I remember crying a lot when I first watched it. It is a beatiful story indeed. I love how important the girl is for both the brothers, like her love saved them when they were young, along as her father's. This will be forever my favorite C-drama
Finally a drama where the kid stands up to a parent. You always see where kids give in even when the parents are dead wrong. Respect is a two way road.
The actress that plays the mother is amazing, her portrayal is so good, you hate the character with a passion. The writers have captured the pain of family members having to live and deal with someone with a personality disorder so well.
She never cared about what he wanted....She played on his guilt for 9 yrs in order to keep him by her side. Now that he's finally with the people that actually love him she can't handle it. He was better off without her in his life. His emotional problems/traumas are due to her....now he's at a place where he can finally heal/she shows up. She's blaming her daughter's behavior on him. She's a horrible mother. I'm glad he finally said his peace. He's been holding that in for far too long.
@@MrsWheezer yup....it's a good thing that she walked away from them. It made their lives a little easier because they didn't have to deal with her constant outburst....and he didn't have to deal with his mother constantly blaming him for what happened to his little sister. She should've stayed gone.
What child wouldn't get depression from a mum like that. I learnt a lot from this drama. So I tried to give more love to my little one so she knows I love her very much
If it was reality, i would expect Ling Xiao to have C-PTSD. Depression and anxiety are just symptoms. Years of stress and mental torture by his mom from adulthood and from his early childhood. Anyone would have trauma from her, and she would never truly reform, people like his mother dont really change long term, its who they are, they always find a way to make themselves a victim

His mother tormented him as a child wrongly blaming him for the death of his younger sibling ( they were both young children and it was a tragic accident absolutely not his fault), she then abandoned him for years. He then goes to study and is completely manipulated by her again she guilts him into looking after her and his half sister, she hides his phone and credit cards so he can’t get home to china. This guy is absolutely traumatised by this toxic mother, he has awful psychological issues, nightmares he barely sleeps!!!. When the mother left, he was brought up by his father, his neighbour who had a beautiful daughter and their adopted son, all 3 children were incredible close and both dads helped bring up the kids they were and are an amazing family unit. When he returned home he fell in love with the girl ( he already loved her I think before he left to study), she was the girl he grew up with, there was a little bit of angst initially as her foster brother ( not biologically related), had also fallen in love with her, but to be fair the 2 boys sorted it, well all 3 of them did and the dads excepted it ( one dad was hers, one was his), of course this tyrant mother doesn’t accept her and will try and cause trouble, but their love is very strong.
awesome explanation Sharron. His mother is evil, everything evolves around her. And all the horrible things she did as well as abandoned him is unforgivable. Her tears mean nothing, her words are hollow, fake. Great acting because we all hate her so much!
Good job summarizing the story but I don’t think Steven(the second brother) had like a romantic love for her. I think he was just confused. He loved his family and thought he could make it lasting forever or something like that by being with her. I think he just wanted them to be a real legitimate family( I added legitimate because I think they are as real as a real family gets) and he got that with his mom marrying their dad
I think part if not main reason she doesn't like Jianjian is because she's a reminder of the past, the person and family that always stood by him when mommy dearest didn't.!

His mom runs off abandoning him and his dad. He grew up with two father's another boy who was abandoned and they found love. Now she comes back treats his gf like dirt and does this to him. Manipulative mom.
actully she was not allergic to walnuts, the sister ate a walnut whole and choked to death, and Lin Xiao could not go get help because his mom locked the gates so he cant open them,in in another ep you can see his dream about being locked up behind bars screaming for help.
if the mother did not lock them up brother should have asked help for his younger sister the fault was for the mother who went to play with her friends and left children alone
Actually, little sister loved walnuts and her mom used to give them to her all the time. The issue was that she left a 6 or 7 year old alone to look after a toddler while she went to play mahjong with her friends. The toddler choked on the walnuts and he was not able to get help because she locked had locked them in and no one could hear him screaming for help. She could not mentally or emotionally deal with the death of her child or her culpability in the matter and went so far as to try and erase every shred of evidence that her daughter even existed so she would not be reminded. In her guilt, she developed severe mental issues (like survivor's guilt, depression, severe PTSD...etc) and shifted the blame on to the only other person who was there - her son. Even though she was in serious denial about the accident, she knew the blame lay mostly with her and developed a persecution complex thinking that everyone blamed her and was lashing out as a result. Her husband was of no help because he did not understand what she was going through and his method of dealing with the tragedy was avoidance by burying himself in work and not talking about it at all. Eventually, since she never got mental help, she could not cope anymore, divorced her husband, ran away to Singapore, and gave her son away to the neighbor's daughter. This is also the source of her resentment towards her. Even though she is in deep denial, she knows who is really at fault for what happened, she knows that she abandoned her son, and she knows that the girl and her family is the one who took care of her son when she wouldn't and couldn't. So it is a mix of guilt and shame for what she did and how she treated her son, and resentment that they became his family instead of her - even if that was the result of her actions. Every time she is faced with the girl, she is reminded of her behavior, what happened in the past, and the things she has done.

