My favourite was the Mamba Max. First brushless esc I ever had. Paired with a 7700kv motor , it was a beast. I unfortunately broke it , cause I put the battery wires in the opposite direction.

It's nice there's someone out there that actually knows. I always have had a stammer/ stutter etc. It has always been an issue on my end especially when making review videos I'll actually have to re-record many parts so it doesn't sound that bad.

Have you ever watched the kings speech?
If not I would Highly recommend it. Pay attention to the different techniques that were taught to the king. I learnt all that through trial and error long before the film came out.
Also, I think your audience would understand if it came through in the videos, if they don't, well, I suppose there is no cure for stupidity.

Man i will always be a castle man myself, they have proven themselves time and time again. I have a mmx6s combo in my 2wd slash speed runner pulling over 200 amps and barely even kicks the fan on, and a mamba x combo in my 4wd stampede speed runner pulling over 160 amps and again barely kicks the fan on. These things are proven bad ass! Love the content, cant wait to see what else u got coming on the channel this year!

I'm a big Castle fan and only run other brands if they came with the truck (with one exception). My favorite ESC is the Mamba Monster X w/1515-2200kv motor that I have in my two Ryfts. In my Kraton 8s speed runner I use an XLX2/1100Kv combo, in my Xmaxx basher I used a MMX8S with the stock motor. My custom Clodbuster has a pair of Mamba X ESCs with 3800kv motors. The only trucks that I don't have Castle products in is my crawler and my Kraton 6S EXB. The Exb will get a Castle product at some point.

I really miss the Mamba Max Pro.... sometimes the BEC was problematic, but one the best all around ESC I've ever ran...
I'd consider that ESC "old gold". It was a superb ESC at that time!

Thanks for the video...outstanding info. Before I get to answering your question, I'm curious why you didn't actually include all of the X-series ESCs - you missed/forgot the MMX (ie. the 6S version that's between the Mamba X/Cobra & MMX-8S).
That said, for the past few years, the Mamba X, MMX, and MMX-8S have been my "go-to" for land vehicles...but, I have a strong feeling that, moving forward, install is using the MMX, I'll be going with the Cobra. Also, in my boats, my standard "go-to" has been the various Hobbywing SeaKing ESCs...but, again, moving forward, I'm very interested in giving the Castle Hydra ESCs a try (personally, I'm not a big fan of Hobbywing, but have had visually no other options until Castle released these new Hydra models).

Top speed? I'd look at the Mamba Monster X8s with a 1717 1650kv motor. Try to find previous Shockwave videos, he's my Typhon and runs a X8s
Great video, my debate is what esc and motor combo to get. I hear the castle is good for racing and speed runs but not good for bashing. Hobbywing is good for racing, bashing but not for speed runs. Is this statment true or false? Can you tell me what would be good for all around use or make a video on the subject. I'll be putting into a kraton 8s by the way.
I have the mamba x8 in my drag car with a 14000kv TP. I haven't tested it yet.
I have to say the mmx8s is a perfect fit in my dr10m no prep car and it runs a stupid high kv motor like it’s no sweat

@@InnovationRC Awesome! I too picked up 2 of the new mini b brushless rtrs. Had to make one a speed demon. 55t spur with a 23t pinion has got me 62mph so far with the micro x2 esc/motor combo. Still power wheelies at full throttle so next step is trim the rear wing, adding the front wing, and I found a brass hinge pin block to add weight up front. Even sneaked the b-link programmer under the body for on the fly tuning and data analysis.

I use the mamba x in everything!! I love it for my crawlers. I used it in my drag cars when I was racing. It kind of died down. You should review the copperhead! I feel like it's more common for a lot of people and I'm curious what kind of amps you're getting out of one lol
The copperhead is a great ESC on a budget. 4s, sensored and limited data logging under $140 is amazing. But it isn't an X series esc. I should do a regular Castle ESC review maybe?

The ghost Cobra ace is just a bricked & pre tuned Cobra 8. Great choice!

Hello I'm new to the channel and I have a question about the "mamba monster X" do you know why it says in the specs not to run a batteries over 5000mah? It's kinda putting me off because I don't have batteries that small and I would like more run time anyways. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Love the content if I don't get a reply great channel !!
I would disregard the over 5000mah thing. That's just runtime, it only helps with distance of time running and voltage drop under load. It's probably saying that because they don't want people to over load the esc

From what I read it said not to go under that mah rating
Because the escs pull so much power anything under 5000 likely wouldn’t do the esc justice

Would you recommend running Traxxas batteries on the MM8s?
Never, those batteries are made to run in stock Traxxas cars. If the ESC outperforms the batteries and if your setup is very demanding, you'll puff the batteries up which could be very dangerous. You need real batteries with real ESCs. Be careful!

Yes! The X8s and the new Cobra 8 esc
Good video innovation rc only thing is the cobra 8 is a horrible value to buy a mmx8s is 5 dollars more and for the size of vehicles the cobra 8 will go in you can fit the mmx8s as you showed in the video.
The reason for that is because the output performance is very similar between X8s and Cobra on 6s efficiency wise. The X8s can just run higher voltage. I agree what you are saying but you aren't wasting your money, if you aren't going to see 8s you'll still do amazing with a Cobra 8. But if you have the extra 5-10 bucks def get a X8s if the slightly larger size doesn't affect you! 💪
I guess so but just doesn’t seem right. a hobby wing max6 g2 is 60 dollars less for an 8s 200amp esc just seems a bit messed up.

Both Mamba X and a Cobra 8 will do what you want. Depending on how much room you have, if you could fit a Cobra, do it

Great job...But I'll never will buy a Castle esc until they come out with a HV version because all I run is 12s so my go to esc is a max 4 HW!! Until then I'll never give Castle a dollar of my money...just my opinion!! Im sure Castle ecs are great!!
I respect that regardless! If Castle makes a high voltage 1/5 ESC it'll be wicked. Based off what it can already do on 8s, 12s would be game changing for big trucks. They didn't make a high voltage ESC yet because the market doesn't justify the R&D for it. Not everyone runs super high voltage above 8s. 12s takes a special set of skill to work with regarding setup and car, and you I'm sure you got it! But, I never said they won't make one 😃
I'm sure it'll be 2 or 3 years down the road for the 12s castle but hopefully sooner tho...thanks for your expertise

Would be pretty funny if anyone tried to put this mamba micro x2 in a 1/24 or 1/18 crawler. Its meant for 1/10 crawlers or 1/18 bashers.
Already have it in my scx24! Have to make a video on it haven't had the time though

The mamba micro x2 can't be used on an mini erevo. It even says on there website. Definitely do not put that in a rustler.
I installed one on a mini Revo and it does double standing backflips. Then blows the diff shortly after
