Ramon C Cortines School of Visual and Performing Arts presents; Their FIRST PLACE Fullerton Theatre Festival Musical Scene: The Book of Mormon! Like us on Facebook! / 416698598356199
@@marieagnethepihl8971 And their trajectory just continues as they played Desire in The Sandman on Netflix and Dr. Ian Wright on Quantum Leap. But you can see here they were already a star!
Because of this performance "the Book of Mormon" is now my favorite musical ever! :) btw I was in the audience during this performance /.^ I really want to hug the tall dude though .-.
Oh my gosh this was amazing. You guys did so good. The singing was superb! There were some many different choices that differed from the original, but I thought they were very interesting and only added to your performance. The spoken lines could be louder, but other than that, this was a really great performance! Elder Cunningham was brilliant!! Obviously being overweight in theatre will draw more attention to you (speaking from experience), but you turned that cartwheel and stole the show. I hope you guys get a big break some day and please keep doing what you're doing. This was fabulous!
I freaking love the guy who plays Elder Cunningham he is just so talented, funny and cool 👍🏼 very good job guys, one of the best covers I've seen so far 👏🏼
This was amazing and the fact that there is controversy over this performance should remind us all how powerful the theater can be as a sounding board for social views. We live in a country were we still have the freedom of speech and this is a good example of it. Theater is a reflection of differing points of view. And whither one likes what they see or not, it does speak certain truths when it holds a mirror up to society as a whole and reflects back what it sees.
I was there and saw this is person, and I was so impressed - and thoroughly entertained! My son's school took second place in the competition with "Fiddler on the Roof," and I was so happy to see kids from both Book of Mormon and Fiddler telling each other how much they liked the others' scene. It was a great competition and I was proud of the kids from both schools. Congrats to these six talented kids on a great win! And congrats to Mira Costa for taking second with Fiddler! Both are awesome.
Hey, if anyone has a problem with "The Book of Mormon," take it up with the writers, Trey Parker and Matt Stone (aka the creators of South Park. Not exactly "PC" guys), not these cool kids. They're just talented high schoolers performing a tiny cutting of a great show. I was lucky enough to see them here and in a parking garage (where, might I add, they were just as fabulous). Thanks for making Fullerton 20% cooler! And if any of you want to transfer to my school, we'd all be thrilled. ;)
You guys beat out of my school for first, but you earned it. i watched out school compete then you guys back to back and decided you guys earned this spot, even tho i will also rep for my skwl(:
This is my favorite "Book of Mormon" on TH-cam. I really like the guy in back in "Turn it Off" sort of dancing any which way and also Elder Cunningham's cartwheel.
omfg! i was at this festival! i was a finalist for monolouge but unfortunately we didnt get to see the winners.....im so sad i missed this! you guys were amazing!
This is incredible! I particularly love how Elder Cunningham was played more aggressively. Awesome choice! Elder McKinley is hilarious and has a fantastic voice!
This year you could do any new published musical as long as the libretto or book were avaliable for purchase (either in book stores or online) so basically we could do any show or published piece of music that is available in stores :)
I have been looking for this since the Festival. Thank god someone recorded it :DDDD I walked up to them Saturday (before the finals) and said I would pay to watch them on Broadway :) probably dont remember me but i sure as hell remember them. Good job guys!
This is, by far, one of the better reproductions/covers I've seen around the Internet. I can see how, in the context of this specific performance, why Mr. Alexander was given a lot of small roles (McKinley, etc.) instead of that of Elder Price, because Mr. Alexander stood out immediately. The boy playing Elder Price seems to have a sweet enough voice, but the whole Orlando sequence is nearly ruined because he practically turns his already quiet voice away from he audience! Great overall though!
I love this scene!!!! I saw this in person and i was dying in my seat, especially when they referenced lion king. My school brought lion king and we didnt make it to finals but there is no way we could compete with this!!! I am proud to say im attending this school next year. Cant wait!
We were going to go there this last year, but ended up going to Long Beach instead. I would have loved to see this! You guys are awesome! We're doing The Book of Mormon for Long Beach this year! Watching you guys do this made me that much more excited for it! Awesome job!
i saw that on broadway the other day, and though i kinda looked forward to the part in turn it off where they clap and the light goes off and they reappear wearing pink sparkley vests... BUT YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING TOO.
Wow, this was actually kind of perfect. Great job. I've watched the original show a million times and love its choreography, but I was definitely impressed with this interpretation. Completely different and so right for this kind of small performance. Well played, sirs.
Congrats guys on your win. This is amazing. I used to do Forensic's in High School and i so wish i could have been in a school like yours. Simply amazing. ^^
Wow! Nicely done! I love the musical The Book of Mormon and you really brought the fun energetic feel into every song and the lines between each number! Congrats on the Nationals bro!
@BornAgainstMormons Im very sorry if you were offended by this performance, we actually arranged a meeting with Mormon Missionaries before the show and talked to them about Mormonism, the Book Of Mormon, and what we were doing. They absolutely loved it, and so did about 40 other mormons that actually saw us perform at the festival. It isn't meant to mock, it is meant to satire and celebrate religion and our differences, plus, homosexuals have more of a reason to be offended by this than mormons.
you guys are incredible! Very VERY well done. I've seen this song done so many times and you made me laugh like I was watching it for the first time again! XD
You guys were amazing! Great job on this! The only thing I would've said is you need to wait for the laugh line; like give a little time for the audience to laugh before you start talking again. It'll allow the audience to fully understand what's going on so they can hear EVERYTHING that's said. Plus, if you wait for the laugh, then they'll want to laugh more (don't ask me why) because they'll feel open to laughing without missing stuff. But other than that, everything was hysterical!
I don't know why I find it hilarious that that boy in the back right in the start who is clearly the best singer with the strongest voice is also the only one not doing the choreography correctly during the 'this book will change your life' bit. XD
ambitious high note there kid! at 1:52. That wasn't in the musical when I saw it in Feb. :) the choreography is pretty impressive for high school@ sheesh! and you guys did a good number of songs. I hope if there's ever a travelling Book of Mormon some of you guys get hired! and I totally encourage you all to see it at the Eugene O'Neill Theare in NY. :) so cute. great job!
the boy playing elder mckinley was hilarious, all through hello and two by two i was hoping he was singing turn it off or got a big solo. he's so good
The boy who starts in the back on the right side is SO good
His name is Mason Alexander Park. He's having huge success in musical theater now.
@@marieagnethepihl8971 And their trajectory just continues as they played Desire in The Sandman on Netflix and Dr. Ian Wright on Quantum Leap. But you can see here they were already a star!
something...incredible ! you've done something incredible !
WE ARE IN HIGH SCHOOL! :D It was for a high school theatre festival in California
Absolutely marvelous performance. High energy and a ton of soul.
Because of this performance "the Book of Mormon" is now my favorite musical ever! :) btw I was in the audience during this performance /.^ I really want to hug the tall dude though .-.