@Teta Ingrid Gatarayiha argh reminds me of my husband oldest niece having to care for her 3 younger siblings. She called me instead of grandma trying figure out the how get the TV to work keep the kids entertained. Her mom was out drinking. Shame she wasn't in the US. I would made my husband report her dumb ass.
She didn't look after him but also blamed him. Even after gaslighting him into staying with her after accident she never looked or helped him. She was just using him.
Count it as a blessing, if you grow up in family that parents love and take care of you, rich or poor. Remember, out there, there are innocent kids that suffered worse, than what you are going thru. Good thing we have our True Father, Our God, He picked up kids that were destroyed and suffered, and try to put them together like He created you to be. Don't ever give up, God is always with you 😢
She traumatized him as a child. Then traumatized him again as a teenager when he went to live with her. And continued to traumatize him as an adult. I felt so bad for him through the show.
telling him he was at fault for his sisters death and abandoning him at a young age then coming back as if he’s something you can just leave there and come back to then expecting him to accept your new family then getting into a car accident having him waste his life with you in misery taking care of you even though you never took care of him? coming back to “repent for your mistakes”? best way to repent is to stay far far out of his life💀
Great scene and prop to him to stand up to his mom for her. He did a good job here. I hope he will have a better character role to come back. TSY is a great actress too ❤❤

She was a horrible person. So self centred and manipulative. He was right, the others loved and cared for him. This was one of the best dramas I've ever watched.
I clicked because I LOVE when the male lead stands up for the female lead its so rare in asian dramas ESPECIALLY CHINESE DRAMAS XD IT MAKES ME WANT TO WATCH THE DRAMA PLUS THE LEADS ARE SO SO PRETTY
He doesn’t owe his mother anything. She abused him mentally when he was young and abandoned him when she couldn’t take it anymore. The mom definitely has psychological problems and it’s unfortunate that no one is protecting her two children.
More like her son raised her in vain. 😂 some people are not meant to be parents. I love this drama for touching on such topics. It does well in balancing the good and bad things that come with everyday life.
The worst thing about the mother is that she knows. She can see how he feels about her and their situation. But she just can't let him go because she needs him. She sees his pain but she convinces herself that it's not a big deal because they're family. She knows their relationship is bad but she pushes all the responsibility to mend their relationship onto him. She just sits there whining about their situation thinking only about herself and how it's his job to make everything better. She feels like she's living in hell but instead of trying to get out of there, she just drags Ling Xiao to be in hell with her. That's why she doesn't like Jian Jian and her family, cause she knows they can pull Ling Xiao out of that hell, and she's too worried about herself being alone there.
The aunt is so interfering. Li jian jian was trying to please the mom so much and the aunt says she didn't. How messed up. Good for Ling Xiao for standing up to his mom
Not her sister saying she would've raised him in vain if jianjian and ling xiao got married. First of all she didn't raise him, she left him when he was young and mentally and physically abused him since he was young. She even blamed the death of his little sister on him as a kid. I really wished ling xiao didn't forgive her in the end.
Дети выросли. Только без мам... Это плохо, папы создали для них условия для жизни. Что она хотела? Да ещё обидела девушку как бы между прочим. Каково это сыну видеть....
You can’t blame him to hate you because you don’t care about him and you left him to li Jian Jian .love and care is the most important thing to our family..
You cant blame your son if he hates you. Because you raised him full of hate. He grow with all of the pain that he got from when his young. A big lesson to all mother's you will rip what you saw. You have no right to embarrassed and insult her girlfriend. Your son is not your puppet that he will marry a woman you want him to get married. He is adult and mature to have his own decision.
The saying is 'reap what you sow', not 'rip what you saw'. It is a farming reference - reap is another way of saying harvest and sow is another way of saying plant.
One started to watch Korean version but this Chinese one is the best.Better cast and a more mature drama.Korean one is only for teenagers not not older generations.
Apart from torturing you future DIL, you have ruined your kids childhood when any child needs the mother and when it's time he become indipendent you want to compensate childhood truma ??
Se dice madre y cuando lo abandono no miro él daño que hiso solo le importo su bienestar y ahora xque este niño tiene que hacerse cargo de alguién que nunca le quiso ni le amo ni respeto como hijo o ser humano eso duele y es real
"If he marries that girl, you raised him in vain." But thats the point, she DIDN'T raise him. THE GIRL YOU HATE'S FAMILY AND HIS DAD DID. Why does he like the neighbors and his dad so much? Maybe because while you decided you didnt want to be there and hold onto your family they chose to take care of him and hold onto each other. You LEFT him, started a new family and are confused why he doesnt care for the mew family as much as he does the neighbors who raised him? Okay 🙄
*spoiler* His mother abandoned her family to have another family. She blamed ML for killing the sister, yet it was the locked them in the apartment alone. He couldn't get her help when the the sister was choking. His dad and the FL dad worked and helped each other out raising the kids. Second lead lived with the FL and her dad. Full on rollercoaster😄

I felt so bad for him through the show.
telling him he was at fault for his sisters death and abandoning him at a young age then coming back as if he’s something you can just leave there and come back to then expecting him to accept your new family then getting into a car accident having him waste his life with you in misery taking care of you even though you never took care of him? coming back to “repent for your mistakes”? best way to repent is to stay far far out of his life💀
What right does she have when she abandoned him yet made him serve her needs and all that burden.
This drama was so good can never get over with acting each character was so damn good !!
凌霄可以容忍陳婷對他的冤責,但絕不能看到尖尖受委屈。尖尖是他的“絕對值”。
This is one of the best Chimese dramas I've seen I've watched it twice. Excellent story and stellar cast. Loved it.

