Your blush-colored blouse is gorgeous! So romantic! It looks beautiful with your complexion. Thank you for the tips. I have a newly remodeled 25’ x15’ kitchen and all my measurements line up with your suggestions. Many thanks to you~~✨💜✨
I soooooo agree on the tread of “ open shelving’. Most is done with the most clutter and feels crowded and intrusive. Lessons on the lighting are ingenious; and I thank you! You had mentioned coffee stations before and that was soooo welcome. Be Blessed as you Bless us👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌟
So helpful. I’m going to look into taking out the soffit and extend my cabinets all the way up. I have a bedroom closet filled with items that should be in my kitchen. I going to take things off my counter and put them …. Somewhere - and put art in their place. Your kitchen is so beautiful. Your style so elegant. Thank you for taking the time to teach us how to live a luxurious life.
I am in love with your gorgeous blouse!! :) Your videos, your personal style & presentation are an instant vibrational boost for me. If I'm having a down day, I put on your videos & feel so much better. Thank you for taking the time to expand your business like this & show us your tips & tricks. I may never even step into a home like yours but it makes me happy just the same that someone else gets to live in such beautiful & architectural vision!
I'm not a professional interior designer; however, I have been in the process of designing a home (and kitchen) I would eventually like to build and retire into, and I've painstakingly thought about how I'd like to use the space, the feeling/ambiance I'd like to create within it, and every little nuanced feature and detail that will go into it to achieve my vision. I was skeptical when first clicking on this video to see what she had to say (so many influencers produce a lot of garbage), but I was genuinely pleasantly drawn in by her recommendations. She really hit the nail on the head at every point, validating thoughts and concerns I've had as I put a lot of time and effort into my designs. I have the feeling I'll be watching more of her videos, and using her insight as an azimuth for my own designs. Very nicely done, thank you.
You videos are just so crucial to watch for someone trying do design a functional, comfortable, and beautiful home. Every time i watch I get answers to questions i have had for years. You really address all of the details and technicalities that make such a big difference. We are so thankful! Bravo 👏 👏 👏
Now that I’ve watched your video several times (first, for your visuals, then, for your details, then, on my iPad with a tape measure in my kitchen, etc.), I can say “thank you”. Your guidelines (not rules) are so helpful for inherited kitchens, regardless of budget. And your advice about neutral cabinets is greatly appreciated. Even if I were not concerned about resale, I could grow tired of green cabinets (or other color). So much easier and less expensive to update color with accessories and decor.
Really appreciate your professional tips. I love that you provide specific calculations. I also love the way you say “Now” at the start of some of your sentences ❤
We made a mistake putting our stove across from the refrigerator and when oven door is in use, one cannot open the refrigerator comfortably. I enjoyed the tips, thank you.
This is what I want for my small home, to feel joy, when walking into a room & just looking at a calm space of the simple things I love, TY for posting, you are so inspiring!
Yes I fully agree your kitchen is so very important a space to have it uncluttered lite with purposeful light for cooking and cleaning your space. Thanks
Great video! Although I have a more modestly sized home, I love taking ideas and concepts from estate sized homes. As one who is esthetically driven, and who entertains quite frequently, function and beauty must exist side by side. Your home and your wonderful tips on how to bring these elements into more budget friendly and smaller spaces are invaluable.
I thank you sou much, for this very wonderful inspiration ideas . I note everything you sad to bring into my kitchen , to organize declutter and have my counter space clutter free. Thank you again I love watching you God bless you and your family .🥰👍
Love your outfit, specifically your top. I love every video you make because it is so informative and your style is classic elegance. I have learned so much!
I close on a home tomorrow at 8 am, I do my final walk through today in a couple of hours from now, a home that I don't like the finishes and other things. I bought it for the beautiful land, and the location,it is difficult to buy in this area, people are in wow I was able to buy there, and get a secluded ackerage as well. On the most part I like the foot print of the home, I plan to make a couple of changes with that. The large kitchen is going to be amazing, the main bedroom and on suite is very large but dated just like the kitchen is. I am excited, yet it is a little scary moving from my beautiful home in a highly sought after location that I have spent 3 years updating into this new project. I know I will be happier in the new home once I complete the updates. This video is going to help me tremendusly in not making errors in the renovation process, along with some of your other videos I have watched. Thank you for all you do for us little people who want beautiful homes as well.
Hello, I just found you yesterday and I am thrilled with what you do and say. Since finding you, I have watched several of you podcasts. I have saved them all in a folder. I love interior design. I am all about making every room comfortable and calming. I want every room to bring a smile to my face and joy to my heart. Thank you so very much for making these vision/tutorials. I look forward to learning how to do the best job of achieving my design goals by watching and rewatching your videos. Sincerely, BettyGene
Hi Miriam, great content as usual and your kitchen is stunning! I really appreciated the technical information about lighting placement and dimensions, etc.. Some of us are probably more visual learners and so perhaps in the future you could insert a couple more photos with written dimensions added (in elevation perspective?) so we can really grasp it. But anyway this was so useful! I find it very helpful when designers give dimension/measurement guidelines for all sorts of things, it really helps us make better design and layout decisions at home. 👍🏼
Thank you for the info. I am getting ready to build and the kitchen is one area I will have alot of input. I do love a beautiful kitchen and lighting is very important to me. The measurements you gave for placing lights over the island and the distance between the island and stove and cabinets were something I had never considered. That was excellent information and I will definitely use. I have enjoyed your videos and look forward to more of them. Sylvia
