Great list, I don’t know if I would have included the Venom movies on this list. I know Venom is a Spider-Man character but those films are so far removed from Spider-Man I consider them their own series.

Dude, it's so refreshing to see Spider-Man 3 higher on a list than usual. Even though it's incredibly flawed, I still love Raimi's style so much more than the other movies. Although I did see No Way Home two nights ago, and I agree with you. It's by far my favorite non Raimi movie.

Its a weird one. NWH couldn't exist without all the previous Spider-Man movies. Like those are needed as the build up and makes the experience of watching NWH much better. If u didn't watch the previous ones beforehand the movie won't be as good.

I think anyone who is old enough to experience the Raimi movies when they came out hold them in such high regard, I know I do too. That being said my top 3 would be the same but I would at least have NO WAY HOME at number 2, maybe 1. Its because I never thought I would see Tobey back as Spiderman but more than that couldn't ever imagine how Dafoe could return as green goblin. William Dafoe was so incredible in NWH, the new look everything was so far above expectations for me. Because of how great Dafoe was its better that the original Spiderman but I just don't think I can put it ahead of Spiderman 2
He’s the only one who gets constantly shit on, he has the most reason to quit being spider-man but he still keeps going, they tried it with Andrew but it just didn’t feel like he actually intended on staying away from spider-man no matter how sad they told him to look😂 he is the only one who has every aspect of spider-man not only told but shown over and over again.you see toby being broke as fuck the whole series, andrew and tom kind of just mention that they are broke but especially tom just lives like a middle class kid anyways going on field trips and hanging with a billionaire with a gifted suit, basically had everything handed to him, even his defeat of vulture was due to a malfunction in vultures suit which he just saved him from.
Awesome list Cody. Like you, the Raimi movies were incredibly important for me growing up, especially the first two. I saw them in high school, and I honestly think they helped form my ideals for what it means to be a good person.
agree with you. I think Raimi keeps this message in all his movies that no matter what you should be a good person. And frankly Spider Man for me is only Raimi. Even 3. Though I wish they had not turn Tobey into a jerk in the middle. For me that was the most negative thing about that movie. Other than that I am pretty fine with that movie. Though I must say 1 is still better than 2 for me. The first is still the best. The Amazing Spider Man series was really sketchy. And I completely agree with Cody that Amazing Spider Man was more of money grab attempt without really having a definitive idea. So they kept the concept same as Raimi's movies but just changed some the characters and settings. So new villains, new love interest but no new idea. Tom Holland's movies were not really Spider Man but I think 2, Far From Home. had an idea. They just could not execute it properly. In trying to balance Peter Parker's adventures or experiences with Spider Man's challenge they ended up making a movie with loose ends. And probably underplaying the main idea. If you wanted to make a Mysterio versus SpiderMan clash then they should have made it one. Why put this whole travel movie concept in the middle and end up weakening the main theme. 11. TASM2 4/10 - Too many plot points. Still some fun parts. I like electro even tho he looks stupid. Peter and Gwen are fun together. Just too much tho setting up the non existent future. Still enjoy it tho. I enjoy all these movies some more than others and I don't really have one series that I grew up with for bias towards. 10. Spiderman 3 4.5/10- I don't have the nostalgia of the old films being 16. The weird thing is, this is the only spiderman film I watched as a kid. Yet I still see a ton of problems and again, I enjoy it, but a lot of issues. 9. Venom 5.5/10 - Its a solid fun movie. I like a lot about it but I think it takes a little too long for the setup plus Riot is boring as hell. 8. Far From Home 6/10 - I think this is less of Spiderman's movie than Homecoming was. I've never been as big a fan of Mysterio. Still fun and enjoyable but not amazing. 7. Spiderman 6.5/10 - Again I don't have that nostalgia. It's a great origin film. I love Green Goblin. Good film. Just not as good as the rest above. 6. TASM 7/10 - Underated. Lizard really isn't that bad of a villain. And unpopular opinion incoming: Andrew Garfield is the best spiderman. I thought this before NWH. The parents stuff isn't over thought about yet. I prefer Gwen to MJ from the Raimi films. Just great. 5. Let There Be Carnage 7.5/10 - So much more fun than the original because it gets right too it. I prefer Eddie and Venoms relationship here. I loved Woody as Carnage who was a pretty damn good carnage for PG-13. I liked the plot and it was just so much fun for me. 4. Homecoming 8/10 - I've never minded the direction they went here. You can't do the exact same story again after doing it twice. Peter still gets his time to shine but he's a 16 year old or whatever he can't be entirely on his own. Vulture is a great villain and this is the best version of MJ and I like her introduction here as the non love interest. It's different in a good way with a lot of great fun stuff about it. 3. Spiderman 2 9/10 - Fantastic. I enjoy this one so much more than the other 2. Doc Ock is the best spiderman villain imo. I love seeing this version of Peter where he's into his spiderman days struggling still but not this cocky spiderman. The train sequence is amazing in so many ways. Great ending. All around easily the best of Raimi movies and just fantastic. 2. No Way Home 9.5/10 - Oh my god. Dude what an incredible movie. Without spoilers the way that there are actual consequences is great. The villains and uses just right except Doc Ock who needed more screentime. Making green goblin the main villain was awesome and I enjoyed him here more than in spiderman. Same thing with electro. The ending is unsatisfying but it makes sense. I could go on but a fantastic movie. 1. Into the Spiderverse 10/10 - The best of any spiderman movie. Where do I start. The music? The animation style? The twists? The development of the characters? I mean jeez it just all comes together for this amazing movie. I love the villains, Myles, peter B, noir, Gwen, and it's funny while still having some huge emotional moments. I mean everything about this movie is awesome making it the best spiderman film.
I agree with your list for the most part. But one thing I’ve noticed re watching the Tom Holland movies regarding people’s criticism of him being “iron man jr.” is that yes in homecoming he gets an AI suit from tony stark, but he defeats vulture in his homemade suit. In far from home yes he gets AI glasses from Tony but then defeats mysterio by using his spider sense. Just my thoughts haha

