    hmm very interesting. the cutting out on the comica is odd. I have not seen this in other reviews. did you pinpoint why this was happening? it seems that your recording device was introducing noise as they are more similar than I would have guessed great review! thank you for your help I will buy these two as well as moman-c2 and run some more tests thanks!

      Hi Devin, you might also want to check out this video th-cam.com/video/uo0czr3zRPw/w-d-xo.html about the Lark 150 which is also a duo wireless set I recently reviewed.
      The cutting out: as far as I am aware that is just happening when the senders are both very close to the receiver. Otherwise it's fine.

    can you use a USB-C to Apple lightening cable with the Comica into an iPhone ??

    • @OS-yf3ko
      @OS-yf3ko 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are definitely cables I’ve come across that allow this. It’s called a TRRS cable. Even just the basic dongle you get with the iPhone should do it. At least, that’s what I’ve come across in my research. I’ve been looking for over a week now and comparing several different systems. It seems most of them you just need a simple TRRS to lighting cable going straight into the iPhone. Comica has several other adaptors that might work for you in different situations, too. I’d check out their website but haven’t yet lol.

    • @stevenuk
      @stevenuk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OS-yf3ko actually I found out that Rode offer a few cables, SC15 and SC21 (I think) that are USBC-lightening that work with iPhone. The Apple lightening does not work.

    Test should’ve been done by wearing 1 at a time. Having them beside each other will cause interference

    • @ChrisSpiegl
      @ChrisSpiegl  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You’re welcome to do a better test, and also, I don’t hear the interference you’re mentioning.
      Aside from that, there is also good reason to do the test at the same time since that gives the most accurate measure in terms of having the same exact sound sample.
      I hope you got some value out of the video and you have a great day. 🌸👍

      Pretty much never. But I thought it was important to point out because I ran I to the situation while setting things up and testing it out and was really confused - even thought my unit was broken for loosing signal. But turns out you just have to put things farther away from each other. 😅

    Is the audio quality the same if i plug the lavalier microphone into separate cell phones instead of the rode go?

  • @idahofallsmagazine3691
    @idahofallsmagazine3691 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    1:35 walking away from the camera -- that's a problem right there, isn't it? Turn around and the signal drops.

    • @ChrisSpiegl
      @ChrisSpiegl  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can switch the setting on the receiver. Stereo means that both mics are recording to separate channels. If you switch it to MONO it then records both mics into one signal. You can then change the volume of one channel to be less loud (kind of acting like a backup recording) if you want - but that is of course optional.

    • @ChrisSpiegl
      @ChrisSpiegl  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Joelle, my honest thought is: you would have to ask the manufacturer or test it. Because I don't know.
      I would guess it works, but I can not be certain. The only thing that I can say is that the Comica worked next to the Rode, so those two did not interfere on each other.
      Good luck and have a great day 🌸.

      Not sure what you mean, can you clarify please?

    • @tdata545
      @tdata545 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ChrisSpiegl Rode sometimes likes to use 4-Pole (TRRS; aka Mobile phone and tablet jacks) connectors for their mics. Their shotgun mics for mobile use was known to use that. SO, to accomodate people who'd hook it up to non-TRRS also known as TRS (or stereo jacks) or TS (mono-jacks) usually found on cameras. So Rode wired their mobile shotgun mic to use either end of their double male cable. One end was TRRS (for phones and modern cameras) and the other end was TRS (Stereo for older digital cameras or voice recording devices like the Sonys I love using).
      The Rode item number is SC7, RODE-SC7.
      hoped that helped.

    • @ChrisSpiegl
      @ChrisSpiegl  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@tdata545 Thank you for this information share. However, to my knowledge, you can't just use the Røde SC7 and reverse it to work with either mic. At least not with the Røde Wireless Go. However, then again… the Røde Wireless Go actually ships with the SC7 and the TRS to TRS cable so you can use it with phones and real cameras. Now, some other mics from Røde like the VideoMic NTG for example actually have some logic built in to be able to detect wether they should use the TRRS or TRS connection and work with just a TRRS to TRRS cable and are compatible with phones and cameras because of that.
      Sending some good vibes this morning and hope you have a great day 🌸.
