Love how you really show how everything needs to be thought out before building. Your attention to detail is wonderful and shows and inspires me to look at so many things about the total design needs of building a house.
What a amazing basement!

- how you transitioned from the traditional upper floors above to the contemporary basement below,
- the very slight curve of the railing on the stairway,
- in the bar area countertop, the paper towels in the silver coaster (from your own luxe kitchen video),
- “functional display” - my new mantra!
- wine cellar flooring: it’s OK to splurge even when you’re the only one who sees (or knows)
- how to disguise structural posts IF you plan during construction
- budgets! I appreciate that even though your budget is significantly more than mine, you acknowledge that you do not have unlimited budget. For example, no cabinets in that room-dividing wall by the pool table; the different countertops in the bar area, foregoing the linear fireplace, etc.
- barn doors do NOT have to be rustic! Love the look of those glass barn doors going to your gym
- an IKEA console in the same house as bespoke consoles
I could go on and on, but I just want to applaud your design style and thank you for sharing the “why” behind the “wow”.

I show the front cover to my 7 years old daughter and asked her opinion to compare the basement to our current design of the new extension for open kitchen and living. My daughter said” this is a lot lot better, this doesn’t even look like a basement! Mum, can we copy them to our house? Or can we ask her to design for our house? ”, I wish I could copy, but really don’t know how… 😂 her design is just too stunning!👍

Hi thanks for watching, the floor is a porcelain mixed with a marble mosaic that we cut into strips And the whole thing was laid out on a 33° angle
Did you install two dishwashers in your catering kitchen? Any dishwasher drawers for stemware? Is it easy to get the trays out of the wall oven with that wall opposite them (the nanny's closet)? Also, the warming units you mentioned caterers bringing in...are those propane because I did not see any outlets along that wall with the ikea console? Love how you wrapped the basement structural support into that creative wall.
Hi. There’s only one dishwasher as caterers usually supply plates amd the bar has its own dishwasher wall oven is between island and walkway but there is plenty of space as we have 42” allowances all around. Yes there r plugs for warming unit. All plugs are in baseboards so they are less intrusive

Do you mind sharing your paint color on your walls? I am planning on painting the inside of my house and this color I think would be perfect. On video, it doesn't look too beige/yellow or gray....thank you
hi thanks for watching, unfortunately this was a custom color I created starting with Benjamin Moore oc 10 as the base
When it comes to details: the quarts was so stark against the creamy marble, I didn’t like the exposed inlay strip lighting and the mirror was quite basic (all looking a little dated). Could have been more creative with the bar area.
The walnut cellar was beautiful, though.
