Love these new AIOs! I don’t understand why some people like hating on betafpv. I have 7 of their aios in drones right now and they all run great. I have had more issues with happymodel aios. Either pads lifting escs frying or or random stuff. Oh well 🤷🏻♂️
I believed the hate and avoided them like the plague. Then had a horrible experience with happymodel. Now I'm on the air 75 and I love it! Been crashing it for weeks now. My mobula 6 was blind after 2 hours out of the mailbox.
Don't 'like' hating betafpv, but my experience with their aois is a bit harsh… I have 4 fried FC from them laying on my desk rn, and only 1 death FC from happymodel 🤷♂
buzzer has saved me an entire quad more times than I can say. When its smaller than your had and ends up in grass or even just laying on the grass, its damn hard to spot!
I have this issue often. I will tend to put it in turtle mode, and bump the sticks to create some noise helping me locate. Alternatively we can activate and use the motor beeper, not as loud as a normal beeper but its something.
Got my 5in1 ordered a 2 days ago,i killed a esc on my original spi version 65pro after 2 years, i had already upgraded my stock motors i bent, so this should be easier to install then the other style. I hate soldering all the vtx pads on those old ones with my shakey crippled hands.... I got an upgraded camera and lite canopy to add too
As someone whos new to Analog and Tiny Whoops, I am not a particular fan of AIO boards after nuking the VTX on my Happymodel x12 when upgrading Betaflight. Now I have the weight of the AIO and an external VTX on it.
I don't usually buy v1 of anything but couldn't help myself with this one, popped too many HM 5in1 diamond boards and these allow a really clean build. See how they go, if its anything like the 4-1 it looks promising
Did you notice any difference in ELRS signal between the 2 setups? The separate RX on the 4in1 has a flat antenna & the 5in1 has a wire. So would expect the wire to be better? I guess you could replace flat with wire on separate RX on 4in1 to get same effect, but adding a tiny bit of weight.
FYI I got my 5in1 yesterday and it ships without the rx antennae attached. Supposedly you need to solder the TINY rx ant yourself as it comes in the bag. ALL the reviewers boards showed it already attached but that not the case.
@@NickBurnsFPV FYI Their website shows it detached sitting next to the other parts. I emailed them and got this response, "The red copper wire in the accessory kit is the antenna for the receiver, and it hasn't been pre-soldered." What really sucks is that you can't plug it in to the usb to test the board prior to soldering on it.
I've had two of the 4IO and both are dead. The first lost a fet on the 5th flight (just dropped out of the air) and the second damaged the IMU in a minor crash. I've has zero luck with BetaFPV boards of the years.
Good summation of the 5 in 1 board that's currently all the hype. Does it live up to the expectations and what does that new processor really help with? Are we bamboozled with 'new', 'shiny', or does this advancement(5in1) make a better difference?
The additional processing power is mostly about future proofing. As BetaFlight continues to move forward we will likely need the additional processing of the code
between air75 fc 4 in one and meteor 75 pro fc 4 in one, which are the differences? could they both be used in same builds? or the air fc support only lighter components? i ask this because i wanna know what changes when they release a new fc
The lower price is likely from the reduced cost of the processor chip they are using compared to what we normally get. I've got several ordered to try out.
The 4-in-1 is lighter but my Diamond board always pops out in hard crashes and a board with all 4 mounting points like the 5-in-1 won’t and that’s worth 0.25g to me.
Awesome! cool stuff! can't get enough of it! thanks Nick👻 Can you and are you willing to show your collection of quads one time expecily what you build your self? that would be cool🔥🔥🔥🔥
I potentially could. I think the only one I have built over the last few years for the purposing of finding something I couldn't get from the BNF market was the Rocket Race I did a few years ago. Most of my other builds have been purely for testing individual components.
@@NickBurnsFPV Just watched the video with the Rocket Race, those kinds of builds are interesting! That’s exactly what I want to do for my next project 🤗But all the test quads are fun to see too, especially what parts you used and how you put them together to make a test quad. For example, the black 75mm with the Beta 5in1 AIO in the video - those are the quads I think are really cool. Hello again... alwase love the show/channel. As a newbie question... can. You hook up an HDz VTX if it already has A vtx on the board? The 5ive in one boards ...i'm talking about..
The short answer is yes. I prefer for the AIO to have two side by side solder pads known as a jumper to disable the onboard video. But it isn't 100% required when using an external vtx such as hdzero.
@NickBurnsFPV thank you for the reply 😊 I m asking cuz I want to put hd zero. On the air 65. I really love the way that thing Flys. I was wondering if you could put the eco hdzero on it.. and use.. like the nano v3 as the cam. that a nice combo but get used with a simulator before so you don't break your kwad in the early flight, also stay away from water, those small bastards like to go dive in it
Yes, that setup will serve you well at that price point. I, like others, suggest after you have your radio to spend time using a simulator for a number of hours before the first real flight.
It's worth nothing that the 4-in-1 FC, when purchased alone, doesn't include the receiver. So, once you buy the RX, price is on-par with the 5-in-1. BUT, I'll take the 4-in1- + external RX any day if it's the same weight. Now if they can just resolve the VTX output issues and make this thing race-worthy.
@@Bilbo_Wigglesworth Most of the external RX are right around half a grame +/- 0.1g. I've heard that the Beta RX with the flat antenna (the one they include on the Air65 BNF) isn't as good as other external RX's. I'd probably put a Happymodel EP2 on it.
@@KidCe. Genernally an external RX is gonna have better range, yes. Also, the 4-in-1 is going to be easier to solder to if needed. And the "diamond" shape of the the 4-in-1 board gives you some additional options for camera mounting over the 5-in-1.
I think so as the corners are pretty narrow like the original 75 pro board. But to be certain we either have to dry fit one or lay one board directly over the other.
I've been going through a heck of a time with BetaFPV. Am I just having a bad string of luck? I've had two C04/VTX modules take a dump within a 4 month period. Yes, I didn't expect that either. Its not much but in micros it does matter when trying to keep the weight down for performance, flight time or durability.
@@NickBurnsFPV do you think that heat dissippation as a factor for the 4in1? The RX is attached to the board via sticky tape - so whatever is below might have a harder time to get cooled.

the diamonds are highly unreliable. At one point I bought 8 and 4 failed either on the bench or after the first flight
Those aren’t 2017 prices (I’ve still got invoices for Happymodel diamond 4in1 for less than £25) but it’s still a welcome reduction.
Does it fit into the Metero65 Pro frame, which I believe has less clearance from the edge of the FC to the ducts?

why would you choose external rx any day? just because its a little lighter? does external rx always equal better range?

4 in 1 seems more appealing, free choice of receiver and lighter.
I'm surprised it weighs more, aren't you? Course 0.2 of a gram isn't much! Maybe one bowl! Lol
My receiver broke off after a few crashes. 4-in-1 is def a more fragile design. 5-in-1 takes care of that issue.
I’d rather have the 5/1. The 4/1 weighs more after adding a receiver and the build is more complex.
The 5/1 sure makes a cleaner build though 😊

Yes, it is from betafpv.

At this point the only difference is the possible additional .2 grams. Depending on what rx we are comparing to on the 4in1
How to disable the onboard vtx? I'd like to use my HD zero since the vtx sucks so bad
when I ask betafpv they said the vtx chip had to be removed. I am not sure if there was a communication failure but that is their response.
could this 5 in 1 fc be mounted replacing a 4 in 1 fc in a drone like meteor 75pro?
