You should try putting clay around the bottom or sides of the barrel. Let it become a ceramic layer. Ceramic material is pretty poor at conducting heat compared to metal, so that could help prevent the water from getting too hot from regular cooking. It also holds heat longer than metal.
As a fellow burn barrel pizza chef, my advice is this: Don't use a grill insert, use a solid piece of metal without holes. P.S. your video editing skills have really improved!
Great video! Really cool build. I was wondering if the barrels will be able to stand the heat over many uses? I feel like they'd warp eventually. Regardlees, looking forward to future vids!
Hmm.. That was something that I had thought about, but i've used it at least a dozen times now and so far I haven't noticed any warping. I didn't show it in the video, but I put some rocks and gravel in the bottom of the burn barrel to keep the hot coals from directly touching the metal. I think that helps some to keep the barrel from getting too hot.
Can you explain the part how you make the water with no pump to have such a great preasure? (and no electiricty) from a point which is higher then the water line?
Dude take a pizza pan instead of baking paper... Thats literally paper sprayed with pfas, idk how nice that is to burn and seek into your meal. But really nice pizza, i might steal that recipe x))