Nostalgia can be a tricky thing. When I went back and watched the Raimi trilogy, I found a lot of it very cringey. I also enjoyed the first Amazing Spider-Man a lot more this time around. That being said, Spider-Man 2 is still hands down the best out of all these films.

Love your ranking. Watched no way home, and it was really quite unfortunate the problems I saw in the movie. It was if they wrote it just for nostalgic purposes and spectacular scenes in hopes it would pull people away from the problems. Regardless it was a solid 7/10, really enjoyed it ! My top 3 are the Raimi spider man 2, No Way home, Raimi’s spider man 1. The Green Goblin in No Way home was biggest reason between choosing between the two movies. Green goblin in No Way home was more Scarier. Awesome can’t wait to see it again

My Ranking would be: 1) Spider-man = It was the first time I got blown away with seeing such an iconic hero on the big screen, great origin story, with Spidey and GG. I remember seeing this with my mom and little sister and us just loving this movie so much 2) Spider-Man 2 (2004) = probably the greatest sequel next to T2. Did everything right! Did what a sequel should do, did what a Spider-Man movie should do. Love Doc Ock, definitely my favorite movie villain, next to Defoe’s Green Goblin. 3) Spider-Man: no way home. = haven’t felt an incredible theater experience like this since End Game. It was fan fiction come to life. Incredible! 4) Spider-Man: into the spiderverse. = thought It was an awesome Spider-Man movie! Was able to do great things you can only do in animation. It was wonderful! 5) Spider-Man: Homecoming = made me have faith in MCU that Spidey was in good hands. They did something different but it works for the MCU. I feel like Spider-Man is in everyone’s shadow and some of the source material changes are questionable but I still loved this movie and it’s 80s coming of age vibe. 6) Spider-Man: Far from home. = loved this movie! I enjoyed the growth of Peter and MJ’s relationship. I loved mysterio. I don’t get why stark left a death device in the hands of a teenager, but it further justified why Spider-Man has to be watched over by The Avengers, it was irritating, but I still enjoyed this movie. Opened the door for no way home. 7) Venom = very fun and enjoyable movie. Felt like it should have came out around the Raimi trilogy, but I loved it. Popcorn fun. 8) Venom 2 aka Carnage = fun ride, kinda messy. But I had a blast. Wish they would have made Carnage more dangerous and scary. But I had a great time. 9) Spider-Man 3 = a jumbled mess but I still had a great time. Was depressed the trilogy had to end like it did 😞
I personally can't stand the Amazing Spider Man movies. I don't think Tom Holland's version is perfect but dude I hated Andrew Garfields version of spider man. Only superhero who I've ever wanted to reach through the screen and just punch🤣🤣

Fantastic list. Totally agree about spider-verse points. Yea its good and has a good story but its still a cartoon and for some reason that makes me not want to revisit it much. I just cant see how a grown ass man can put this at the top of their lists
I have only seen The Raimi movies. So I can't give a fair ranking. As for the Raimi movies #3 Spiderman 3 #2 Spiderman #1 Spiderman 2 Michael Keaton as Vulture looks very interesting for sure. I like Peter as the douchbag also. It had good comedy moments for sure!

