We were huddled in a closet in O’Hare during this time last night. We felt the walls shaking in there but didn’t seem like much more than the wind. Thankfully!!
I was staying in prayer that this would pass us, and we felt our house shake for a moment, and passed right by our house 🥹 we live In Dupage thank God it wasn’t that bad ❤
This is a right rotation storm, almost all tornadoes have a counter rotation. And I don't think you would see any debris next to a runway unless it a part or a plane or equipment. Rain rapped, possible.
I’ve been to Chicago many times before and I feel terrible given this happening on Monday night and the fact that 2024 has been a very rough year for severe weather there if I’m not mistaken.
As of July 21st, no tornado was confirmed by damage surveys at or near O'hare - although there was certainly rotation on radar and visible here within the advancing shelf cloud. Seems as though they jumped the gun by using the word "confirmed" on air and in the headline.
Not even close. EF-0, at best. Tornadoes are not rated on size or strength, they are rated on how much damage they cause. Wind speed may be a factor but winds were only peaking 100mph tops last night. EF-5 tornadoes will see wind speeds of 250-300+mph. There was minor damage last night caused around O’Hare, thankfully. If O’Hare were to see an EF-5, there would be little to nothing left of it.
EF-5 is like a Cat 6 hurricane, I remember when weather actors laughed about people saying Supercells Tornado would become norm. To bad they still get paid to report weather when they don't care about the regular foil.
I just landed in O'Hare right before the tornado warning was issued. It was windy on final approach, but we landed very smoothly.
I was viewing this live.
My family & I sheltered immediately.
Yeah same, we were watching the TV, but as soon as they showed that massive tornado, we just said, everyone in the basement now.
@@TheZombaslaya I saw a green sky outside my home & I heard that there was a potential tornado at O'hare on the news... I was like: "BASEMENT!"...
@@Nonyobiz we practically teleported to the basement. Even worse, my dad was out with his friends 30 minutes away from our house.
Good lord, I was watching this stream while trying to keep myself calm. I live wayyyy too close to O’Hare.
Same. I heard this thing was moving along 90 and I live 5 min from O’Hare. I lived through a tornado strike 2008 and it scarred me for life 😭
Definitely brought on some anxiousness... I'm right by Grand and York (Bensenville) and the winds were crazy!
@@MaurickSh I was so scared I had a whole dream about two tornadoes about to hit my house😭
@@630Bizlived out that way in the 70s..right by O'Hare, so I know the area.
I worked at this time there😂
The marketing for Twisters is unmatched
My thoughts exactly! 😂
This news is better to watch than twisters.
Lmao i was just saying this at work😂

Damn, my mom was stuck in O’Hare Sunday.
Back to back days of Tornado Warnings in O’Hare?
There had to be multiple tornadoes in the south suburbs as well, shorewood here and my neighborhood is wrecked

10 tornadoes 😮 absolutely insane
Rain wrapped!

man, I lived close and I told my parents it's in o'hare. we went to the basement really quick. luckily our house wasn't damaged :)
My house shook in DeKalb county IL. Those winds were awful and nonstop lightning. I was in my safe place for over an hour.
I see it. Yall please be careful and be safe.

I was watching this live last night while I was watching the severe weather event unfold. What a wild night!
I was stuck on a plane on the runway the plane was shaking

The NWS of Chicago said they’re almost done with their investigation of it.
Looks like a muti vortex tornado thats rain wrapped maybe a Ef 0 or a very weak EF 1
More wind means easier takeoff
Childish humor 😒. Probably cops. 😆
Same with cars.
I heard the sirens last Monday night
Fun fact: Skip ahead and the sky will get darker
If i was on the plane and Saw that I wouldn't need a toilet anymore
Unprecedented in Chicago Metro. As our climate continues to change, this may be the norm.
You're absolutely right. Illinois never had a tornado before trump was elected and caused all this climate change.
What type of tornado is it
I don’t want to misinform you, but I think this was a EF4 (or possibly EF5) tornado.
@@CShannon1991The wind speeds were maxing out at 95mph, which means it was only an EF 1.
@@CShannon1991 No.
Look at it and lmk if you see orbs
...That was rain. Happens nearly everywhere very often.
Its Downburst
I saw rotation
No debris

😮😮
A ‘possible’ tornado isn’t a tornado. Go to Nebraska or Kansas and you’ll know what a tornado is.
