That lure is like a giant Bass Stopper, not surprised at all that it works so well. It's amazing how aggressive those cudas are. Awesome video as always, sir!
I LOVE Cuda fishing! A quick tip! With that cuda tube, keep it moving and moving fast. As an apex predator fish, they are triggered by aggressive bait fish movement that is fleeing from them! If you let the tube stop moving, you'll notice them ( the cuda ) veer off....
First off, you thank th Lord Jesus for giving us all these gifts & NObody else that I watch Does 😢 don’t kno Why that is??? 2nd of all THANKYOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY!!! I just turned 62 & would buy All th Gas just to spend a few hours on th water w/You! Never been out but once on a nearshore trip that my wife bought me for my 60th birthday. Would love to do it again sometime!!! Keep the great content, comin Buddy!!! 🙏4✌️4🇺🇸😎🏍
I caught a 4 foot cuda yesterday on a 2000 size reel with 15 lb braid and 25 lb floro leader. Funnest fight I’ve ever had I mainly freshwater fish and that fish made me wanna move to the coast. Pulled drag for a solid 5 minutes.
Love your videos, Steven! One of the best fishing channels on TH-cam! Nice catches! I’m going to have to pick up one of those Cuda tubes! Stay Safe and God Bless!
I am disabled but i enjoy to fish just haven't been in 20 years or so you are making me want to get out there again..i think im going to try smith lake up here. Salute from Cullman Alabama 😊😊😊😊
What? You're not going to cook them for us? CRIKEY! WE GOT BAMBOOZLED...HORNSWAGGLED...LED DOWN THE PRIMROSE PATH! Just playing Steven! Your videos are addicting! I'm always looking for the next one! Keep up the good work!
@4:20 - It was probably 1978 and my old man ran a sport fishing boat (Miss Norris) off of Coronado Island near San Diego. He would often come home with large catches. One day he brought home a 'cuda about that size. One thing led to another, and he ended up having to bury the fish in the garden. The reason why escapes me as I was just a youngin. Fast forward a week or so and the 'cuda starts to curl up. Mum goes out to the garden for something and finds a huge 'cuda head and 'cuda tail sticking up out of the ground. The rents had a spirited discussion about that whole event.
Nice one, bro. Been more decades that care to think about since hooked into a cuda. It was 1971 staying at the Newport in Miami that has the pier. Was throwing a cuda tube when what looked like a log shot out from under pier, took off, and turned the reel to scrap. On my bucket list to have a rematch sometime if I ride down to see my sister in Sebring LOL
As usual, your content is just plain fun to watch! Thanx! Brings back decades of memories! I have to ask… How far offshore do you have to go to not be fishing in a crowd? Times have changed…
Thank you! and heck, it depends everyday these days. Everyone has access to the public charts and boat sales are out the roof. It's nice to see everyone enjoying the waters though!
I wonder if those followers could be enticed to strike if you tried the "figure 8" technique, like musky fishermen use? After the encounter you had the other day, I'm glad you did another video for us!
When I lived in Sierra Leone the locals caught Cuda with hand lines in dugout canoes . They cleaned them and cooked them right on the beach for us tourist . It was great .
I hope you aren't changing how you video your time on the water. It seems I miss your casual interaction on this one. Just remember You are what makes this channel great! the fish you catch are a plus, but you make it enjoyable!
I don’t know if you know, but inside the warf marina is loaded with pinfish, me and some buddies were fishing there and we couldn’t keep one off the line in shallow spots next to the sea wall
Out here at the campground right now in Fort Morgan. Went yesterday at the fishing beach yesterday with my slurp pump I made at home thinking I'm going to catch all sorts of ghost shrimp, to my undelight water is to murky to see the holes, 😂. Anyways only bait I had was some off brand fish gum, ( Magic bait).😅 That stuff magically keeps the fish away from your hook.😂. Anyways no luck. Going prepared today though, got some squid, and bringing my flea rake and my cast net. Wish me luck.🤟
I have been trying to catch up to you at your favorite store. I missed yesterday by minutes I saw your truck and boat I have been wanting to go out fishing with you and willing to pay for stuff. I'm also a veteran of USMC and I love learning from you.
I absolutely love manual spinning reels like yours VS's. I'm somewhat partial to the gold spool 706's myself and have a few green 706's also. The VS's are still a little too rich for my blood at this point, but any manual spinning reel is awesome in my book !!!
Steve, I'm an elderly lady with25% heart function left I love your channel but son, you almost killed me today watching you by yourself and those 'cuddas! Whew thank you Jesus for keeping him safe!
Typically I would want to save gas if inshore fishing. When I'm offshore, I do not cut my motor off, just a preventive measure in case it doesn't start up again.
Finally get to see you land a killer red in season . We used to catch Barricuda in Mexico. The locals would help us eat them by making Cuda tacos. Course this was 50 years ago. Great vid
Good stuff ! Curious, why use spinning tackle when bait fishing in deeper water ? Conventional reels are far superior for that type of fishing..Seems like a down south thing..In the Northeast,conventional/baitcaster is whats used when power is needed to get that fish off the bottom..Enjoy !
Just caught a few Barracuda off of Carolina Beach on Saturday. Captain insisted that it was delicious and to trust him and try it. Was not disappointed! Extremely good, flaky meat.
How do you know when the Gulf is gonna be glass like that? Every time I go out, I'm catching stuff but I'm gettin tossed around in a 27' boat. I'd love to be out there when the water is calm like that. Thanks!
I’ll be headed to orange beach on Thursday, have you heard any reports of where the yellowfin may be? Im bringing my boat and we want to try to catch some yellowfin on poppers
I caught a 6 footer in Boy Scouts as a kid, Captain said she wouldn't take it on the boat cause of the teeth, no sooner she said it the barracuda jumped and snapped the heavy steel leader
Thank you! And I have put the IO 7'3" M to the test and it has performed perfectly for my style of fishing ! Here's the link to the one I use! www.jandh.com/products/dark-matter-io731m-s-io-spinning-rods.html?rfsn=7518583.1aba08&c=41941
Your making this 12hr shift better and in the Air Force a 12 is technically a 16, so I appreciate this video to help the time go by.