Dude, it's so refreshing to see Spider-Man 3 higher on a list than usual. Even though it's incredibly flawed, I still love Raimi's style so much more than the other movies.

I think anyone who is old enough to experience the Raimi movies when they came out hold them in such high regard, I know I do too. That being said my top 3 would be the same but I would at least have NO WAY HOME at number 2, maybe 1. Its because I never thought I would see Tobey back as Spiderman but more than that couldn't ever imagine how Dafoe could return as green goblin. William Dafoe was so incredible in NWH, the new look everything was so far above expectations for me. Because of how great Dafoe was its better that the original Spiderman but I just don't think I can put it ahead of Spiderman 2
He’s the only one who gets constantly shit on, he has the most reason to quit being spider-man but he still keeps going, they tried it with Andrew but it just didn’t feel like he actually intended on staying away from spider-man no matter how sad they told him to look😂 he is the only one who has every aspect of spider-man not only told but shown over and over again.you see toby being broke as fuck the whole series, andrew and tom kind of just mention that they are broke but especially tom just lives like a middle class kid anyways going on field trips and hanging with a billionaire with a gifted suit, basically had everything handed to him, even his defeat of vulture was due to a malfunction in vultures suit which he just saved him from.
Awesome list Cody. Like you, the Raimi movies were incredibly important for me growing up, especially the first two. I saw them in high school, and I honestly think they helped form my ideals for what it means to be a good person.

agree with you. I think Raimi keeps this message in all his movies that no matter what you should be a good person. And frankly Spider Man for me is only Raimi. Even 3. Though I wish they had not turn Tobey into a jerk in the middle. For me that was the most negative thing about that movie. Other than that I am pretty fine with that movie. Though I must say 1 is still better than 2 for me. The first is still the best.
The Amazing Spider Man series was really sketchy. And I completely agree with Cody that Amazing Spider Man was more of money grab attempt without really having a definitive idea. So they kept the concept same as Raimi's movies but just changed some the characters and settings. So new villains, new love interest but no new idea.
Tom Holland's movies were not really Spider Man but I think 2, Far From Home. had an idea. They just could not execute it properly. In trying to balance Peter Parker's adventures or experiences with Spider Man's challenge they ended up making a movie with loose ends. And probably underplaying the main idea. If you wanted to make a Mysterio versus SpiderMan clash then they should have made it one. Why put this whole travel movie concept in the middle and end up weakening the main theme.

11. TASM2 4/10 - Too many plot points. Still some fun parts. I like electro even tho he looks stupid. Peter and Gwen are fun together. Just too much tho setting up the non existent future. Still enjoy it tho. I enjoy all these movies some more than others and I don't really have one series that I grew up with for bias towards.
10. Spiderman 3 4.5/10- I don't have the nostalgia of the old films being 16. The weird thing is, this is the only spiderman film I watched as a kid. Yet I still see a ton of problems and again, I enjoy it, but a lot of issues.
9. Venom 5.5/10 - Its a solid fun movie. I like a lot about it but I think it takes a little too long for the setup plus Riot is boring as hell.
8. Far From Home 6/10 - I think this is less of Spiderman's movie than Homecoming was. I've never been as big a fan of Mysterio. Still fun and enjoyable but not amazing.
7. Spiderman 6.5/10 - Again I don't have that nostalgia. It's a great origin film. I love Green Goblin. Good film. Just not as good as the rest above.
6. TASM 7/10 - Underated. Lizard really isn't that bad of a villain. And unpopular opinion incoming: Andrew Garfield is the best spiderman. I thought this before NWH. The parents stuff isn't over thought about yet. I prefer Gwen to MJ from the Raimi films. Just great.
5. Let There Be Carnage 7.5/10 - So much more fun than the original because it gets right too it. I prefer Eddie and Venoms relationship here. I loved Woody as Carnage who was a pretty damn good carnage for PG-13. I liked the plot and it was just so much fun for me.
4. Homecoming 8/10 - I've never minded the direction they went here. You can't do the exact same story again after doing it twice. Peter still gets his time to shine but he's a 16 year old or whatever he can't be entirely on his own. Vulture is a great villain and this is the best version of MJ and I like her introduction here as the non love interest. It's different in a good way with a lot of great fun stuff about it.
3. Spiderman 2 9/10 - Fantastic. I enjoy this one so much more than the other 2. Doc Ock is the best spiderman villain imo. I love seeing this version of Peter where he's into his spiderman days struggling still but not this cocky spiderman. The train sequence is amazing in so many ways. Great ending. All around easily the best of Raimi movies and just fantastic.
2. No Way Home 9.5/10 - Oh my god. Dude what an incredible movie. Without spoilers the way that there are actual consequences is great. The villains and uses just right except Doc Ock who needed more screentime. Making green goblin the main villain was awesome and I enjoyed him here more than in spiderman. Same thing with electro. The ending is unsatisfying but it makes sense. I could go on but a fantastic movie.
1. Into the Spiderverse 10/10 - The best of any spiderman movie. Where do I start. The music? The animation style? The twists? The development of the characters? I mean jeez it just all comes together for this amazing movie. I love the villains, Myles, peter B, noir, Gwen, and it's funny while still having some huge emotional moments. I mean everything about this movie is awesome making it the best spiderman film.
I agree with your list for the most part. But one thing I’ve noticed re watching the Tom Holland movies regarding people’s criticism of him being “iron man jr.” is that yes in homecoming he gets an AI suit from tony stark, but he defeats vulture in his homemade suit. In far from home yes he gets AI glasses from Tony but then defeats mysterio by using his spider sense. Just my thoughts haha

