- Documentary following the work of repossession agents in the UK as they execute High Court Writs on behalf of people desperate to recover money they are owed.
When defendants are finally tracked down, the enforcement officers working for this collection agency face tense confrontations, difficult dilemmas, and civil litigation as they try to settle debts no one else can.
Through the agents and staff this mini bureau of investigation we follow the stories behind the defendants and claimants as we get to the bottom of each case and portfolio recovery.
In this episode:
KC and Alex pay their fourth and final visit to a hostile mother and daughter that owe money for rent arrears.
Chris and Gavyn visit the offices of an international airline in Hounslow that have ripped off two customers.
Agents, KC and Alex, we pay a visit to a man who owes a large debt to a solicitor. And Agents Mark and Virgil have a High Court Writ to enforce a Pizzeria to pay an outstanding Mozzerella bill....

I sold a house in FL, USA, with a second mortgage. After the first payment, the second check bounced, and all payments stopped. I was in WY, USA, and they thought I was too far to collect, but a friend in FL called a solicitor and he sued the buyer on our behalf. Debt collected.
Way to go for the pizza debt collectors!!! Great job. They handled themselves with professionalism, experience and grace. Time to pay the dough you owe!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

They used to do this type of thing in the U.S. Too many debt collectors got hurt/died trying to confiscate peoples stuff, especially in rural U.S 😅

Here in the States, apparently squatters are the big problem. Put your house on the market or go on vacation and you're liable to find a whole family living there now. Our goofy government gives the squatters more rights than the homeowner. Some states have started removing squatters and charging them with trespassing. How about getting serious and charge them with breaking & entering, burglary?

@@shreeshabhat9281 More states are beginning to follow Florida's lead on squatters. I think most states were just scared of the leftists raising hell. But once DeSantis signed the new squatters bill, other governors seemed to say "let's do that too!". The rides are turning!

Also, pineapple ABSOLUTELY goes great on pizza. I find it strange so many people are against it. It gives the pizza sweet and tart notes to the already salty and savory flavor.
Never forget that people who live by deception do not care who gets hurt by their behaviour. You can't feel sorry for them. Their aim is to get away with whatever they can. They're generally without any moral code or sense of common decency....
so not tue im 20.000 eurs in debt because my source of income stopped im willing to pay a small amount and its been denied...this is spain.
It's interesting to note that the debt holder has to go through numerous court appearances (and pay for each step including hiring the bailiffs) to come to this point. If you owe, make payment arrangements in writing and then make the payments.

At some point in every episode, the agents are "pushed to their limits".
All reality shows are about drama and conflict because it gets more "eyes on" and maximizes advertising revenue. You will never see a reality show without loads of drama.
They will need to use all their STRENGTH and TENACITY to resolve the situation 🤣
The agents have been pushed to their limits. If the debt is not paid in full, they may have to seize assets. But the debtor is trying to say the company was sold and he's a lookalike of the man they're looking for.
I love this program......not for the cases....but the way it is made.
"Can't Pay, take it away" and Paul Bohills team, is the best type of these programs. This one not quite as good

So often I see people behind in their bills, but they have big screen tellies, video games and order food deliveries several times a week. It is all about priorities, right? What else do you need at home than a bed, a table and a chair? Go barebones, pay off your debts and start over!

Yea wouldn’t work here that’s why they use Sheriffs for this type of stuff and even then they can’t come into your home and just take what they want to in 99% of cases.

The enforcement agents have a lot power due to their position with the court.

What is truly amazing about the "High Court" and the officers is. The process of seizing assets on the spot is not
done anywhere else in the world. If it was done elsewhere, the process and the outcomes would result in very different
scenarios. The High Officers are well trained in NOT Escalating the situation, resulting in peaceful endings.
It is practiced elsewhere, the US for instance has a similar process, it can be local or federal court, and most commonly involves sheriff's deputies, but going in with armed law enforcement personnel and seizing items for auction to pay an outstanding judgment does happen here in the US, it's not a separate department but it is roughly similar, and the on site aspects can be similar.

Well a lot of people have never been taught about finances. Basically once people find themselves in this shape it should be required to take some classes. For example the women who owes a 100 pounds a week. Well she cannot even afford to change the bald tires on her car and taking the car means she cannot get to work to earn money, just being worse off. However getting 2 weeks of food each month from a food bank would save her the money so she could pay that debit off. But for some people they see it wrong to get free food that way due to there pride and yet they are still cheating someone else. It does not make sense yet a lot of people think this way. They do not want to ask for help and yet expect people who do not have the means or ability to help and basically dump on them because they think the person is so much better off when they are just getting by also.
The mom and daughter that owe 5000 and have 100 dollar payments have a 80 dollar Gucci tee shirt wow

Yea did you see the tires on the car. That could have been a gift or bought when time were better. But what these people really need is some education and having some classes on how to budget. For example in the USA she could get that $100.00 a month buy using a food banks for some of her food instead of buying all her food. Thinks like bottle water and eating out is a huge waist of money. Teaching people the importance of saving and how to invest is also needs to be taught. What these people need is to sit down with someome and have a budget set up for them.

They refused to sign the consent form after, which most won't because it also contains a waver of not suing the collectors for illegal shit they do to make the show more dramatic.

You would run out of customers pretty quickly. Sometimes people need a bit or a phone call to let them know they missed a payment.

The girl and guy team is how you do it! You deal with people with compassion and respectfully. This absolutely happens in the US. It's called a Writ of Execution.
If you sue and win a judgment, you can go back to the court for the writ, then the Sheriff's office goes out and seizes property to satisfy the judgment.

US absolutely has this. You can go to court & get a judgment against a debtor, then you get a writ to allow sheriffs to seize goods to cover the debt. It is expensive

I managed a debt collection agency for 20 years, and the absolute worst thing a person can do is ignore a past-due bill. The debt is going nowhere, and you lose credibility.
If you take out debt, it’s on you to pay it back. If you don’t then you should lose whatever it is you got with a loan. You’re an adult. Act like it

Unless it's repossession of a car you aren't paying on or eviction for property you're not paying for rarely will you hear of property seized except in criminal cases in United States. Then sheriff's in United States are law enforcement unlike in the UK.
That's because it's very expensive to have someone's property seized for debt in most States. Cheaper just to walk away.

Because they collect funds from cheats who defraud honest, hardworking individuals and small businesses. Imagine if you were a supplier or homeowner who was cheated out of your hard earned money. Hope it never happens to you. Be careful who you deal with.

Some people get into terrible debt because of uncontrollable reasons, most people get into debt because they are too stubborn or dumb to be financially responsible.
These people are simply the part of society that punishes negligence for the most part. There can’t be loans without debt collectors otherwise nobody would pay them.
Seems like in England the debt collectors don't play around and will take stuff to settle it. Now if only the states would do the same thing instead of the collection agent's just calling about your debts.
Note that they never go to large businesses that owe money to employees or small suppliers. They only harass and intimidate people who are already backed into a corner. The bigger you are, the more immune you are against law enforcement of any kind.

I saw on an episode yesterday they went to the Delta Airlines check in counter and shut it down until they got payment.

I don't think this is new. I think it is an archived show. The original providers have not responded to inquires as to the show or the other High Court collectors will be reserrected.
