I miss sawtelle and his 37 d.28 in the band..he was a great bluegrass guitar player..he was the critical part of the bands sound..love that guitar..still see it buzzin..rj.
These guys were the COOLEST. I lived in CO and actually heard 'em at the Niwot Grange Hall! Pete's playing thru some kind of flanger -- "New York Rhythm" It's really great to see Tim and Nick so YOUNG -- where does the time go?
Great band, and a nice tune. I guess we purists resist the electronic amplification of our acoustic instruments. Might just as well have a steel guitar as the banjo here!

Thank You Very Much for posting this video! This is probably my favorite tune by Hot Rize! Been looking for this for quite a while.

I love the singing here. Great song!
That was epic. Mid Winter Bluegrass, No bugs, no snow, just great music!!
Gotta love Flux with the mullet and 'stache! They all look so young, too!
Woo Hoo!
Great video. Thanks for posting!
Great picking & singing.
Charles was awesome!
Jerry Douglas.. the man of a thousand disguises.
AT LEAST YOU GOT TO SEE THEM LIVE!!
IMHO The most distinctive bluegrass band. Not like so many cookie cutter bands. If youve seen one you've seen em all.
Fabulous! 5*****

Pete Wernick is THE MAN!
Awesome!

good stuff
Great stuff!! ***** from Igor
Sawtelle playing a 40 d.18 there on this song. Sounds good.r
Love love love love love and maybe that is Jerry.
It was indeed Jerry.
Cool! I like everything (except the phase shifter on the banjo). Hey, is that a young, skinny Jerry Douglas on the Dobro?
I respect Sawtell's ability and style but I can understand why some people do not like what he plays. It is just a matter of personal preference.
Not a fan of bluegrass at all but this song is tight, I love it
Pete RULES!
How did Pete make his banjo sound like that?
Not sure about the beginning, but his pinky is anchored either at or to the rear of the bridge!
Phaser effect on the banjo mic. Usually the preserve of electric guitar players but Pete made quite frequent use of it on banjo.
Johnny cash aint got shit on these guys
