- Spaghetti-Western, meet the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso. Lovely V-12, beautiful deer in the woods, and an idiot at 8000 rpm on a gorgeous back road.
Full review of the GTC4 Lusso including tech explanation of the 4RM awd system.

This video was uploaded as part of Jason Cammisa's professional showreel and portfolio as a writer, on-screen talent, and precision driver.
If anyone is curious, he mocked the GTC4 for having massively uncomfortable seats, stating that the seats in the colosseum are more comfortable. That's the rough translation of the Italian bit in the beginning.
Their not uncomfortable at all...
@@joeteasley155 Just telling you what he said.
@@thegirthquake8574 Thx. I speak very basic Portuguese and my first impression was something to do with a turtle as in as comfortable as the back of one. Well, at the dealership showroom the Lusso seats did not seem bad….
@@computerhelpcc the base, latin, is the same but portuguese and italian are very diferent.
Perfect translation or "traduzione perfetta!"
“Ferrari didn’t sell out and make an suv like everyone else “……… ya about that
Didn’t age well
@@SandroBarbakadze the video is a few days old tho, or is it an old episode?
@@gitanodel69 heeeeeeeeella old. This is back when Jason was working for motor trend with Jonny. Hella old.
@@gitanodel69 this is back from 2017 iirc
They only call them SUVs. They are all in fact Station Wagons if they are Rear-Wheel-Drive, and Minivans with Front-Wheel-Drive.
Keep uploading Jason. Reminds me of ignoring school work to obsess over ignition and head2head
unironicall me and my a levels

I FOOKIN MISSED THIS. thanks jason for the reupload (we love you )
Watch his new show on Hagerty (TH-cam) if you haven’t already
@@Perfection645 his new shoes Hagerty have such high production quality!
A naturally aspirated V12 with almost 700 HP, a top speed of over 200 mph, 4 seats, decent luggage space. There is no other car like this and there will never be another car like this.
i get what your saying but what about the aston martin vanquish zagato shooting brake
@@Broncos14 Less than 600 HP and highly limited production.
The rich man’s perfect daily. Just getting to hear the V12 every day would be so good.
@@Atombender true, also forgot about the back seats.
And that’s why i WANT ONE
The feels are hitting today, you’re bringing me back to a better time Jason lol
@1:35 Ferrari didn't sell out, yet. Until today! Thank you for uploading this, Jason. Thank you also to Motor trend for allowing Jason to do so.
There is nothing wrong with a Station Wagon. A Shooting Brake for this. It is the cross between a Musclecar, (Sportscar in this case) and an Utility vehicle. The only thing better is a truck.
@@beauxr.benoit1374 nobody said anything wrong about wagons. I was referring to the leaked Ferrari SUV photo recetly, which Jason pointed out that Ferrari has not done yet at the time of filming.
@@keith6360 Sorry, I guess I over reacted.
Ferrari SUV, it's very wrong
@@jools182 it is a Station Wagon, not a SUV. It is on a car platform.
I love how the opening sequence is just further solidifying the fact that Ferrari V12s are in fact musical instruments.
Ferrari… you’re buying an engine with a car attached to it
So are some Ferrari V8s like the 458 Italia.
Absolutely THE BEST 60-second intro to any video clip EVER! HELL YEAH!
Damn. How does TH-cam know that I'll instantly click on anything with Cammisa? That's a crazy good algorithm right there.
Get a gf/wife that you care about to avoid thinking of him
the design was ahead of its time you could tell me it was released today and I would believe you
2016 is barely "another time".
No it's timeless as in if you realized it in any era of design it would be pretty
This car is ahead of its time. This term is a curse to a car, and Companies do not use it. If it is used to describe a car in ads, no one usually buys it.
@@LOLHICRONO it still is though. Tastes changed, and shooting break/wagon/hatchback looks are in. Just look at the love for the rs6 now. So I really think if ferrari released this design again today, they would finally get sales enough to justify it. I understand why they felt they should move to an suv like design, but I don't think they should have killed off this. I know it's one extra model, and ferrari is small, but the suv is 4 doors. It's different than this. 2 doors on this really changes it.
I seriously wish I could pay Jason for 1 hour of his time, sit down and discuss "what should I buy" because he find so many golden nuggets of info/character of a car that just isn't available during a 30 minute test drive
Mate why don’t you have more views? I’ve watched 20 reviews on the Lusso from some very famous TH-camrs and this was by far the best. Great mix of tech and driving. Keep it up man, this channel has a future.
