@@andijvie3119 dude I also make jewelry and watch tones of other videos but to me this seemed pretty average not sure what videos you watch but I mainly see hand work and tools in the ones I watch. could you maybe describe the tools most often seen in the vids you watch? I would be rly interested
@@Simon-jr2oe For example like: Microscopes, ballvise, air assist graver, carbide burrs, $150 divider, $150 digital caliper etc.
@@andijvie3119 yeah I was amazed at the plastic calipers too but I wouldn't say any of those are supper fancy tools other than the 150$ dividers and calipers which are just unecesarily expensive and a pair of 40$ ones is almost just as good. except for the air assisted graver if you feel that you need one but don't want to pay a few hundred dollars for one they are really easy to make at home if you have a compressor. there are a few tutorials on youtube of how to make them

Could you explain that last part?? So using a smooth metal tool to rub the surface makes for a clean mirror finish after sanding?? I struggle with the mirror finish even when working all the grits
it is a self-modifying tool from a triangular file that I sanded until smooth at the ends then I polished it until it was really shiny
The process is called 'burnishing'. When you rub a high polished piece of hard metal like steel against a softer metal (like gold or silver) the hard metal will impart whatever polished finish it has to the softer metal.
