Caste is not something that I have ever felt with, but if there is a community going through these injustices then we definitely should add it to the anti-discrimination laws.

11:07 This woman belongs to the Brahmin caste. So of course she has never experienced caste discrimination. She's literally part of the very top echelon of her culture. Something tells me the people who are against this bill are not part of the Dalit caste. I'm a white man who knows almost nothing about the caste system. But a quick google turns up immediate results for which caste a certain family belongs to. Which tells me that it's not a thing of the past. If it were, then this information wouldn't be readily available on the internet.

Your also a stupid white man that does not understand he lives under a caste system and is the dog. What do you think minority rights, anti semitism, all the double standards and hypocrisy are? We live in a country that oppresses the development of white people and uses us through taxes, etc to develop foreigners. Split the smallhats from the ethnic Europeans and you will find that the 1% that makes white people the wealthiest is largely made up of small hats. Funny how when they tally that data Jewish are not separate from white people but in every other category they get separate ethnic rights. Are they a minority or not? lol

I thought Indians came to the U.S to get away from that crap. Maybe this is a dumb question, but how do Indian Americans even know what caste other Indian Americans are from, anyway? Couldn't they lie about it and change their name when they move here? Normally lying is a bad thing but I totally wouldn't blame an Indian immigrant if they did that. I mean they're coming here for the so-called "American Dream," right? Another dumb question, do the higher caste Indian immigrants ever also discriminate against, or at least look down on native born Americans who are not Indian, or people from other countries based on caste, even though other cultures don't technically have it?

Every race has its caste system. For example, "poor white trash" might be considered a caste. But in the U.S., caste is more of a socioeconomic thing with racial overtones. Immigrants coming from countries of a single race with different castes seems totally different and relevant only to other ppl coming from those countries. Within a couple of generations, the caste system that they brought with them will mostly be gone. The class system in the U.S. is a function of wealth and all that typically goes with having money -- superior education, white collar jobs, upscale neighborhoods.

WOW! This is a topic that needs to be discussed more and more, and people’s lived experiences need to be shared. In order for us to evolve, and change for the better we need to keep working towards making everyone’s lives better no matter what race, color, or caste.

Graduate high school, learn a trade or go to college (where skin color and immigration status is already your ticket in), and don't have children until you are married and financially stable. That's the closest recipe to success there will ever be. We don't need more "solutions" to problems that don't exist!!!

I’ve never heard this discussed as an issue in America. I think they might be referring to Indians dealing with each other (for example) and dealing with discrimination within their own communities.

USA is a great country. There is no discrimination in USA. Just obey the US government, the US law and be grateful to God or just leave the country.

You must not know how to read or have critical thinking skills. (The first amendment to the US Constitution states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." The two parts, known as the "establishment clause" and the "free exercise clause" respectively, form the textual basis for the Supreme Court's interpretations)

i agree with everything but the god part. being "grateful" to something that doesn't exist. isn't a requirement to be in the US.