Thank you! These are reposts of old videos I made for Motor Trend back in the day... they did an average of 1.5m or so before MT lost the plot and deleted them off TH-cam... removing a total of 300 million or so views of my work. I put select views here on my personal channel as a resume.
@@JasonCammisa keep it up. Great work
Can we please have the gt350 vid with the drummer explaining the cross plane vs flat plane ? I miss this vid so much
That video is one of the best ever made on a car
Thank you Jason for your distillation. From many concepts you narrow down to the seemingly important ones. You are much appreciated !
My favorite Ferrari, in theory, to be made in a long long time
one of my favorite episodes. I was sad to see it taken down
Jason is an amazing actor/car journalist. He's like May and Hammond both combined. Love it
This was the first video I ever watched with Jason. For the longest time I thought it was gone with the wind. Happy to see it back.
Definitely one of the best presenters out there.Subscribed.
You are the new Original Top Gear and Grand Tour! Please make more new reviews! The yearns for this kind of content!
We giving out academy awards for best car video of the year? Because this wins.
[Closed course. Professional idiot] has been a running gag for a long time lol
Never seen this, excited
It all started with the Range Rover Sport SVR episode. :P
I once heard the GTC4 startup at a gas station, I thought i died and i was in heaven.
They always nail the look of an interior as well as exterior :)
THANK YOU FOR THIS REUPLOAD!!!! The video which sparked my still unending unconditional love for the GTC4 Lusso and created a future life goal for me. I very much missed being able to just watch it whenever I want on TH-cam. Thank you Jason, thank you thank you thank you!!!
Watching this feels like watching Old Top Gear.
Cammisa just has it, dude is the goat.
Love the opening sequence!
...gloriously balanced engine, gentle gear shifts, sound proofing, awesome shocks, space grade steering and sound proofing. All that tech just to focus the driver on one important thing...
...those uncomfortable seats that obey any ergonomy that GT cruiser should stand for...:P
The seats are fine, maybe feel hard when you first get in, but really comfortable over long distances. Firm, but supportive, and more give than you’d think.
Ive sat in an Lamborghini Aventador with comfort seats and I wouldn’t call the seats hard but, I call them firm and they are actually very comfortable. A hard seat would be a 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo but even those are comfortable.
love the opening line " “Ferrari didn’t sell out and make an suv like everyone else “ ., two years later, "yea right"
“Ferrari didn’t sell out & make an SUV like everyone else has.”
Jason, I wish it were still true.
Beautiful intro, btw.
Damn, you guys treated this car review like it's part of some epic, complete with original score!
Was a pleasure to watch and hear thank you!
Classiest video ever....classy, ultra professional......Jason is AWESOME !!!!!
"Ma perché, Ferrari, i sedili del collosio erano più confotevole" is the best line ever!
Can’t wait to see you upload the M4 GTS video.
I love watching videos like this after they were made private or deleted.
i love it when you post videos of when motortrend was good.
Jason.... I really LOVE your videos. I feel super excited when I see a new vid from you here or on Hagerty! Thank you thank you thank you!
My favourite Ferrari still. shooting brakes are the best designs!! Only thing it's lacking, a rear wiper ;)
you could order that ... but the GTC4Lusso is no longer made, sadly...
Thank you master for this re-upload
Man I wish this video was higher resolution
I like car reviews. This is one of the best I have ever seen. Very good. Compliments. Also I saw a lot of gtc4lusso reviews, never did they mention the hard seats though.
I remember watching this on motor trend, oh this was a good episode
Jason one of the all time greats!
Quality content! Thank you Jason
this will always be my favorite episode of ignition, when this guy left basically stooped watching it :D
Keep these coming, loving every bit of it.
I own a Lusso, and the seats are fine, really comfortable on long journeys. No pain at all, and I suffer historically from a bad back.
Mine have alcantara centres and leather sides, which may be more comfortable than all leather?
First time I watch ur video and liked your reviee style, great show man 👏
Thank you so much!!!! I LOVE THE IDLE!!!! GREAT VIDEO & EDUCATION. THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
This car will continue to age extremely well
Very professional and entertaining video. And a cool car of course.
I grew up on these ignition episodes damn. Miss these videos, MotorTrend used to be so hype. Funny that these are now “vintage” lol
That bit about Ferrari not selling out and making an SUV like everyone else, oh how times have changed.
