Thanks for joining tonight - I first put this out a while ago, before I had many subs. I've since re-edited parts to make it better, and put it out again for all the new subs to see. Also, I'm speaking to Kelly again this Monday with Aaron Smith-Levin about the similarities between NXIVM and Scientology! Will you be there? Did you know about NXIVM? Watching the Vow? LET ME KNOW BELOW!
I used to be a part of nxivm… I have met all the top team players before it was a total shxt show…. There are so many similarities between Scientology and NXIVM. I will be tuning in!!
@@AngelsVoiceASMR to be honest I heard Keith took a lot from Scientology. I’ve been watching Scientology related news but NXIVM also came into my reading as well. Horrifying. They were recruiting in Vancouver, BC, my country Canada. I read Sarah Edmundson’s book “Scarred”. Just horrified. I hope you are healing.
Even the one’s you can leave are dangerous… especially in your younger years because you can’t really leave if you’re brainwashed to believe you have to stay for your soul and the souls of your children.
All strength to you Kelly! I was brought up in a cult and I understand the horror of realizing the personal loss and feeling relating to having been duped in such a fundamental way. You've come across fantastically.
Great video, have always known there’s more to life than meets the eye, I feel like in this life i am supposed to be doing more than i am doing for the people i love. been seeking for an eye opening enlightenment, a way to be more influential and protected !
oh well you can achieve that by being a part of the illuminatus brotherhood, i know it sounds like a mystery but there are ways you can actually get in contact with them.
@@haynesatteh4463 Well it is not and you can't actually expect it to be open to everyone, but if you want to know more you can look up ANTHONY MARK SZYMON online you will find something interesting.
I just want to say thank you! Thank you for your humbleness and appreciation for your followers! You take time to try and recognize as many of us as you can. It’s truly appreciated. I have been in live chats where only super chat’s get an answer and though it’s your prerogative to do that you don’t! Thanks for keeping it humble and real 🙏🏻♥️
I’ve read Catherine Oxenburg’s and Sarah Edmundson’s book on Kindle. I’m looking forward for more videos on NXIVM and Keith Raniere. Very close to Scientology, as Keith took much from that insidious cult. I’m sure there are more like him, scary enough to say.
Thanks so much Kelly. You are really brave. Another great interview Andrew, so thank you to you to you too. That went so quick because it was fascinating. What a dreadful, little horrible man the founder turned out to be. I can’t even imagine the damage he’s done to those poor women he’s scarred for life by branding them. I hope he’s having a terrible time in prison, rotting away. I’m really glad you saw the warning signs with the collateral Kelly. Telling your story is courageous ❤️
Great interview guys, many thanks 👍 you don't realise how important it is to expose this sort of thing. For anyone interested Janja Lalich, Alexandre Stein and Diane Langberg are three other cult experts worth checking out. Best wishes to all.
Thank you Kelly for sharing your experiences and story. I know myself well enough to know we could have very similar stories, as the reasons you expressed developing an interest in nxvim are the same reasons I realize I could fall into the same position you found yourself. Thank you for speaking up. AG- you have some incredible guests on your show! I really enjoy your channel!
I’d like to say that I grew up in a dysfunctional “Christian” Pentecostal home. It wasn’t considered a cult, still isn’t but in many many ways it’s similar. Lot’s of brain washing, guilt and fear. I don’t think many people realize you can be very effected and deeply scarred by non cult religions Just saying 🤷🏼♀️
@@destineedamai your 100% right. You don't have to belong to any of these brainwashing religious groups. You can be spiritual with out believing in someone's version of god. Most of them are fear based anyway. Live and love and you will see everything beautiful that god ( what ever he she or what it is ) has given us.
Agree! Can’t really know someone by just watching them on the screen but I will say he seems like one of the most authentic, sweet and humble humans on this or any platform And one of the best at interviews!!!!
