It is a sweet looking gun.. But I already have the FX-9.. I was following Lockhart for years and I know it is (probably) not their fault why took so long to come out but they kept advertising that it was supposed to come out much earlier.. at least 3 years ago. But I will defeinitely recommend this rifle to my friends/family who wants a PCC. or if Lockhart comes out with a takedown PCC like a Sub 2000!!!
I’ve been looking at this and the FX-9, have you shot both and what’s your opinion of the FX-9..? The FX-9 has a good reputation but I’m finding that it doesn’t have as many options as the Raven…both not cheap.
I really like to use CLP wipes. Just search "CLP wipes" on amazon. They do the same thing any other CLP product does, but it's very convenient to use in wipe form. Makes it easy to get everything cleaned and lubed.
I just got my raven 9 today and I found the handguard is a little bit wobble. Did you have the same problem when you first got it? Is this acceptable for a brand new gun?
I had no wobble at all and I don't really know how that would be possible. The front takedown pin goes through the handguard, so it should leave no room for any movement. I think you should contact Lockhart, because I don't see how that would be possible if everything is functioning correctly. Edit: Check if the barrel nut is tight, that is the only possible thing I can think of that maybe makes sense.
Ya, that is super weird and absolutely should not be happening. I'd be interested to see a video of what's happening, reply with a link here if you can.
So long as it's not loose at the base, that is fine. That's not really wobble, more flexing, which is meant to happen on freefloating handguards (same thing on mine) It allows you to shoot while resting on objects without moving the barrel.
Would love to see a comparison video between this and the K9 and FX9.
Thanks for the in depth review
Good video. Just bought the 556 raven. Cheers!
Best looking Canadian 5.56 Semi-Auto for sure.
kodiak side charging handle rebooted on the raven, that is unfortunate newer platforms are not learning from older platform issues.

I have no first hand experience with the FX-9. I think your assessment is accurate though
The stock is by Mission First Tactical. Its not a generic stock. Its actually after market low profile stock and nothing close to an M4 stock
I know. The gun comes with an M4 stock, I put the Mission First stock on the rifle.
Are you a BC/Vancouver Island boy? I am jealous of your ranges.. You guys got some trees for shade. My range is a desert.
For now, yes. I go to Victoria Fish and Game.
Great review.
Can u name few products to clean/lube this beast.
Will be greatly appreciated

@@bats8888 sounds good, will order it right now

@@bats8888 The barrel is solid and tight, only the handguard has a slight wobble.
Let me see if I can upload a video to show the problem.

@@bats8888 My reply got deleted twice. I have the vid in my chane1.

Thoughts on the fx-9?
I have no personal experience, so I can't say anything definitively
@bats8888 right on thanks. I'm thinking about what to get... I don't want to wait 3-5 weeks from lockhart for the 9
I’ll be out Sunday with a 556 raven 😉😉 if u would like to check it out. Mp range 11 am
Those exist?
Yup, slowly rolling out now
@@bats8888 I can expect a review then lol
We'll see. I would like to review the 7.62x39 version, but I need to see what happens with the new proposed ban in the next week.
@@bats8888 is the one where they still wants to ban semi-autos
Are the .458 SOCOM mags still legal?
By the text of the law, it should be yes.
But the horse police will likely arrest you if they catch you with them.
@@bats8888 well, I'm your huckleberry ;)
R u using this for idpa ?
I haven't done IDPA, but I totally would use it.
$2000 rifles shouldn’t have quirks at this point Canadian companies should stop trying to make their own guns and just try to get more Chinese imports
Dude you spent way too much time talking about the recoil on a 9mm rifle 😂😂😂😂
Overpriced and poor quality
