Team JTD news Flash. The purchase of the new bicycle has been delayed because Jona used the funds for food required to fill that hollow stomach and legs. Cows are not cheap. Ah yes, the infinite teen appetite and metabolism. Those were the days. 😂😂😂
Very cool video! Sorry that I missed the live. We need to eat more small pies in the US. I have never seen a pie maker like that here... and now I need one!! Great to see Jona doing come cooking! I am retired restaurant cook. I could not imagine not eating red meat. Sorry "Dropped Dad". Though I do love fish. Here in Hawaii we have lots of different native fish, plus legit sushi places.
We are all part of the food chain...start to finish, animals and plants too. Energy needs energy to perpetuate... How we get it is a different story for us all. Ride, Jona, Ride!
Well, that's nice to see! Maybe, one day, as a professional cyclist, you'll be chased by a nutritionist who will tell you how many spaghetti or grains of rice you're allowed to eat. In the meantime: "Bon appétit!"
I'm sorry that I missed the live. I'm curious to know about how many calories Jona burns over the course of a week's cycling? That said, have you tracked how much he eats in a week? in either calories, or dollars, depending on which is easier, LOL!
You want an exotic protean for your Pizza try anchovy, I have had it before, wouldn't recommend. With your vast culinary skills have you started to put on any weight. Where I'm from (California, USA we don't have these pies but they sure look good, Dad can you give some suggestions for a pie without red meat, maybe I could try making one. Hope you summer is going well
Pizzas 🍕 better if you make it your way. Sorry no ketchup this way. Your dad is the best , you and the drive is the best part to me . Hope you stay happy , smiley for the cameras. You guys are , most nice .

Nice of you to advise, him, but I respectfully disagree. The diet of the (near) future is plant-based, for the environment and for the animals. I do agree that there is a lot of nutrition in meat, and nutrition must be watched on a diet without it, but many recent studies point to red meat as very-bad for people. I've been doing a vegan diet for 20 years and at age 80, my health is very good, :o)
@@JonathonWood-s8f Oh, guess you're the dad. I see a lot of misused pronouns from people of other countries. I don't think he meant anything bad by that. BTW great Vid! One of my faves.

Shaking his head in disbelief, trying to calculate how one 140 lb or 64 kg Boy could pack away so much food : ) I haven't been keeping up with your channel. Hey Dad; another great vid! Don't give up on Jona! You're on your way too. :o) I've been doing a vegan diet for 20 years and at age 80, my health is very good, but a vegan diet takes a lot of planning and discipline. I'm doing it mainly for ethics, plus the environment, and lastly for health. I doubt Jona would be eating beef if he had to kill and butcher the animal. Would he kill, butcher and eat that yellow lab?? (Maybe a nice ler...I've heard that the rear legs are the meatiest) So what's the difference between that dog and a cow? When you buy meat at the store, you pay someone else to murder and butcher it, so it's OK?
I stopped eating meat not long after Jona was born. My mother (Jona's gran) grew up on a farm ... we're socialised into eating meat as though it's as essential as breathing and drinking water. WHo knows, maybe one day Jona will come around, but like his uncle (who owned the cows) it will take quite a journey.
@@communicoltd Thanks for your nice response. I understand your dilemma, and at least it's great that he has a role model in the house who I believe he respects. I will say this, that based on all the food that he's eating, he must be burning up a huge number of calories, would he has to replace. In addition, I will have to admit that meat does have a high nutritional profile, so unless he was willing to put in the effort, at this point in time his current diet might be the only answer. One encouraging thing which I have seen is that it seems that young people these days, are more interested in health and in the environment. This is pretty much in the group from about 14 to 16. So, there's a chance that maybe Jona will make changes on his own initiative. It was nice that you took him to the farm, but perhaps something a little more shocking is what's needed. Why not take him to a place where the cows are actually killed and butchered? To see a cow walk in to a facility and then see it stabbed to death and then it's body mutilated can be very eye-opening for most people, if they can even stand watching. When you took him to see the cows, the disconnect between the nice cows and their meat. But once that distinction is clearly made, sometimes awareness awakens. In any case, you have done and are doing your best, and that's all you can do. I recall that Ram Dass, one of the spiritual teachers of the 1970's one time said you can't rip the skin off of the snake you just have to wait for it to fall off naturally. I don't know if YT will kill his comment if I put in the following info, but I do have a video titled epic fitness at 76. It might be a fun watch, not to aggrandize me, but just to show not to limit yourself. Keep up your good work. You've raised a great son, and I'm sure he will be a good force in the world, vegetarian or not. 😃
Hamburgers! But make them yourself rather than buy a load of processed rubbish - same with pizzas. You don't want lots of salt, transfats, colouring etc. And some veg is nice - try some tomatoes or broccoli.

Awesome video Jona. Nice to see Toby again 😊

I agree
Americans only have sweet pies, don't they? Savoury pies are somewhat common here in Ireland, and even more common in Britain.
How many calories does a weekend of cycling burn?
10000 calories maybe of riding

thanks
I laughed when you were trying to get the last drop of BBQ sauce for the pizza,
What is your recipe for those pies 🥧.
Bonjour.
Alimentation d'adolescnets mais il faut manger des légumes verts de temps en temps (haricots, broncolis, épinards ) hum !

thanks so much
Since you like pies try a Greek meat pie or spinach pie they are delicious 😊