Thank you Kelly. I totally agree, "if you do not think that way, you are susceptible to those who do!" People unintentionally hurt people and that is a part of life but intentionally, go out your way to "abuse" people is quiet unthinkable"! That's how you become "prey" to someone else because you are just not on the same level, wave length! Thank you for sharing and thank you Andrew for having a TH-cam that does allow people to "share" their abusive stories! You can question yourself over and over, "how did this happen"!
They also made people give up meat … you ate at the center during the classes and it was zero meat !! I used to sneak out and go to fast food and eat during the breaks …..
I think it centered around food and sleep deprivation, an old system of breaking one down, mentally and physically, to further manipulate and control one. Thank goodness you were able to escape this.
This was a great interview! I really enjoyed watching it. I can actually completely understand what she is saying about finding purpose and woman being vulnerable to this. With hormonal fluctuations from your teens to early adulthood and then again with pregnancies and post natal impalances and then just when you think it's over it all starts again with menapuase. For some it is worst than for others and organisation's like this gives you a sense of purpose and a sense of belonging with like-minded people. I think the impact of hormones on your body and mental processes and then brain hormones are greatly under estimated. Woman struggle more openly with this, but I am convinced that men actually have equal problems, but since everybody around you seems to be okay, you feel a little alien...and if this sort of thing cross your path then... I can really even understand how these DOS woman became "traped" . It is truly sad.
Agree. It's dopamine in slow doses. Then wham big. Then take it away so when you get it, it feels wonderful. It's potent and powerful and can keep someone in the most abusive situations
I think that is one of the things that keeps people in, the shame and embarrassment. I think that the outer circle, the teachers like her wouldn’t have gone along with what the inner circle were doing.
Andrew, I HIGHLY recommend you watch the series (The Vow). I followed the story fairly closely in the news but my mind was absolutely blown at some of the specific information in the documentary; particularly season 2.
I feel so bad for these people and their embarrassment. I think the best way to handle it is face it head on, you didn't realize what was happening, you were tricked! I would always think how could these people get involved in things like this? What are they dumb or something? But I had some bad, depressed moments in my life when I was thinking of looking into scientology because I was looking for some place to belong. At the time I had no idea what scientology was, this was decades ago but I was thinking of looking into it, and who knows what could have happened if I did. There was no internet or bad press that I knew of back then so who knows! I was looking for answers to improve my life and I was at a low point so I could have got sucked in. I have been fascinated by scientology and cults for a number of years now and the people I see escaping or leaving do not seem like dumb people! They seem pretty normal and intelligent except for some extreme cases like Tom Cruz and David Misgavige but I think there just really evil! So I think given the right circumstances and the right coercion almost anyone could be tricked into it if they are at a vulnerable place in their lives. So don't beat yourself up about it, get yourself back together and move on! There is lots of help out there for people who got caught up in the same situation!
I really liked what she said about following our own inner guide. I definitely agree that seeing one person or idea is the answer is dangerous but she said it in such an elegant way and I needed to hear that.
I got THE VOW on NOW TV! I watched the whole two series, it gets much worse in the second when all the details come out! Very good documentary for true crime up to date awful people around the world! There’s some seriously sick people in the world the can manipulate so many women and men! But the women suffered some what more!! That man deserves to be where he is, and he deserved to be there until he dies! Thank you for your channel, I watched a-lot of the Scientology documentaries with Mike Rinder, I also watch Aaron’s pod casts! What another amazing man, willing to stand up to a ridiculous little man! Keep the greatness up!!
Once an organization announces to you that you're going to help the world become a better place - RUN for your life!... You are not supposed to help the world; all that one needs is to be is a great good individual with high morals, and that's great for you and eventually for the world as well.
I admire Allison Mack for NOT hiding her experience, for owning it, for being so articulate and educating us about cult-ish organizations and how slyly & insidiously they can subsume our identity. And that we ARE okay and glorious just being ourselves.
Generally, commenting on the appearances of YT people isn't appropriate, BUT today's guest has a beautiful face, and I am so glad she shared her experience. It shows that anyone can get ensnared in crappy situations - even the beautiful. Thanks for making this information available.
