire MV is such a tribute and thank you to all of the Maidiacs (Masters & Princesses) around the world. This is a band who truly realizes that they have fans everywhere around the world and they embrace that 1000%. We all must say thank to our brave little pigeon for coming up with such an amazing and unique concept. The softness of the maid outfit/uniform blended with an incredible heavy rock sound. Thank you to the other maids in the band, who are just as important as Miku. Thank You Kanami (aka Kanamincho or Mincho), Akane (aka The Gorilla), Misa (aka The Assassin) and Saiki (aka The Ice Queen). Thank you for trusting Kurrupo (aka Miku Kobato ) in her vision, you have brought the world more joy than you may ever know.
The scene where each of them appears in the beginning are taken from 1 of their other MVs. Saiki from Blooming, Akane from Domination, Kanami from Alone, Misa from Dice and Miku from Thrill.
The magical girl outfits have some anime references as well. Miku is Madoka, Akane seems to be Mami from Madoka. Kanami and Saiki are both in poses from sailor moon, im not sure what Misa's is based off. The darkness and space cannon might also be a refernece to Nanoha 🤔
@@exiaR2x78 Miku's pose looks more like Sailor Mercury's to me. The darkness reminds me of Pharaoh 90 or Wiseman Nemesis which are also from Sailor Moon.
@@ghostmiyu yeah I originally though Akanes was Sailor Venus but after a few looks I def think its Mami, the outfit and hair for Miku def has to be based of Madoka. Not to familar with all of sailor moon 😅 my friend thinks Kanames outfit might be based of Tokyo mew mew 🤔

So the song is clearly a hype song about getting back out and performing, so it's LITERALLY a "BAND-MAID OP" And now I can say my favorite band has one of the best "Anime openings" and yes, they absolutely nailed the feel of an Anime OP here lol

17日のなんばハッチに観に行きましたが、凄すぎる演奏です。ミサのベースが腹まで届き、それに茜のドラムが乗り、少し音が小さいけど歌波のギターが色を付けて、クルッポのサイドギターが思ってたよりデカい音で厚みを付け、彩姫がその凄まじい演奏に負けない声量で歌うという凄まじさです。ここまでの演奏を出来るのは世界でも彼女達だけでしょう。

Fun things I noticed is the magical girl versions Miku is a reference to Madoka and Akanes is a nod to Mami from that series. Trying to work out the others but Kanamis pose is simiilar to sailor chibi and Saikis appears to be a sailor mars pose.
Also the animated part earlier with Miku in the white background is a nod to the thrill music video :)

確かに、今回選んだ3曲はコメント数の上位を選んだ訳ではなくて、とりあえずバンドメイドと言えばのthrillと、あとは結構人気かなと思った曲でしたので、比較的最近の曲は日数で比較するとコメント多めの気がしましたね。
ただ、Unleashは勢いが凄いなと思いますね。多分出したタイミングと歌詞の内容と映像の分かりやすさ、あとはアニメを使ったり過去のバンドメイドを振り返るような流れ等、注目点が多かった事と曲のインパクトの強さがあったんじゃないかなと思ってます。

The songwriting is top notch across the board, but Miku and Saiki have such a way of writing the most ridiculously catchy vocal hooks. Never get tired of hearing them sing.

The animation studio behind this did such a great job, all the little details and references really make it, I wonder if they are also Maidiacs? lol
That. Was. Fucking. Awesome. The animation was phenomenal and correlated so well with the overall production and song and music itself, absolutely amazing! BAND-MAID is on another level with their work, love it! The emotion is real in this song.
Side note: What I would do to get a BAND-MAID flag (last scene towards the end). Hope they consider doing that in a future merch drop.

サビのUnleashが三回出てくるけど、三回目だけ半音下げのブルーノート的なメロディになっていて、細かいなぁと感心した。この辺はギタリストのセンスだなぁ。さすがKanami先生。
個人的には凄い好みです。
このノンストップ感、サビの爆発感、歌詞も含めて好きです。
でも、色んな意見があり、言われてる事も理解出来ます。
ただ、それほどメイドさん達が期待されている証拠ですよね。
期待が凄いから、もっと！もっと！驚かせてくれ！って言う感じになるのでしょうかね。
EPの他の曲達が発表されればまた色々な意見が飛び交うでしょうが、皆凄く楽しみなのは変わらないはずです。
待っていればドンピシャな曲はすぐにやってくるはず、そう思わせてくれるのがBAND-MAIDの凄いところだと思います。
ダフトパンクのOne more timeのMVに言及している方がいますが、曲もあのような高揚感があり、名曲に共通するポテンシャルを感じます。ダフトはディスコハウスでしたが、バンドメイドは…ディスコグランジ？とにかくカッコよいです。
最近はバンドメイドにジャンルは関係ないと云うのがファン共通の意見です。
ポップメロディをバンドメイド独特のサウンドと組み合わせたオリジナルジャンルです。
モダンで先鋭的で攻撃的で素晴らしい。
