  • He is known as America's greatest architect, and he left his mark in St. Louis. The Frank Lloyd Wright House in Ebsworth Park is out-of-the-box architecture.
The birds get the best view of the two intersecting parallelograms. But for the rest of us without wings, the views from the ground are still mesmerizing.
Before it became a public site, it was the residence of the Krauses. They had read an article from House Beautiful in 1949 about building a house with Frank Lloyd Wright, and it was a middle-class household. So, they decided to reach out to him through a letter, and he wrote back and said he would be glad to design their home.
After a long process, their dream became a reality. The house is constructed with 60-degree and 120-degree angles. Even the furniture is designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
The entry way may feel claustrophobic for a taller person, but Wright built it that way on purpose as a way to kind of push you into the house.
of this is made possible thanks to the nonprofit that maintains the home, its members, and donations that keep it going.
The Frank Lloyd Wright House in Ebsworth Park is located at 120 N. Ballas Rd. in Kirkwood, Missouri. It is open to the public for tours. For more information, call (314) 822-8359 or visit ebsworthpark.org/.

Fascinating and beautiful! FLW was from Oak Park, same place Hemingway was from. I wonder if there was something in the water in that town. Both of them seriously avant garde artists, Hemingway felt constricted and escaped to France, FLW set about altering the environment in his own country.

Frank Lloyd Wright was from Richland Center, Wisconsin, not Oak Park. He lived and worked in Oak Park at the beginning of his career.

Not quite sure why one must be audacious to ask FLW to design a house…though certainly homeowners didn’t know what they were getting themselves into. Don’t get me wrong, love FLW’s work, it I hear he was a piece of work himself.

Not an inexpensive house. The material waste on a house that can even get 120 degree corner bricks (!!) will eat up a budget.

Anyone who narrates videos of historical architecture, particularly the extraordinary and well documented work of Frank Loyd Wright, has a duty to study the subject before opening their mouths and chattering inanities about it. The video work is equally amateurish, especially on the interior. Pro-tip: use a wide angle lens in interiors.

Not really certain you are qualified to make these comments? A wide angle lense? - use your eyes.
