It might be considered a cliche to some, but she truly “owned “ every role she played. She was memorable and magnificent. Heartfelt condolences to her family, most especially her husband and children.

When the newscaster asked if she was feeling ok, Helen cracked that joke, but poor Damien looked like he was about to start crying. So heartbreaking xo

@@orlaw.8213 I think Damien Lewis would be sympathetic to Kate Garraway (the interviewer). Her husband has been desperately ill with Covid over this last 12 months. She has a reputation in Britain for being very decent and likeable and didn't mean anything bad with the question. Most people in her position would probably have said something similar to Helen because her voice did sound very different to her usually deeper sounding tone. I hope she doesn't feel bad about what she said because there was zero harm meant by it. She didn't know she was speaking to someone who was terminally ill.
She should probably know by now not to ask stuff like that. Like wtf. "Are ok you sound croaky" why even mention it, it would make anyone feel self conscious about their voice.
@@uggggggghhhhh @june. Yeah but her voice sounded very different to her distinctive husky tone. If someone asks you about your voice because it sounds different it's probably out of concern. I often get laryngitis when it gets very cold. I wouldn't be the least bit offended if someone asked me about it. In fact once when someone did they recommended some very useful pills to take. I would have assumed Helen had the same thing if she hadn't died from cancer a month later. Kate was just being friendly and warm. You should try it sometime.

She, in my opinion, also fiercely portrayed Anna Keranina; topping every actress who ever played the character before/after her. Only dedicated fans would remember it as one of her best performances. RIP Beautiful and elegant Helen. :(

ABSOLUTELY!!!! I first saw her in Anna Kerenina and was blown away by her performance and beauty. She is the BEST actor in that role hands down and I became a major fan as a result. I'm crushed to learn of this news.
Yup! She captured Anna so well. It was an amazing performance. But the first time she blew me away was when she performed Medea on stage. That was the moment where I really thought how much of an artist she is.
I remember it and she did a great job playing Anna.
I feel for Tom Felton so much. Form what I’ve heard he got really close to Alan Rickman and lost him and now this. :( both were my favorite actors and I’m hurting.
In Harry Potter, even though she played her sinister role brilliantly, she was the one villain I could never root against. Her inherent likability just always shined through. She will be missed
I believe she saved Harry life, she knew Harry wasn’t dead and lied and told everyone he was and she really loved her son draco.

I met Helen and Damian separately and together going to London theatre. She was superb and scary in 'Medea' and funny and poignant in Simon Gray's 'The Late Middle Classes' and the finale of 'The Deep Blue Sea' is, knowing what i do now (it was the last time I would see her act) intensely moving.
Note for Americans: she and Damian got food for medics of the National Health Service they loved so much; we British are very proud of it (more than the monarchy,by far).

I was so terribly shocked when I heard of Helen’s passing, such a loss, not only to her beautiful family but to our entertainment industry. She was a force to be reckoned with. The bit where she said she wants Damien to have lots more girlfriends .. reminds me of when my mum was dying of cancer a few years ago, she very much wanted my Dad to find new partner. She had even been working on a bit of a short list of potential single ladies in the local town (as well as somewhat longer list of people who were a no-go!).
I looked forward to every moment of her on screen. She was breathtaking and ethereal. Such soulful eyes on a delicate porcelin face. You have left us far too soon Helen McCrory. And you will be missed.

Nicola Pegg I am really sorry to hear that my sincere condolences to you and his family . 🤗🤗🤗You are absolutely right it is utterly very sad and devastating to lose someone so young and so early. I lost my sister to breast cancer at the age of just 43 in 2011 then I lost my dad 10 weeks later to liver cancer in 2012 aged 73. ☹☹☹

WOW! I had no idea that McCrory had passed away(tragic loss for all), nor that the actor(Damian Lewis) whose character on Billions I mimic as a YT handle share a similar suffering. I too lost my wife to cancer earlier this year, at home, and we also have two beautiful children. Not a very common thing, so my heart goes out to Damian and his loved ones. Prayers!

Another Harry Potter cast died. It just feels like yesterday the movies were released and everyone was young and healthy. Time passes quickly but along with it unfortunately lives passes as well.
It didn't end too long ago, so I'm a bit surprised about how many of the main cast members have died already.

SHE IS A CLASS ACT...ALWAYS. REMARKABLE UNFORGETABLE TALENT
I first saw her about 20 years ago in a great British series called "The fragile heart" followed by another wonderful series "Anna Karenina"(it was definitely the strongest version of "Anna Karenina" with her as the lead). She was so memorable in both and brilliant in every other movie I have seen from her since. I really respect her courage to go on and have such a successful and brilliant career even up to recently while she was privately struggling with (what we know now) an end stage cancer. RIP

One of the true greats. Classy,cool,kind and devoted to her family,her art and her philanthropic work. Aunt Poll is one of the greatest characters detailed on film, the series would not have been so outstanding without her portrayal. And Narcissa Malfoy, another character whose duality, like Rickmans brilliant Snape,was superb in it's rendering. I mourn both actors, truly part of my enjoyment of the arts. Thank you both from your admirers,rest in peace,we will not forget your brilliance.
