- Cradle Mountain was the best part of our Tasmania Road Trip.
Cradle Mountain Tasmania is famous for many reasons and rightly so.
Cradle Mountain summit walk is a hike to die for, the views and the path is challenging yet breathtaking. But that's not all you can do there. If you are a beginner or moderate hiker, there are plenty of walks to explore Cradle Mountain that are suitable for every age and fitness level.
The Cradle Mountain hike that I did was up to Marion's Lookout which is a moderate to difficult hike and takes about 2.5 - 3 hours return. I found it moderate and if you are into fitness, this is one hike you cannot miss.
If you are staying at Cradle Mountain Lodge, then take the shuttle bus from there to Dove Lake, register your walk and start exploring. If you are staying anywhere else, like I did at the Cradle Mountain Hotel, park your car at Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre and take the shuttle bus to Dove Lake.

1. Dove Lake
2. Lake Lilla
3. Wombat Pool
4. Wombat Peak
5. Overland Track
6. Marion's Lookout
7. Ronny Creek
8. Ronny Creek Visitor Centre

This is easily doable solo! Just wear good shoes and register yourself before the hike at the visitor centre for safety reasons :)

Where's the nearest bathrooms on Cradle Mountain? Since the hike will be a few hours long from the summit and back.
I went there almost 2 years ago and now I totally forgot! There is one at the visitor centre but I cannot remember if there’s another on the trail.