I told you in another video that I thought you were a great interviewer. I realised afterwards that you’re actually a journalist lol so that explains that. But again, such a great interview. You’re amazing. You’re so empathetic as well which really makes the interview more emotive. Thank you to you for doing this and Kelly for sharing her story.
No disrespect, or shortcomings towards you Mr Gold, but I feel like Kelly deserves just as much credit for carrying the interview as well.. It takes a lot for someone who had been in such despicable circumstances come forward and share their experiences 😟😟.. Praises to the both of you for bringing us this unspoken horrors that life can unfortunately deal you .. Salute from Detroit 👌👌..
This interview was very informative. I didn't know about this cult until hearing about it online. Cults are so dangerous and the people involved know exactly how to attract people. The cults know how to manipulate people and use abusive methods to keep their members inline. There definitely is a need to be educated and look for red flags when you doubt something or someone. Unfortunately cults don't ever consider what the victims have to deal with and the aftermath when they leave . Thank you for sharing this information for the public to hear .
Andrew - love this interview so much!!! You are so nice and she was a delight! I just fell onto your channel recently and I binge watch every chance I get!!
A charismatic leader doesn't need to purport his attributes real or imaginary. That's the beauty of being a charismatic leader, but they'll do it anyway because they will adhere to the command of their own egos.
Off the chart with the posts Andrew.. My routine has been upset!! I’m all in a panic now !! And to make matters even worse, @Nosferatu The Vampire tells me Edge Hogs are a cult too !! AHHHHHHHH😳😱
Haha so funny! I’ve been reuploading old episodes that had high watch duration but low clicks now that I have more subs. So it’s temporary that there are so many. Maybe for one more week. It’s a lot of editing tho so I don’t have much spare time to actually attend the premieres ! AND YES WE ARE A CULT. MWAHAHAHA
This was a fascinating interview. Kelly seems like a genuinely lovely person with some personal struggles. Perhaps her vulnerability was her sweetness and agreeableness. I often think cult victims are the same personality types as victims targeted in narcissistic relationships
In some ways SCN is like this cult as well. I wonder if Keith didn't just copy parts of it. Some things that come to mind: 1) Instead of "collateral" (factually extortion materials), in SCN you had sort of a confessional writeup "overt and withholds". You even sign them, they tell you it's just a matter of procedure, but you are basically signing your confession. People will confess to everything that is bothering them, including real crimes (up to including people confessed to murder, you name it) According to the church these are supposed to be bound like the "Seal of Confession". But I can tell you 100% since I was on staff people would gossip about them. Or people will say "oh so I heard you did this?", etc. And if people get on the wrong side of the church they are "fair game" and 100% they will go through your folder and look for these confessions to smear your name, try to drive you crazy, etc. 2) The sense of community. In cults you have this special sort of bond with people, because you believe (often directed) in the same doctrine. And the strong tribalism. As with any cult, you are told that "hey, you made the first smart step" and so on. No you are one of the special, the chosen ones, etc., us vs the world out there full of sinners ("WOGs" in SCN).
The whole time I was watching smallville, I had no idea Allison Mack was part of a cult. I wonder how many other actors in that show were also apart of the same cult?
I think just the woman who played Lana Lang but she supposedly wasn't in it as deep as Allison and was never involved with the sex slave aspect but who knows.
@34:30 Andrew, I hear your skepticism & i think about the guys in ESP & want you to interview Nippy (Sarah Edmondson’s husband) to get his perspective! He’s a “man’s man” type who was very much skeptical !
I don’t actually remember. Did we by the end ? I hope so or I have to change that. But we ARE talking about her this Monday on a live stream comparing her to Tom Cruise
@@AndrewGold1 having watched a number of videos/interviews about NXIVM, Alison Mack would be closer to Mike Rinder , and it would be Nancy Salzman who would be comparable to Tom Cruise. Nancy Salzman partnered with Keith from the beginning, recruited/groomed Alison, put her own daughter into the his harem, and was never put under the same conditions/requirements of other women in the group, not eating, not sleeping, etc... At least Nancy is finally serving her prison sentence.
