Well good point however, there was fire in it and if they did not cut down the tree and remove it, the fire could of spread affecting more trees and then eventually starting a wildfire that could burn millions of acres destroying the ecosystem, killing the wildlife and destroying more trees so it was necessary to remove that tree
Would you rather kill one tree or a whole forest and community? Sometimes things are not what they seem. Also, that tree was burning from the inside, heavily compromising it's fiber's structural integrity. These are the things that kills Wildland Firefighters.

Thank you, it's not our intention to RUIN the Forest but to Preserve it. By removing a Burning tree we mitigate the spread of Forest Fires.
