    I haven't purchased it GP 100 yet, but I did own it's predecessor, .the Service-Six. That gun is built like a tank and can handle very hot loads like they're nothing. It's a hand cannon so be sure to wear ear protection when you shoot it. That blued one in your left hand is a righteous one. The sights are Improved. The grips are bigger than what mine came with. The sights are keener. I'm pretty sure you can field strip it for cleaning. .Mine could. RUGER is second to none as far as Customer Service is concerned. Personally, I love shooting that gun!! I am convinced Ruger makes the BEST!!

      Thanks. Gonna run it like I should and see if it holds up. I'm not too worried about it.

    We have the same taste in Guns, I have both of those and put Pacmyre grips on the SP 101 and love it!

    I looked at the GP100s, but went with a Kimber K6 dasa. I imagine the extra size and weight of the GP helps with recoil better.
    Also Chigs Grips make some nice custom wood grip inserts for the rugers. I have a pair of custom maple burl grips on my 480 super blackhawk bisley. Giggedy indeed! Also from MN here.

      Oh, man. I've been eyeing the 480 for a long time. Haven't been able to bring myself to pick one up, yet. My 44 Rh covers that ground pretty well for where I hunt. I like the look of the kimber, just trying to round out a collection of Clapp guns before I wander into another platform. Cheers!

    I have a 4” gp100 and LOVE it. Been looking into the sp101 for more carry purpose… how does it ccw and how is it handling those stout magnums. My GP just eats them alive and is such a joy to shoot.

    • @striven82
      @striven82  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The SP101 carries awesome in the proper holster. With the factory rubber grips, magnum loads are stout, but not painful. Smaller wooden grips might beat you up a little more.

    Can you carry that on a regular leather belt comfortably?

    • @youngboyharless9769
      @youngboyharless9769 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If by regular you mean a floppy 5$ walmart belt.. no. But a decent leather 1.5 inch gun belt with no flop, yes.

    How’s the stock da trigger? Is it too heavy? Is it smooth?

    • @striven82
      @striven82  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think the stock trigger is fine. It's smooth, but a little on the heavy side. I don't have a problem with it. Thanks for commenting.

    GP100 Match Champion 4.2 inch
    SP101 2.25 Wiley Clapp
    Both .357 magnum
    Love them.
    I thought Wiley was pronounced with a long i sound and not a short i. I might have been saying his name incorrectly? Don't know.

    Nice vid. but it's Wiley like "the coyote" not like Willy as in "Wonka and the Chocolate factory". Smh. I'm about to press the trigger on the 1752 model number. Very cool guns brah.

      @@striven82 No problem, just wanted you to to know the difference between your "Willy" and your "Wiley". If that makes any sense. Again, good vid. and thank you.
