@@ewanbristow honestly this looks different enough in features Ive already justified to myself getting this as well but im so broke. Going to have a look at some of the other free ones I saw you made and download plugdata.

You could hypothetically use this to create shape shifting reverb IRs, assuming you are using convolution to produce these nonlinear filters. Nice stuff!
@asynchronousongs less this, more blending 2 IRs together in a way where every frame of your table produces the reverb of a room whose size is between the sizes of the rooms at positions 1 and 255. Which would let reverb “move” relative to the listener
@@grindstoneii oh that sounds cool! but then you'd need a wavetable convolution reverb (which sounds like a sick plugin idea) instead of a wavetable filter, unless i'm still missing something
@ this plugin likely already uses convolution to filter. It’s one of the most common ways to filter in the time domain. Also, the decay knob is a bit of a giveaway ;)
@@ewanbristow Well, I was just looking into how I would approach making something like this. I don't have a clue right now but I'll definitely use yours as a reference!
This is really cool man. When I try and modulate the wavetable position or sample format it doesn't work. & in Ableton the plugin doesn't make any sound unless you click off it. Would be sick to get some automation inside the plugin, like some LFO's.

hey! I would 100% reccomend "realtime music and sound" by this guy called andrew brown. He taught me everything i need to know. Also, check out pd-tutorial.com That's a goldmine
This might be silly idea (and impossible to pull off) but it would be cool if plugdata would release some kind of snap-heap type plugin which we can use to combine community made patches and apply LFO's to individual knobs etc.. basically everything snap-heap does but exclusively for plugdata patches :D
Awesome work, Ewan. One thing I noticed was that I wasn't able to map the Decay, Bass, Shift, Flip parameters to Macros (I can for Vol, Gate, Formant, Hi-Shelf, and Wave position). Is this a bug?
@@ewanbristow Thanks! Decay, Bass & Shift are now mappable, but Flip still can't be mapped (as far as I can tell). Also one thing I noticed with the update is that if you map wavetable position, the slider on the VST can become disconnected from the actual wavetable position. So if you change the WT position with a macro, the slider on the VST stays where it was. Not a big deal, but probably not by design. Thanks again! Great plugin.
You are such a star, all your plugins are my favourites and really appreciate your work! Unfortunately after using your units via plugdata for about a month or so, my ableton rejects it and opening plugdata will instantly freeze/crash my projects, just wondering if you've had similar reports to this or if you have any idea what I can do to troubleshoot it? IDK how are you using that in FL Studio. My legit copy of the latest stable 2024 doesn't save the settings. Plugdata ver. 0.9.1, both CLAP and VST3. If I as much as reopen the project or drag-n-drop the plugin, the settings are not saved. It LOOKS on the interface like they are, but they are not updated and it sounds as it if was reset. Same goes for FlorahLITE, too.
i dont really understand how exactly it works, how does a sawwave fikter not just result in the exact same saw wave? and a sawwave usually doesnt look like that no? and like can u just drag in any sample?
Thank you for this freebie! Sadly, the presets are causing Cubase to crash. Is there a possibility of creating your plugins in the standard VST3 format? This plugdata host seems to have limitations-it's unable to save presets, it's unable to save default preset, and it doesn't retain the default size. Consequently, every time you open a pd plugin, you have to spend extra time setting it up from scratch or, worse, trying to retrieve sounds you found weeks ago.