@@AndrewGold1 aye that's what a said, it's her initials one way . Turn it on its and it's his initials, it's crazy. The second season of the vow is currently on sky Atlantic, it's all about nixvim, but you probably know that lol
They were told it was to be the size of a dime and it was to be a tattoo not a brand done by a non certified nurse type person that was part of nxivm…. She was not a nurse and had never given brands before …. I think that’s why they turned out sooo big…. Definitely not the size of a dime!!!
I just really don’t see myself falling for a cult. I’m not a people person. I’m not a super religious person. I just don’t let people in unless it’s direct family members. If a family member came to me about something like this, I’m the type of person that is constantly evaluating everything around me and my family. I someone tells me it’s raining I literally have to go outside to see if it’s raining😆🙈 I do believe some people are more prone to falling into things like this.
You are wise. I have found each family has the propensity to be cult-ish. Family secrets, not wanting to spoil the perception of a good family can be rather dramatic when one wakes up.
Maybe not a cult but anyone can be manipulated and if you think that it can’t happen to you then you are foolish. There are people who will make their lives goal to get a person to trust them, they play the role of a friend/loved one just to take advantage of you at the right moment. I have a friend, he is a lawyer, very smart doesn’t stop all lack common sense, owned several businesses. Somehow he met someone maybe thru his sister in law somehow he made his way into their family and the businesses then stole a huge amount of money. It happens, people suck, but God won’t mislead you..learning to listen to him is important.
The judge came down hard on Claire Brofman and rightly so, for she still believed in Raniere. And didn’t show or feel the proper remorse for what victims went through, particularly her not paying the Mexican victim who was not given ANY money after being promised by Claire to be the head of one of their inner organizations they had, which they gave different titles. He was really mad and commented in court to her she wasn’t going to get away with what she said. I think he felt she was manipulating or trying to manipulate the court with what she said during her alleged apology to the Mexican women, so he ordered she would pay her close to a 100 thousand dollars. Claire from what I read from victims and people that knew her became very cruel, and of course her money and connections gave him unlimited power. You would think after he lost over 65 million of her inheritance she would have been furious with him, but instead she believed his crazy conspiracy theory that he made up about her father, blaming him and his influence for Raniere losing the money. Edgar Brofman was heartbroken and commented that he thought that Keith was a grifter and con artist. The judge actually gave Claire more than the prosecutors recommended sentence. She has since lost any pleas legally to have her time reduced. They never talked about all the money these few people in the inner circle had, like Nancy having a half a million in shoe boxes. I think that Keith and possibly Nancy and others may have hid some of the money, if the FBI and prosecutors didn’t find it. He won’t get out so if he was successful he won’t be able to access it, and I don’t think he’s would give it to his biological sons, and I don’t know if he liked his father or would give any money to him. Brofman also gave one of his sons with the oldest Mexican sisters a inheritance, but didn’t give it to the other older member of NXVIM Christin who had a son with him, because she had I think resisted and criticized or disagreed with something that Claire did or said. She got lucky in a way that they never noticed she was pregnant so he couldn’t force ah abortion, because she didn’t show in later stages probably because they were all on starvation diets of 500 calories. I will say I wish he had been investigated and charged with the murder of the women in his inner circle because they found poisons in one of the survivors hair. I also think he may have poisoned his sick and ailing mother and that much of his resentment may have come from his role as a caregiver with his own mother, yet no one has talked about that part of his life. Nancy also admitted her mother suffers from chronic pain and had her whole life and while she was a child she watched her suffer, yet she also reveals her mother called her a dummy, so I wondered if her and Keith had that resentment in common. Nancy’s apathy and her ability to turn a blind eye to the people that suffered as a nurse is appalling. And I won’t let her off the hook for all the money she made at the expense of people’s suffering. Nancy Saltzman seemed to think peoples chronic pain was caused from a mental issue, which infuriates me. Chronic pain is not caused from mental issues! It’s from a physical issue or issues. And it’s very real and documented and many patients lead active fulfilling lives and still tried to lead active lives when their pain was addressed through medication and other other therapies to help them get relief. It’s not in their head and any good dr will tell you that! I know a good pain dr who never would blame his patients for their suffering or think they deserved it. She said she was counseling people in chronic pain clinics and essentially curing them and then she said they would basically make up other issues later, and have to come back. That infuriated me, she is not a licensed counselor or therapist and yet one of her victims Barbara Bouchey called her her therapist in the documentary and that is how they met and said