Excellent advice! Practical, real world, common sense but really honest and will create beauty and function in our kitchens! Thank you so much for your time and generosity.
Thank you for your tips and ideas. I appreciate the respect you give to honor the budgets of others while adding perspective on what we can make do with to get long term gains. I agree about the open shelves and the trays to corral things on countertops.
Under cabinet lighting is the best! When I moved into my elderly father's home to be a full time care giver, I noticed that his macular degeneration left him unable to see most of the kitchen counters once the sun set. I put in under cabinet stick lighting for him and it helps a great deal. I like it because it's so great to prep food under. His kitchen also has a weird built in desk area with cabinets above. I lit the whole area and made him a coffee station in that space. His coffee, treats, sugar, and breakfast foods are in the cupboards and the desk is set up with his coffeemaker, mugs and breakfast dishes. He has things set up the way he likes and can navigate with little issue.
Great video on a topic that serves us all on some level. I totally agree with you about the open cabinets (isn't that popular among the Europeans?) especially if you have pets. Not only does it look chaotic, but it just seems unsanitary. My cabinets do not go to the ceiling and I certainly don't place anything atop them since that's probably doing nothing but to collect dust. Thank you for helping me to rethink that space to one day transform it into a more functional space. Thank you, Mariam, for another great video. 👍
I recently found your channel and I absolutely love it and your beautiful home. Thank you for sharing your expertises with us. Your blouse is exquisite!!
Thank you so much for the tips given… I have learned so much watching your videos. I can’t wait to purge my kitchen and counter space… I love your pink blouse;so pretty on you!❤
The work triangle is important. Your measurements help immensely. Good bones can always be dressed later, right? We owned a cabinet shop, on the side, for 30 years, panel ready appliances weren't as popular when we started. Now they are the norm and do make a huge upgrade in appearance. Your videos are now my faves, thank you!
Thank you Miriam. Such great information. I love how you have elevated the kitchen. Yours is so beautiful. I heard that 30% of the resale value for a home is found in the kitchen. So important to beautify our kitchens. Thank you again. Laura from Oregon
This is really good video. I am saving ot on my forever list ❤❤ I have a kitchen reno on my to do list so it will really help me out since i am a DIYer 💪💪 also this kitchen is gorgeus 🤩 i agree with your principals, colors, focal point, hardware etc.
Miriam, appreciate the timely topic. We are currently in the process of renovating our kitchen. We have a 12 feet high ceiling in the kitchen and decided to install 54 and 12 inch upper cabinets (total 66 inches tall) which we felt was tall enough to be useful. Not sure that in my case going to 12 feet with uppers would have been too much. Taking your spacing suggestion on the three pendants we are placing over the 8 feet island. Thanks and keep up the great content coming.
Hi! I'm a new subscriber, and I love your work. You touched on the idea that sinks should face a window whenever possible. What are your thoughts on sinks in a center island? The trend seems impractical to me, but it's everywhere!
I have one, my sister has one, we don’t like them…everything in front of the sink on the island gets wet. Don’t place your important mail there!! 🙂 I do like having the bar seating across from the sink though, because I have young kids who can hang out there and I can face them while I work at the sink.
Hi Miriam, I feel so inspired by your vision and attention to detail. I'd like to incorporate some of your molding and mirrors into my retirement home and do the work where I am able. Can you share the type of antiquing on your mirrors ~ it's so pleasing to look at because of its gentle, cloud-like appearance without the dark spots seen on many antiqued mirrors. If there is a vendor name you could share or even an antiquing method...that would be fantastic! Thanks for considering.
What a professional beautiful lady you are and such good taste and the wisdom you bring to your interior design career. A very modern kitchen as well as the rest of your manor all in good taste, clean, stylish. Happy Autumn/Fall of 2024.
Thank you for going into detail with your r ommendations. More images as examples would be helpful. Please tell us from where you purchased your blouse. Stunning
Wonderful information, thanks for sharing. I'm new to your channel and have been watching your videos. Such a beautiful blouse. Do you mind sharing where to purchase?
Hello, I would like to know if you can tell me the color of you cabinets in your kitchen, and your glaze. thank you so much for all your excellent idea.
Red flags? Really? Why should I forego what I truly want and design my kitchen for the sake of future owners? Unless I'm flipping houses, I'll do what I love, even if the pros look down their noses at it.
Not everybody thinks of their home as an investment. If the next generation inherits the place the kitchen is usually gutted and redone anyway. So do what you like in this case and enjoy!
Hi would looove some advice as its incredibly hard to find an answer for sloped ceilings in the kitchen. We've already decided to put uppers with glass doors on our cabinets but even with that added height we still have such high ceilings that there's going to be a large empty space above. Any ideas of what to do with it? Putting plants n decor is not an idea i love as I've seen homes with that and it often looks cluttered. But maybe you know of a better way to decorate that kind of space?
You notice an important thing with the wine bottle: I've seen this in a tv show when a couple put themself in a renovation show saying "oh, we dont have the money to finnish the renovation" while also talking about trips to USA, Japan, Europe. The audacity. Normal people limit their entertainment budget to invest in the house. I didn't like that one bit.
You will be told not to plan. Not to get a designer…since the contractor is a designer (total dangerous lie), then you will find yourself in crisis with remodel indecision. Your place will look like hell, and you will be robbed. So, the first thing is to work on a layout, but don’t let a salesperson push you into it. Think about it, and price everything out so you know what you can afford, and then decide. People will try and get you to do it backwards because it’s easiest for them, then blame YOU for the chaos.
Hi :) I noticed that your sink cabinet jets out a few inches from the rest of your cabinets. Was that for any particular reason? Or just design? I love your videos! They are so helpful.