Imagine only having 12 hour shifts 😂/sorry I’m honestly jealous in the army btw

Nice fish altogether and nice video. It's always a pleasure to watch. Keep up the good work!

About time to bring your awesome mom with you ! I'm one of her biggest fans ya know ! Otherwise great day on the water !!

Great Video Bama, wish we coulda seen the clean and cook of it. Never seen one of barracuda
Agreed kind of a let down
@@ragnarragnarsson3128 I was praying after he caught the big snapper that he was going to cut to his cutting table😂
For sure!! I am working on a Cuda CCC as we speak!

Super fun! They are amazing predators !
Braver than I am pulling a cuda of that size into the boat by yourself! Great catches and awesome video like always! Really enjoy your content!
Thank you!!
What a channel!! My favorite saltwater channel by far! Thanks Steven for the awesome video's!!

How far offshore do you go for barracuda?
This video was 25 miles out, but you can catch them from local piers and occasionally beaches as well!
Always a good time when Steve posts
Love your videos! Been fishing my whole life but just got my first boat and like watching your videos to learn more and get tips. Thanks

Wanted to see how you prepped and cooked the Cudda. Can you do that one time
I am making a Cuda Catch, Clean, Cook very soon! Thanks!
All the different species in 1 video is awesome!
It's pretty amazing to fish here for sure!
Going to be a great Friday now that BAMA saltwater put a video up.
Yezzir!
What Absolutely Gorgeous Video Of The Gulf!
Absolutely Amazing
Another great video. Those Barracuda were amazing. I really enjoy your videos. Heading to the east coast tomorrow, hopefully get on some fish.
Good luck! Get after em !
How did you prepare and cook that cuda?
Grilled on flat top! Really good meat, filming a catch, clean cook for the channel soon!!

Another blessed and wonderful day on the water. You must be living right. 😊
Definitely blessed for sure!
Hey Stephen.
Great video. Thank you. Maybe one of these days, you could do a video on the cooking of a Cuda, and let us know?
Yes!! it's in the works !
I’ll be looking for my invitation to the fish fry😂😅!! Lol man you filled the cooler! Oh wait you gave it all away 😅😂
I wonder if those followers could be enticed to strike if you tried the "figure 8" technique, like musky fishermen use? After the encounter you had the other day, I'm glad you did another video for us!
Definitely !! I did it a few times but the trolling motor or boat shadow kinda have them skittish close in
You have to show us how to clean and cook that barracuda
Yes!! It's in the works 100%!
When I lived in Sierra Leone the locals caught Cuda with hand lines in dugout canoes . They cleaned them and cooked them right on the beach for us tourist . It was great .
Super cool for sure! I know it's eaten globally, so cool to experience !