I love this show. Superb acting!
This has to to be one of the best dramas ever. Every actor did an amazing job.
In this scene, I appreciated more the honesty of the mom than the backstabbing aunt. lol!
Great scene and prop to him to stand up to his mom for her. He did a good job here. I hope he will have a better character role to come back. TSY is a great actress too ❤❤
Chen Ting is one of those people who are happy only when she makes others as miserable as she is.
@이승기 Leeseunggi Thanks for all the clips. Because of them I have gotten hooked on chinese dramas. 💗
I watch mostly Kdramas, but seen plenty Cdramas and other asian dramas. This is my fave Cdrama and in my top 3 of all asian dramas. It's awesome and so is the cast. I'm about to finish my 109th Kdrama and plan to take a break to rewatch my favorite dramas.

She was a horrible person. So self centred and manipulative. He was right, the others loved and cared for him. This was one of the best dramas I've ever watched.
The best C-drama I've ever watched..
All the actors in this drama have great acting skills
Let's just forget the story , and appreciate song wei long..
I clicked because I LOVE when the male lead stands up for the female lead its so rare in asian dramas ESPECIALLY CHINESE DRAMAS XD
IT MAKES ME WANT TO WATCH THE DRAMA PLUS THE LEADS ARE SO SO PRETTY
This is very very nice drama.
Some time very funny.
Some time I'm crying.

Esse é,sem dúvida alguma,um dos doramas mais lindo que já assisti!É maravilhoso!❤️❤️❤️

I was so glad for him when he told her off. She was a horrible, selfish, self-pitying mother I've ever seen.
he his brother and sister and he loves each other?
@@lisacoreenne2342not biologically related
Отлично сказано!
This show made bawl my eyes it was good frustrating amazing hurtful and cute
I love the show like seriously
Дети выросли. Только без мам... Это плохо, папы создали для них условия для жизни. Что она хотела? Да ещё обидела девушку как бы между прочим. Каково это сыну видеть....
You can’t blame him to hate you because you don’t care about him and you left him to li Jian Jian .love and care is the most important thing to our family..

Excellent drama, true & supporting love❤️❤️😘😘
They love me... why you don't love me.. what a words..
The lead male childhood story is the saddest among all roles.😇👍
You cant blame your son if he hates you. Because you raised him full of hate. He grow with all of the pain that he got from when his young. A big lesson to all mother's you will rip what you saw. You have no right to embarrassed and insult her girlfriend. Your son is not your puppet that he will marry a woman you want him to get married. He is adult and mature to have his own decision.
The saying is 'reap what you sow', not 'rip what you saw'. It is a farming reference - reap is another way of saying harvest and sow is another way of saying plant.
Asi se debe ser con esos padres que se creen intocables y que quieren corregir sus errores demasiado tarde, los hijos también merecemos respeto.

One started to watch Korean version but this Chinese one is the best.Better cast and a more mature drama.Korean one is only for teenagers not not older generations.
When parents are so dumb when they know what is real love and they let there children and they control them
Jijian ja pode deixar de tentar agradar essa megera, o namorado não pode salva-la sempre e é desgastante pra ele
It’s ep 36 btw
Apart from torturing you future DIL, you have ruined your kids childhood when any child needs the mother and when it's time he become indipendent you want to compensate childhood truma ??
She really isn't trying to compensate she wants him to serve her for ever more
🌸 She only wants to control him in every aspect of his life. She’s like a parasite.
Hacen las cosas mal, los marcan en su niñez y después quieren venir a imponer su presencia y reclamar respeto cuando no se lo han ganado.

Isn't it her fault for locking the door and leaving him and her sister at home alone? Why is she blaming him all the time...

"If he marries that girl, you raised him in vain."
But thats the point, she DIDN'T raise him.
Okay 🙄

She really nailed the role of being a gas lighter mother. My most hated character in Cdrama ahaha.
*spoiler*
His mother abandoned her family to have another family. She blamed ML for killing the sister, yet it was the locked them in the apartment alone. He couldn't get her help when the the sister was choking. His dad and the FL dad worked and helped each other out raising the kids. Second lead lived with the FL and her dad. Full on rollercoaster😄
他媽媽不要他,只跟爸爸李叔叔照顧他,他媽媽沒有養過他
Such a cruel mom😡