Nostalgia can be a tricky thing. When I went back and watched the Raimi trilogy, I found a lot of it very cringey. I also enjoyed the first Amazing Spider-Man a lot more this time around. That being said, Spider-Man 2 is still hands down the best out of all these films.

It was if they wrote it just for nostalgic purposes and spectacular scenes in hopes it would pull people away from the problems. Regardless it was a solid 7/10, really enjoyed it ! Id put spiderman 3 below the Tom Holland movies probably around 6 or 7 and I grew up with the original 3 idk I love the originals but I loved the Holland movies as well. Great content as always Cody!

Absolutely hated Venom 2. The movie needed to be Rated R. Imagine if Deapool was Pg13 and that’s what we got with Venom 2.

My top 3 are the Raimi spider man 2, No Way home, Raimi’s spider man 1. The Green Goblin in No Way home was biggest reason between choosing between the two movies. Green goblin in No Way home was more Scarier. Awesome can’t wait to see it again
Solid list. I rewatched these prior to No Way Home coming out and I will say Spider-man is one of those franchises that it rarely misses. Like I've warmed up to Spider-man 3 and to an extent Amazing Spider-Man 2

My Ranking would be:
1) Spider-man = It was the first time I got blown away with seeing such an iconic hero on the big screen, great origin story, with Spidey and GG. I remember seeing this with my mom and little sister and us just loving this movie so much
2) Spider-Man 2 (2004) = probably the greatest sequel next to T2. Did everything right! Did what a sequel should do, did what a Spider-Man movie should do. Love Doc Ock, definitely my favorite movie villain, next to Defoe’s Green Goblin.
3) Spider-Man: no way home. = haven’t felt an incredible theater experience like this since End Game. It was fan fiction come to life. Incredible!
4) Spider-Man: into the spiderverse. = thought It was an awesome Spider-Man movie! Was able to do great things you can only do in animation. It was wonderful!
5) Spider-Man: Homecoming = made me have faith in MCU that Spidey was in good hands. They did something different but it works for the MCU. I feel like Spider-Man is in everyone’s shadow and some of the source material changes are questionable but I still loved this movie and it’s 80s coming of age vibe.
6) Spider-Man: Far from home. = loved this movie! I enjoyed the growth of Peter and MJ’s relationship. I loved mysterio. I don’t get why stark left a death device in the hands of a teenager, but it further justified why Spider-Man has to be watched over by The Avengers, it was irritating, but I still enjoyed this movie. Opened the door for no way home.
7) Venom = very fun and enjoyable movie. Felt like it should have came out around the Raimi trilogy, but I loved it. Popcorn fun.
8) Venom 2 aka Carnage = fun ride, kinda messy. But I had a blast. Wish they would have made Carnage more dangerous and scary. But I had a great time.
9) Spider-Man 3 = a jumbled mess but I still had a great time. Was depressed the trilogy had to end like it did 😞

I personally can't stand the Amazing Spider Man movies. I don't think Tom Holland's version is perfect but dude I hated Andrew Garfields version of spider man. Only superhero who I've ever wanted to reach through the screen and just punch🤣🤣