she saw her for counseling, and later Nancy got her involved with NEXVIM because Barbara was a successful millionaire! I don’t care if it was 2 or 3 sessions you can’t say you are a therapist, when you aren’t. And that NLP she brags about is junk science. It makes me so angry I want to scream at people like her who have their own psychological issues from their own childhood. And blame patients for their suffering. People like her should never be allowed to be in the healing professions in any way! I’m infuriated her “little miss goody two shoes” act and naive act has not been called out. Her mother was shown and I could still see that resentment even though her mother is elderly and needed Nancy’s help, I could still feel it. I think she may love her as much as a person like her can love her but I also think she resents the hell out of her mother being a chronic pain patient in her early childhood. And I think this is what selfishly drove her to become involved with NLP and NEXVIM and it was a selfish motive that drove her so she could be lauded as this great person that cured and helped people. She even says where are the 17,000 people I helped that didn’t have bad experiences with the programs. She wants to be lauded as curing the Tourette’s patients even though the girl said yes I no longer have Tourette’s but at what cost?! Meaning she was severely traumatized! And Tourette’s will respond to certain therapies. So Nancy and Keith were no incredible pioneers in discovering a cure for Tourette’s or any other affliction or disease. They used junk science techniques and like the girl said in the documentary she has severe psychological Trauma thanks to their cruelty. And I think it’s wrong that all those women were more than likely slowly poisoned and died horrible deaths and yet he never had to answer for those horrible crimes. And he should be charged with wrongful death causing his young victim he groomed and sexually took advantage of who later killed herself. For me I still think he should have been investigated and charged even though he was charged with other serious charges and got a life long sentence. I think it disrespects the people that died. And the poisons probably did brain damage and physical damage as well making them easy to manipulate. He was giving them horrible tasting and horrible looking shakes. He also took Pam Caufitz (may have gotten her last name wrong) fortune who was from a wealthy prominent family, who was his first older original head slave who Alison Mack would replace as the kind of madam he used to recruit other girls and women. What she did was horrible, but I felt she had some kind of mental disability, she may have had some form of Autism or maybe the damage from the poisons made her that way. She was child like, in a way you see with children with issues, like special needs. She seemed slow. Although she was athletic and they met while skiing. He also had her on a starvation diet. He left her in her own waste while he ate breakfast with Nancy, who was a nurse and should have immediately gone and cared for her or seen she got care. She was dying so after leaving her in her own waste while they ate breakfast she did call an ambulance I think. Although you would think she would have noticed Pam didn’t have proper help wayyyy sooner. This was supposedly one of her close friends in NEXVIM and so were the other women but you never hear Nurse Nancy sound any alarm bells at why they were all getting cancer, in his inner circle. And that she never said hey this starvation diet is causing women’s periods cessation. She didn’t say one medically sound thing about the health of these women he was starving and more than likely poisoning that he lived with, his “older harem” which she was also a part of. She always was kissing and hugging him and had her head leaned against him. She even got cancer for Christ’s sake! You never heard Nurse Nancy who reminds me of Nurse Ratchet from one flew over the Cuckoo’s nest movie, and book except Nancy wanted to be seen as this nice caring women but underneath I think she is ass cold as ice. And I see things where she used her power to humiliate people. When that one Mexican women was crying and apologizing to the group for her failures and Nancy is looking at her while she does this, it looks like Nurse Nancy wants to scream at her or wants her to shut up. When she says she doesn’t understand what they are doing, I remember Nancy telling Barbra Bouchey you just don’t understand him do you, in regards to Keith instead of being concerned about her so called patient, since she was her so called “therapist”, and when that poor woman was crying after being manipulated and sexually abused by Keith, you saw no compassion from Nurse Nancy as she was forced to humiliate her self in front of the other members publicly which is in the documentary. When she started saying how great Nancy’s and Keith were you see Nurse Nancy smugly look at her like yes you are too tiny brained to understand our great mission. And she gives her this smug clenched smile and shakes her head to barely acknowledge her as she cries. I can’t stand her and I hope she will have a come to Jesus moment at the damage she did and that she could have stopped it at any time, saved her daughters and countless other young when and older women her age. She even denied herself of having a life partner or another husband. And it’s hard to have any pity for her knowing like I said she could have stopped it by going to the feds and police since she was the head of the business side of the organization and so called 2nd in Charge, they would have taken her seriously. And she would have had the records and so on to PROVE IT! But she never once did that. Not even to save her own daughter.
