Finally an LG G8 battery test... took a while but I appreciate your work. The G8 did really well I was surprised it seems their making better software optimizations. Anyways, great video.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 has a 3300 mAh battery which is smaller than the G8 and a bigger 6.39 inches display than the LG G8 and it still lasted pretty long IMO.

People have been sleeping on LG's optimization for years. They look at the battery size and deem it as bad without actually seeing it in use unfortunately.

The V50 with his 4000mah battery size is potentially going to be 2019 battery king. Biggest rival for now should be P30 Pro, until we know about Note 10 specs. LG underrated as usual. These phones already had major discount over the few months since they were released, and Xperia 1 will sadly feel too overpriced for costing $1000. 4K HDR 21:9 OLED alone doesn't cut it, and hardware wise, the camera system on it will be on par with phones that are similar to it, namely the Galaxy S10/S10+, while the P30 Pro with its massive 1/1.7" RYYB sensor would continue to reign supreme in low light (even without night mode, which the Xperia 1 will lack). It's pointless for them to announce a phone and only get it ready for release 2 months later, when even 1 month already feels too long. They're taking way too long to release the phone, as if the phone itself is actually going to sell well and going to be available worldwide. I'm a Sony Xperia fan, but until they change this horrible strategy, I'm not expecting them to be successful soon, regardless of how good the products are.
a 4k display is actually a horrible idea, it will drain the battery stupidly fast without even noticing a big difference in sharpness, especially since 98% of movies are still 1080p lmao.

Sense Mi 9's update its battery optimization has been changed drastically. It burns everything there. It runs with the S10+ beating it by a few minutes and the 5g loses by 30 almost.
The S10+ and the 5G have the same resolution screen, so just because the screen is bigger doesn't mean it uses more battery. The amount of pixels is the same just spread out over more area
Its a fact that exynos battery life sucks thats why in india samsung is trash.. I mean g8 gives you more sot then the s10+... The s10+ exynos gives sot like iphonexsmax... Which is unacceptable..

Subjective! 5g has a larger screen more battery will be used. Depends on usage I guess. Bigger battery more battery life. 5g last all day with normal use while the plus does not.
How do u get the S10 5G to last like that. I have had my 5G off the the charger for 4 hours with 10 minutes of videos and occasional looking stuff up online and its already at 47% battery.

With 3300mAh battery and 4k display the battery life is going to be the worst of all current flagship devices. Thats why I switched to p30 pro after 11 years with different xperias - I had E, SP, Z, Z3, XZ2. I just dont understand how can Sony relase such a piece of crap in middle of 2019. Even no wireless charging, no indisplay fingerprint, smallest battery, i dont believe in the camera again (Just look how XZ3 failed in dxomark) and price highest of them all (beside an iPhone).

unrealistic test, you need to have a sim card in each device to simulate realistic conditions (since maintaining a connection to a cellular network does use power (even when connected to wifi) since the amount of power needed to maintain a connection varies with the device used and the carrier used and the S10 5G absolutely destroys your battery life when connected to a 5G network (420ma on 4G with hotspot enabled vs 1270ma with 5G connected and hotspot enabled, both with full bars of signal mind you)

In the UK with Exynos S10 and using the QHD resolution I wonder what the s10+ battery will be? Certainly it will be less compelling than this result and more inline with the simple battery capacities. I do not think with most flagships being OLED there is any magic going on, just bigger battery longer life. Of course the Exynos Europe gets us a significant downgrade and why I do not even think about buying a Samsung phone. Prices are in free fall because of the poor SOC but no one is buying as it sucks to be treated second class. The Snapdragon looks really good though.

Subjective! 5g has a larger screen more battery will be used. Depends on usage I guess. Bigger battery more battery life. 5g last all day with normal use while the plus does not.

How do u get the S10 5G to last like that. I have had my 5G off the the charger for 4 hours with 10 minutes of videos and occasional looking stuff up online and its already at 47% battery.

With 3300mAh battery and 4k display the battery life is going to be the worst of all current flagship devices. Thats why I switched to p30 pro after 11 years with different xperias - I had E, SP, Z, Z3, XZ2. I just dont understand how can Sony relase such a piece of crap in middle of 2019. Even no wireless charging, no indisplay fingerprint, smallest battery, i dont believe in the camera again (Just look how XZ3 failed in dxomark) and price highest of them all (beside an iPhone).

unrealistic test, you need to have a sim card in each device to simulate realistic conditions (since maintaining a connection to a cellular network does use power (even when connected to wifi) since the amount of power needed to maintain a connection varies with the device used and the carrier used
and the S10 5G absolutely destroys your battery life when connected to a 5G network (420ma on 4G with hotspot enabled vs 1270ma with 5G connected and hotspot enabled, both with full bars of signal mind you)

Note8 had small battery so I swapped with Pixel 2 XL which I'm typing with. Soon getting Note10. I have iphonr7 as secondary phone. Samsung is best for me. People have opinions but the truth is truth my friend, watch MKBHD or Unbox Therapy they'll tell you the best display if you don't believe me. Have a good day.

@@LastStopGaming Uhhhh what? I own the LG G8 and S10+ (SD 855 variant), and I must say that the battery life is fairly similar. The LG has a pretty good size smaller battery (I know the screen sizes differ), but the LG does have the better optimization IMO. Both phones do have QHD displays btw.

In the UK with Exynos S10 and using the QHD resolution I wonder what the s10+ battery will be? Certainly it will be less compelling than this result and more inline with the simple battery capacities. I do not think with most flagships being OLED there is any magic going on, just bigger battery longer life. Of course the Exynos Europe gets us a significant downgrade and why I do not even think about buying a Samsung phone. Prices are in free fall because of the poor SOC but no one is buying as it sucks to be treated second class.
The Snapdragon looks really good though.
The average consumer would have no idea of the processor in a Samsung phone!