Thank you!
Cool video. Should have made it a clean and cook video. Those are my favorite. Interested to see how the barracuda turned out. Keep it up.
I leave in the Caribbean. My dad was a fisherman. I've eaten barracuda all my life. Even now, I have some in the freezer. Never gotten ill from it.
Awesome to hear!! Its meat is very pretty and white and pretty dang good!
Awesome sky on the cuda! Great vid too bro!
Nice catch and yeah, they are good eating. 👍🏼
Can you do a video on spade fish. I see lots of them around the end of the gulf state pier but I can't get them to bite.
One day! We used to catch them all the time on small pieces of shrimp, squid, or fishbites with really light leader and small hooks.
@@BamaSaltwater That is what we used but we only caught the small ones. They we all around the bottom of the boat.
Great post. Would love to see how the Cuda turned out once cooked. I have never had it.

Lmao the sound of the trigger being vented is exactly how I feel when I lose a slow pitch jig
Haha sameeee!
I caught mine first ever saltwater yesterday it was a cow nose ray
Heck yeah, those are cool!
Congrats on 150k subscribers Stephen! I there are 20x more to come.
Thank you!!
Love the channel! Thank 😂you. The first minutes of fishing I was screaming Reel Faster! With cudas you cannot jig too fast. Haha
Been waiting on this all week!

Was hoping for this after the last video. Great job!
Amazing segment, great snapper action
Happy to share! Glad you enjoyed the vid!
Nice job on 150k! And the ‘cudas were awesome! Keep uploading and you’ll reach 1 milly!
Thank you!!
Love your videos, have you ever tried red fishing line?
Question? Why do you have your main motor running while using your trolling motor? I would think you want to save gas
Typically I would want to save gas if inshore fishing. When I'm offshore, I do not cut my motor off, just a preventive measure in case it doesn't start up again.
Do you go out for black fin tuna? Would love to see that 🎣🎣🎣 If you don’t no worries bro… Love your channel 🎣🎣🎸🎸
ty for another great vlog...
Lotta fish... I was always told 'cuda not good eating, till a friend brought some from Florida n grilled it...delish!! Thank you!

I love it, yes! I have caught and landed numerous huge tarpon and small ones too. Will get one on video soon! Thanks!
You know them Zoom super flukes(bass baits) ? Dude if they made them in a 12 or 18 inch model it would be insane watching them cudas nail it !!!
Very enjoyable Steve.
My brother's mackerel resistance extraordinary.....
Nice cuda keep up the good work
Fun to watch! But I wouldn't eat a gar or a barracuda. Love my Bama Saltwater hat. Thnx!
Steve buddy, I can watch you all day fishing.
Thank you! I love it !
Just personal preference ! I use a lot of both.
If been hoping for a cuda video ever since you lost that big one on the cuda tube a couple of videos ago

Was out 70 miles last Thursday around Oil Rigs. They were busting all over around noon. We came back with one !
Love your videos keep them coming
I caught a 6 footer in Boy Scouts as a kid, Captain said she wouldn't take it on the boat cause of the teeth, no sooner she said it the barracuda jumped and snapped the heavy steel leader
Great catch! I’ve had my eye on that rod but it’s been hard to find first hand info on it. Think I’m gonna pull the trigger after seeing the video 😊

I love your videos man I watch you with my nana and Grandaddy since there thinking to move where you are
Fresh fish for your neighbor, now that’s a nice gesture! Great video!
I catch so much, I like to share with friends and family !!
Another action-packed fishing trip!!! You have to let us know how that Cuda tasted if you ate any.
Very pretty white meat, personally better than king mackerel !
We need to know about the Cuda? Was it good?
Yes! Cleaner than a king mack. I'm making a CCC video for one soon
i've gotten to the point I start jonesing waiting for your next video
That was a heck of a day... want to know how that Cuda tasted. Did you soak the fillets in milk to get the "stank" out? Cheers.
Thanks! I did not have to soak the fillets. They had zero smell for me, it was just the skin that stunk! Very pretty and good meat !
Good morning bama
Man wanted to see the cuda clean and cook
In the works!!! Soon ;)
Awesome job brother..