Purosangue would like a word.
1:31 oh how did it age bad, can't wait to see Jason review of the purosangue
Good ol pine creek road (and maybe some others)! I’m lucky to get to cruise these eastern sierra roads any day 🙌
The Italians must love you Jason! Gving you soooooooo many of their cars in Automatic version :)
Never truly appreciated the FF until I saw one a dealership. They are quite nice.
This is like the beginning of some 90s Christmas movie with happy family and a dad is CEO of some refrigerator company.
Ive missed this......specially the intro music..❤ Jason
What a high quality car review vid. Just why does the channel stop updating?
Jason always kills it...
The BEST car videos in allll the woooorld. Thank you JC ( Jesus Christ? ) for your unendingly entertaining car content!
This is an video is excellent in every aspect
I love this stuff, thanks for sharing this mate.
Adam really knows about cars .
It’s ironic that, without their technical prowess in racing, Ferrari could not have built this GT car. Getting all this mind-bogglingly complicated tech absolutely perfect in a very limited run is antithetical to engineering in general and nearly impossible in practice. Phenomenal work.
Thanks for jinking the SUV thing
Every Ferrari is a sports car. That's in the Ferrari DNA
i like your style man! thank you for the content
Amazing scenery. Personally I like the looks of the GTC4 (especially as it not in Ferari red) but the looks are probably challenging to most. I would cut this car from my wish list only on the grounds that the 'unique' four wheel drive system will probably break at some point and be crippling expensive to return to working order.
Not a fan of exotic cars...... but the FF and GTC4Lusso are AWESOME
Good to see you Mann !
Love your review style. 👍
So good seeing these gems from the "archive" - Tasering Germans please!
You are our hero! (and you haven’t even put up the M2 and Cayman GT4 reviews…)🤤
too short. i wish it was longer. great review.
I want. That sound is a V12 masterpiece. Like 1970’s Niki Lauda F1 shifting.
This is one of those cars I'm sad not to have succeeded. 😭
Imagine having an Enzo engine in your daily driver. Definitely my next car.
There is no way there is a gas station close enough to drive that car like that !! 😅
More old motor trend pls.
Back when M.T. was excellent and amusing. Jason was the Deadpool of M.T.
That's a piece of art!
Wait ive seen this,
Oh its from motor trend
Eh i dont mind watching it again, Jason is awesome
I miss these old videos. Alot of em seem to have been removed from TH-cam or probably is hidden behind a paywall. I was lookin for the video of the Bentley GT3R that you did while clownin around.
Also, anyone know what the background soundtrack is?
@ 2:50 Luis is saying that the seats are 'de madre' which is Cuban slang for difficult or hard.
Rougly he is saying:
"Brother these seats are incredibly hard, its like a torture chamber."
I own one of these (and I’m not 95 - not even close). You are completely unfair saying there are bugs/glitches in the infotainment software. The only thing I have encountered is that there is occasionally an odd way of dismissing the seat heater overlay. Everything else has been 100% fine and working. And I’ve just brought it home from a 5 day tarmac rally… the seats felt great for the trip, but honestly, you don’t spend much time thinking about seats in an event like that!
You're my hero in general but specifically today for uploading that which was stolen by the evil of motortrend
Finally got his episodes back from disgraced MT
Normal fine print disclaimers: these acts were performed on a closed road course by professionals. Please do not attempt to recreate.
Motor Trend @4:12 :
I want a 612 and hopefully an ff or lusso one day. 612 feels attainable for now.
This is the only Ferrari I ever would buy... Too bad that Ferrari discontinued making the GTC4Lusso a year ago...
Thanks Jason
Thank you so much
Cammisa is the man.
:42 brakes made me chuckle.
Why on earth did Ferrari mess up the seats on a grand touring luxury vehicle? I have a 2007 599 with the Daytona carbon buckets and they are incredibly comfortable.
They didn’t mess up the seats. I’ve got one. The seats are perfectly fine
@@UOTDF Yeah, me too. My Lusso seats are really comfortable. Now the Roma seats…… that’s a different story.
Lamborghini Gallardos have extremely firm seats but they are actually comfortable. The Lamborghini Aventador comfort seats on the other hand are less firm and it is very comfortable and possibly the comfiest seat I’ve ever sat on. Never sat in a Ferrari though.
Loved it!
