Hi! Loved this video! I’ve been rocking my UB since 2017 and I have been doing so hard. Mine have gone into rivers, climbed volcanos and helped me walk many kilometers (despite my having a handicap)… and I have kept them clean by washing them in my washing machine! The insoles died about 3y in, but I actually find them more comfortable without the insoles. When I took them out, they had thinned out so it went from feeling like a shoe to a sock on a cloud. Anyhow, I’m considering replacing them soon just because the black Goodyear grid is running thin… and so I saw your review of the UB 22, and have to thank you for it! You really answered all my questions while hesitating between DNA and 22. Thanks!
Hi Ana G Cisky! Thank you so much for your kind testimony of my reviews! I'm really happy I can help out those who need my reviews. Your advertures sound amazing, I hope you have many more with your new pair of sneakers. All the best 👌
Did you know that fabric is actually more of a beige/yellow/cream colour when it's made and then dyed afterwards? So, when you use bleach it takes it back to the same cream/yellow/beige colour...it's far better to use a cup of a proper stain remover like Vanish or Dr Beckmann's stain removers, because it will maintain the glow of the white, not the natural fabric colour. I've also just seen a video on using a Sharpie oil based paint pen on the boost sole, it seems to work quite well too ;)
Bleach yellows sneakers. Even white ones. And before you wash it, you should use a brush and soap to scrub it. You don’t even need to have sneaker cleaner like Jason mark. You can get an unused toothbrush and dish soap with water. It’ll clean the shoes completely.
David Alvarez I heard a lot of stories about bleach giving the shoe a yellow color😬😬 but there are other videos on how to do this (you should use a shoe tree too)
BillyVisuals Deadstock V1 Triple Whites are cream, it doesn't change from aging or bleach. My pair that I bought over a year ago has the same amount of "yellow" as it did when I first got them.
The yellowing actually DOES come with age & use. It doesn't stay perfectly white forever. My miAdidas multicolors are white and are already yellowing as well
The yellow is from the bleach...I learned when I yellowed my white vans 😓 . I use oxy clean now, I use soft brush with oxyclean, without rinsing throw in washer with some blue detergent and a tiny bit more of oxy clean.
I have a question I noticed that you used clear detergent, do you think blue color detergent will damage the shoe? And by damage i mean make it look blueish or not white
I think you'd be fine with just throwing it into the wash. I got a lot of mud on my NMBs (don't ask, I was being dumb) and I thought they were ruined but I was able to throw them into the wash and they came out looking brand new except where the tread connects to the boost but that's even hardly noticeable.
I usually place my flyknits inside an empty pillowcase and tie it off at the opening just for some protection from my washing machines cycle. But i have a front loader so its a little different. Either way it really does work quite well. I also use a brand of detergent called Vanish by Napisan its got a mix of things in it to make it whiter and remove hard stains without staining over time like normal detergents can. Also comes in one for all colours in case you want hard stain removal without using bleach. By the way sick vid bro, loving your channel.
I have recently bought ultraboosts and the boost is black and the primenit is white is this method safe or will it peel off the black color on the boost
I think it might just peel the black boost. I don't think you should use this method. I have heard using resolve or oxy clean to wipe the upper would help a lot. Good luck!
JJHoKING yeah I tried with my pair without bleach just 1/2-3/4 cup of blue detergent and the shoe looks brand new , of course I put the shoes inside a white pillowcase as well as the laces .
Why did you use Lysol wipes when you're going to put it in the machine anyway? Jason Mark cleaner is just a low grade dishwashing liquid, same chemical solution with more water, but without color dyes.