If Andrew had taken the time to thoroughly read articles (NYTimes, The Atlantic, WaPo, BBC, and The Guardian have all covered this extensively) or watched clips of the docs, he'd be a much better interviewer, and capable of asking more relevant questions. A lot of time in this interview is spent on irrelevant background info, most of which the average viewer will be aware of via the publications above. I had started to get into Andrew's interviews recently, but this one solidified for me that he doesn't have the journalistic process to conduct an interview that actually gets to the heart of the subject.
the average viewer doesn't read all those newspapers though. they watch youtube, and get their info direct from people like me. so although you were clued up, i have to consider people who aren't taylor russo. the second thing is that this episode was recorded initially right at the start of nxivm falling apart - so, before many of those articles had even been written. some of those articles may have even used this video as a primary source. i would just add to what you said about my journalistic process that i won an award for my journalism last night at the audio production awards...it is one of many journalistic awards i've won, including ones at film festivals. i've conducted journalism all around the world, and done so in 5 different languages. i'm sorry this wasn't to your taste!
It all comes down to weak mindedness and the need to depend on others for your own self well being. I find it incredible that people fall for this stuff.
@@RMF76 oh you mean IN the video it's not her. Look, the way youtube works is that if people enjoy the content, the video spreads. and it is, so far, spreading. so people like it.
@@Anne-pv9cb Acting is an artwork, not all are capable of, like singing,. I wonder what happened in Allison's life that caused her to become so mesmerized by Keith, and capable of such monstrous abuse herself. Narcissism is possible too. We all have some of those traits, but not the full-blown multiple aspects of that incurable character disorder. Having been abused by quite a few, I have been researching it for a while. It was a real shock when this came out. I'd really enjoyed Smallville, but never would have pegged her in such a way. Now? Wow. TV isn't the brainwasher. Some part of you has to grant permission.
So all of these women didn't or weren't able to talk amongst themselves and say, "Gee, he's having sex with you and you and you, too?!" They just blindly slept with this thing and didn't have any intuition or instinct that this is a crock of shit? Plus, they recruited friends to sleep with him? I don't get it. Once again, following one man or one woman is complete insanity. There is not one person on this planet who has ALL THE ANSWERS.
@geekandglitter "Be alone. That's the secret of invention. Be alone. That is when ideas are born." Nikola Tesla Cults are not the answer. Everyone can guide their own life without relying on some insane human to dictate and control them and do it for them. Question EVERYTHING. Rely on yourself.
She's right we already have thar inside of us tell her to look up numerology bless her go with in we don't need anyone to tell us it's our spiritual journey not she's right no one person people take advantage
Yes, we all like to think we would not be susceptible to this kind of mind control. As for myself, when I was younger (and very lost) I could have seen myself falling for someone like this. Luckily, I have no money, therefore I am safe from this kind of influence 😏
But this lady is Kelly not Alison. Whilst it's an interesting interview is she trying to plug her book, profiting off being a high up recruiter? I feel a bit unsure on her motives here.
Would this cult have been in Beverly Hills in late 70's? I worked as a salad girl at a tiny place, The Breadwinner. A girl who worked there, briefly, had one.
