He saved my life. I owe him it. I weighed 286 and growing bigger daily. He reached out on tv on his show and talked to me from his heart. I lost 176 lbs. in 8 months. He was my rock.

Khey Wood very true, and I don’t feel like any of us are butting in his life by worrying for him. Somebody being so loving and open r the easiest to be hurt. . If he would post to everyone a word that he’s happy so we all don’t worry. Sometimes we look at public people as a friend even though they don’t know us 😊 going underground is just one of those traits that mini do before committing suicide😞 praying for his happiness

I went on a cruise with Richard Simmons and he is as nice, and kind in person as he was on television! He stayed late at our functions to make sure he talked to everyone! I was so impressed with him! I truly hope he is okay, because he deserves the best! Loved seeing the cute dog!
Richard gave me my life back too because he cared! I have heard he is doing okay but keeping low.On the cruise he was a bit depressed because of his mom’s death. He would cry...I think that put him down and caused him to really miss her. Just a thought! He told me he had spent time at his childhood home missing his mom!
I took classes with Richard at Slimmons for several years. He even wrote a story about me in his book "Never Give Up". I can GUESS one of the reasons for his "disappearance." He is over 70 now and, like all of us, has experienced normal aging. I believe he wants people to remember him as he was throughout his career...eternally young, funny and athletic. Richard is a kind, compassionate soul and has helped millions of people. I hope the remainder of his life will be filled with peace and happiness.
My mom had his energy tablets and they woke me up good there was a few of them in the original little cardboard thing with his picture even there neat richard.
What is wrong with you. Aging is not an illness nor an embarrassment. It does not mean that the only purpose is death…in fact 70 isn’t so old.

I have been to his studio and his house as I have a friend who used to be one of his assistance. He is a really nice guy and just probably had enough. He actually did all the things that you have talked about. He probably just wants to have his privacy back.
To me Richard Simmons always looked lonely. No matter how much he joked, sang and entertained there was always something in his eyes that showed his sadness. He lived his life for other people and now he wants to live the remainder for himself. I just wish if that was his plan that he said a goodbye to his fans instead of having them so worried they sent the police to check on him. I know he owes us nothing but he touched a lot of lives and those people will naturally worry about him.
Ana Nimity I totally agree with you. Richard deserves to retire in peace, just like anyone else. You're right again, he owes us nothing. Folks owe him, if anything. I wonder if he even realizes how much his fans do care & love him? I wish he would have made a statement about his "retirement", ppl wouldn't be worrying about him so much. My family owes him a BIG thank you... about 200lbs of thanks😎

A persons behavior isnt always what they are feeling inside. Look at how many stand up comics suffer from major depression. Facial expressions, body language and the look in someones eyes are the only ways to see whats really going on inside. I think Richard was supposed to behave a certain way and he just became tired of it all. The eyes are truly the windows into the soul, and if you all saw lonely, he was most likely lonely. He may not even realize it himself. Great post btw.
@Robert Gardea : Goodness me, you made me laugh at your words. Anyway, I definitely do not sit by and watch people in the malls; but I make a pretty good assessment of people I deal with at my Job, in the hospital, not saying I am 100% perfect.
I also thought that he was lonely. One can be lonely in a crowd.
Richard should have just made a statement that he was retiring. He wouldn't have had all the negative press.

Easy for us to say what we would do in his situation, but we are not there, so why judge him?
Richard saved the lives of so many people. I hope he has always felt appreciated. I use to watch him and think to myself what a wonderful human being to have cared so much for those people like that. I always took my hat off to him. I hope you are enjoying life.
Your vlog is your vlog and your style is your style and that's why we love it and watch every day. The Hollywood history is the best and of course our daily dose of JAH is a must! keep up the great work!

Went to his studio Slimmons back in around 1996. He showed up and directed the workout. He was very nice.
Its just really difficult to age. Its hard to see your face and body change or not move the way it used to. I believe he just got older and wanted a break.
I remember meeting R S at the SF airport a very long while ago , He was asking what city he was in ,,, The answer was SFIA.. Very gracious person I must say.. More people need his manners...
I was walking all over Hollywood when out there few years ago Richard simmons was a passenger in Mercedes convert rode by and waved said hello to and was nice , that was my brief encounter

I also remember his "Sweatin' to the Oldies" that was a pretty big work out show. Thanks for posting Jacob, your vlogs are among the best, if not SIMPLY THE BEST!

Richard was actually at our mall in Ohio. We watched him doing his thing and went and ate a Cinnabon. He was fantastic. I been binge watching your adventures. Been great seeing the nostalgia. Love Jah!!

I liked Richard Simmons so much back in the day (early 80s) I dressed up like him for Halloween when our fraternity little sisters were going door to door collecting money for charity. I had on a red wig, multi-colored suspenders, track pants, sneakers, and carrying a boom box playing "Sweatin to the Oldies." I wish the best for Mr. Simmons. Jordan I like the way you do your videos and think you are a nice person. Thanks for all the research you do and all the interesting info you give us. Dont change anything with your videos! Well, for some reason I had no idea that he kinda disappeared. I'm happy to know that the police did verify that he was ok. I have always sensed a lonely man when I would see him on tv from way back when I was a kid. He seemed like such a kind and caring man. I can understand why he's wanting privacy now.

On Mr. Simmons It just sounds like he's done! I don't think he made it public of his intentions but that would be his prerogative. I think if he would of went public of his intentions people would definitely leave him alone. Maybe that's what he should of done. But once again that's his business.