I got to see this live.... COOOOOL.
I love how Elder Cunnigham was played. Less of a nerd, but more ignorant to the outside world. Brilliant performance guys.
This was amazing and the fact that there is controversy over this performance should remind us all how powerful the theater can be as a sounding board for social views. We live in a country were we still have the freedom of speech and this is a good example of it. Theater is a reflection of differing points of view. This was the most perfect rendition of Book of Mormon I've ever seen
I love love love the audience appreciation at the end.
This has to be my favorite non Broadway/National Tour performance of these songs.
I stood and applauded at my computer.
I was there and saw this is person, and I was so impressed - and thoroughly entertained! I seriously come back and watch this all of the time because of how funny it really is. You guys did a great job.
This is easily one of the best performances I've ever seen of the play and an amazing take on the script. The entire team is extremely talented.
This is my favorite "Book of Mormon" on TH-cam. I really like the guy in back in "Turn it Off" sort of dancing any which way and also Elder Cunningham's cartwheel.
You guys were GREAT! i hope some of you have gone pro by now!!!
I cannot stop watching this. It's too amazing.
i can not wrap my head around the amazingness of this

This video never gets old, I enjoy watching it EVERY time. You are all amazing
Loved every moment. Classic. I can't get enough of this show.
Good jobs guys, it's like the 30th time I'm watching this. It took balls to do it, it took talent to do it well.
Mason Alexander Park, good job. Together we are strong :) :)
omfg! i was at this festival! i was a finalist for monolouge but unfortunately we didnt get to see the winners.....im so sad i missed this! you guys were amazing!
This is incredible! I particularly love how Elder Cunningham was played more aggressively. Awesome choice! Elder McKinley is hilarious and has a fantastic voice!
That was literally the best thing I've ever seen. The Elder McKinley guy was incredible!
coming here from Neil Gaiman mentioning Mason's TH-cam page helping him decide to cast him as Desire, this video is surely a surprise. lol

Whenever I need my Book of Mormon fix and can't find any bootleg recordings of the real thing on TH-cam I watch this :)
I was feeling down before I watched this. Now I feel so happy. Thank you. One of the most funny and uplifting things I've seen in ages.
