- After asking my "fans" I'm happy that a few camping related kit reviews and videos wont hurt so I hope you find this Tarp / Awning set up guide useful or even a little bit entertaining.
I used this set up to extend the porch (vestibule) area of my tent so I could sit outside and remain dry in the event of a few showers. It worked well so I thought I'd share this little video and show you what I did.
Camping tarps are lightweight and a great addition to your camping kit.
They provide an easy way to extend your living space and help keep dry when camping in wet weather.
Plus, it's MUCH safer to cook under tarp shelter than in your tent.
If you want more protection from the elements, put up some windbreaks around the sides.
The items in the video can be bought from Amazon via these affiliate links.
There will be others but these were the ones in stock when I needed to arrange this set up a few weeks back.
Poles (packs of 2) - amzn.to/2UNnD56
I actually bought the 1.7m version of these poles for £16.99, they don't seem to be available right now.

As I said in the video mine is the 1.4m x 2.1m version and cost me £12.99, but there are numerous sizes here. ........

Doggo definitely has the right attitude for this adventure.
Love my dogs… 🥰
Best Tarp setup I seen 👌
Thanks for the Great Video!
Wow, thanks! It was pretty simple - I was just looking to add a porch to my little tent.
Thank you so much for this. I have been looking for something like this to create a dry area outside my tent. Thank you
So easy to pack up and not too expensive either.
Good thinking on having the guy lines pre tied. I'm going to copy that.
Anything to make camping easier eh?
Thank you mate, I'm learning all the time, but your technique is brilliant, putting the 2 poles up with 1 in either hand is genius, I'll be using this, thanks again!
Cheers - I sort of figured it out by accident and it makes it really simple.
@@TimFromWales thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you, very useful! Going to bling m’tent setup up 😄
Have fun!
Thank you this worked for me I now have my awning up
Glad it helped
You made that twice as hard as it should have been!!!!
How/Why?
Done good man on that tarp setup
Cheers
Rain will pool in the middle
Perfect - I can then collect the water and boil it.
Thank you❤
Thanks - I enjoyed this video..
How is this tarp holding up 3 years later? Is it properly waterproof?
I don’t like the split screen is too confusing
Ok thanks. I only did this style once anyway.

I had to click off because of the music. Why did you add that?
Each to his own. Maybe you missed the best bit 😁
Music is annoying, detracts from video, and can't hear what the guy is saying. Head cam makes the video concave. Otherwise good info.
Ok - thanks for the feedback… 🙏🏼😝
Here's my recent tent/camp set up where I used this tarp/awning for the first time - th-cam.com/video/ToVxGAtOOLE/w-d-xo.html
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
So much for your clever camera work very annoying trying to watch 2 different things!!!👎
Only complaint I’ve had is from you mate..
I only got 1/3 of the way through your video and then had to stop - couldn't watch the rest. You would've been suffering with severe hypothermia in extreme weather conditions before you even got that tarp up off of the ground. Not just that, but you would have to be out in a huge open space to be able to stretch out all the ropes like that...definitely not a stealthy setup choice. It was just taking too long!
I didnt say it was quick and this is not the kind of tarp you are going to set up to keep you from the cold. This is just a porch idea.
If you’re looking for Extreme weather survival tips try searching for a different video. This is a camping tarp set up not a survival shelter.
You clearly wouldn’t put up this kind of tarp in extreme, freezing weather. He’s showing you how to put one up for regular camping alone
God are you for real or what. It's obvious you couldn't use this set up in severe weather conditions 🙈