I hate when certain religions say they treat women well because they teach that women need to be worshipped and protected as special princesses. It’s just a nice sounding way of calling women weak and incapable.
I keep hearing this line about how it can it happen to anyone. Doesn't matter how smart you are etc. I still don't believe it. It may be true that you can be intelligent and be sucked in by a cult but I simply can't believe that someone who isn't very credulous can be. Even the word "charismatic". She talking about how the guy essentially presents himself as being like the smartest guy in the world etc. How, how, how does an intelligent person who isn't hyper credulous get taken in by that? How do people not wake up when truly absurd shit starts to happen? Maybe it's possible but I would have to see it to believe it.
The ONLY difference between a cult and a religion is the number of believers. I spent 42 years in the Church if England cult before I came to my senses (triggered by the nonsense given about why women couldn't become priests)
Interesting info, but she should have been locked up for 120 as well. It’s blantently obvious she is on the same crazy train as her wife and former leader. She is completely pulling the same moves on you she pulled on those women. Making you and everyone else believe she didn’t know. She is a turd and should have been buried in jail too. She should feel guilt and live with guilt not propering herself up in your blog, if she was a good person but it’s obvious that’s not the case

Thank you both for this. The best way to fight against this sort of thing is to learn and teach and protect. It has nothing to do with intelligence.
I’d like to say that I grew up in a dysfunctional “Christian” Pentecostal home. It wasn’t considered a cult, still isn’t but in many many ways it’s similar. Lot’s of brain washing, guilt and fear.

The Latin word nexum describes a form of slavery based on blackmail … Keith just added the i.
Once an organization announces to you that you're going to help the world become a better place - RUN for your life!... You are not supposed to help the world; all that one needs is to be is a great good individual with high morals, and that's great for you and eventually for the world as well.
I appreciate the work you do on your channel exposing the workings of various cults such as NXIVM.
I admire Allison Mack for NOT hiding her experience, for owning it, for being so articulate and educating us about cult-ish organizations and how slyly & insidiously they can subsume our identity. And that we ARE okay and glorious just being ourselves.

This was a fascinating interview. Kelly seems like a genuinely lovely person with some personal struggles. Perhaps her vulnerability was her sweetness and agreeableness. I often think cult victims are the same personality types as victims targeted in narcissistic relationships
Glad it resonated Michelle !
Allison Mack (three years in prison ) got a slap on the wrist for luring other females into this cult. It's quite disgusting actually.
BTW, in a New York Times interview, Mack claimed that the human branding was her idea.
3 years it should b 300
Virginia Giuffre got no prison time, just a cash settlement as a "victim" even though she lured under age girls into prostitution
In some ways SCN is like this cult as well.
I wonder if Keith didn't just copy parts of it.
Some things that come to mind:
1) Instead of "collateral" (factually extortion materials), in SCN you had sort of a confessional writeup "overt and withholds".
You even sign them, they tell you it's just a matter of procedure, but you are basically signing your confession.
People will confess to everything that is bothering them, including real crimes (up to including people confessed to murder, you name it)
According to the church these are supposed to be bound like the "Seal of Confession".
I have battled with an eating disorder and I know very well what eating 500 cals a day does to your mind and body.
The whole time I was watching smallville, I had no idea Allison Mack was part of a cult. I wonder how many other actors in that show were also apart of the same cult?
Many people
I think just the woman who played Lana Lang but she supposedly wasn't in it as deep as Allison and was never involved with the sex slave aspect but who knows.
Kristen Kreuk introduced Allison to the group, but disengaged early on.
I think those recruiters should serve time as well. Even if they are victims to a degree, they committed a horrible crime.
This one's kind of a cross between Jim Jones but a bit more organized.. dare I say mainstream. 🤨✨ Really appreciate your videos!! 💯

@@AndrewGold1 having watched a number of videos/interviews about NXIVM, Alison Mack would be closer to Mike Rinder , and it would be Nancy Salzman who would be comparable to Tom Cruise.