You said to hang them 36 inches apart, , my island is 5 feet long , the ceiling is 10 feet high! Please I need help! Maybe on your next video about kitchen you can address that subject! You look absolutely divine! That blush colored blouse is so gorgeous on you. Your kitchen is a dream- so elegant and so my style.

Thank you for the tips from someone who would not be able to afford an interior designer but want a well put home.
I really like that color on the cabinets. What color is that?
After staring at the kitchen in this video for 20-odd minutes I am feeling relaxed already. 🙂

Excellent présentation and counsel. You really are the best!
Love your valuable insights.
Agree with everything. We have tiny seventies kitchen and now in a process of remodelling. Panel ready fridge and dishwasher were the first on a list.
You will love them once finished. Enjoy!
Your kitchen is beautiful, as is everything else. Thanks for the helpful tips. I'm also loving the blouse!
Brilliant in-depth lighting and island review. Thank you for sharing 😎

It’s just a design choice

I love my home all 32 hundred feet of it ! I love French country, and love glamorous items !

You are outstanding!

Miriam....
Do you foresee IVORY kitchen cabinets (as opposed to WHITE kitchen cabinets) becoming a trend again anytime soon?

Is this a functional kitchen or do you have a "messy kitchen" adjacent to your show kitchen?
It looks very dated. The pretty show kitchen is a thing of the past. Not a big deal if it's functional. It looks like a happy space to congregate in.
????? Everyone I have known with a beautiful kitchen like this uses them!