Dont underestimate scammers. They can smell ur weaknesses and manipulate them to get what they want. But they usually prey on vulnerable people.
You are wise. I have found each family has the propensity to be
cult-ish.
I can say with certainty, 100 percent, this would never ever happen to me. I really do not get it.
It is Albany NY not elbany NY
It's crazy all these cults that's going on
Who is the interviewee and what was her role in NXIVM?
Kelly Thiel was a member of it
With the branding thing, it ain't just Keith's initials it's also Alison mac's 😁

Acting is an artwork, not all are capable of, like singing,. I wonder what happened in Allison's life that caused her to become so mesmerized by Keith, and capable of such monstrous abuse herself. Narcissism is possible too. We all have some of those traits, but not the full-blown multiple aspects of that incurable character disorder. Don't be so judgmental. Look into mind-control, brainwashing and hypnosis and how they all work. The human brain can be complicated.
@@wordivore I know about mind control, brainwashing and hypnosis. I was raised a Catholic. We need to rely on each other, not ONE MAN OR WOMAN.

Cults are not the answer. Everyone can guide their own life without relying on some insane human to dictate and control them and do it for them. Question EVERYTHING. Rely on yourself.
My father was 5’6”. We didn’t consider it short.
Keith had a sweet life. Shouldn't have messed it up with stupid branding.
She's right we already have thar inside of us tell her to look up numerology bless her go with in we don't need anyone to tell us it's our spiritual journey not she's right no one person people take advantage
Haha... "Who do you think you are bozo".
Yes, we all like to think we would not be susceptible to this kind of mind control. As for myself, when I was younger (and very lost) I could have seen myself falling for someone like this. Luckily, I have no money, therefore I am safe from this kind of influence 😏
Definitely a cult. Not for the passers through but for the ones that stayed and stayed and stayed.
AG....what a stupid question? After the explanation of the "hiding" of the slave spelling? You ask, "what are they trying too spell?
Doh...
Mfs will buy into anything.
I think I used to model with this girl in San Diego….
So Andrew is Heightist… and apparently that’s a real word…?
Andrew, people don't appreciate being manipulated! YOU KNOW this title is click bait & did it purposely 🙄 You are better then this bs & the other 'tips' you have picked up to increase viewers & subscriptions. You should rethink many of these & stop. Although they may help in the short-term, they will no doubt turn off many like me who won't be able to trust anything from you any longer.
Lol You put this comment before it aired bc you support nxivm or Scientology lol soooo obvious 😮
@@AngelsVoiceASMR You sound ridiculous lolol & couldn't be more wrong 🙄 I put the comment because his recent actions had me check the description pretty sure it wasn't going to be Mack he talked to like was insinuated in the title. Stop embarrassing yourself...I was anti cult before you likely even knew what scientology or nxivm was 🙄
Edit: Thank you for making your ridiculous accusation so I could be more clear on the issue I was responding to ;o)
It will be fabulous! Not click bait at all, troll.
I don't think it's clickbait , what about it do you find to be false? Having a different opinion isn't automatically trolling
@@equality379 Thank you. If not for having caught on to the kind of 'tips' he has been following I might not have either. Could be a result of a sum of them but I felt the title was worded specifically to make people believe he would be talking TO Mack & not about Mack among other things. I can't be the only one who finds it ridiculous & seemingly intentional her name is mentioned first when who he is talking to isn't mentioned at all.
I also find it incredibly sad & worrysome for the future that people jumped to accusation & insult to apparently 'stand up for their guy' without even reading the entire comment & understanding the point & that it wasn't a shot but honest opinion & suggestion ugh :o( Especially when I've heard him discuss such things & know if he saw it would know EXACTLY what I was talking about.
hey Andrew
maybe do just a bit of research beforehand...?
how do you not know how to pronounce the dudes name...?
Doula or Doulos is the Greek word for slave.
Dropped the ball on short people eh!
Honestly it seems like you needed to do more research on it before this interview. Though if it was done before the documentary came out I'll give you a pass.
