- All this Animal Crossing: New Horizons hype made me want to revisit my old towns from the last 17 years!
Animal Crossing is kind of a difficult series to sell to someone if they aren't already into it. It's a game that brings me joy, peace, and satisfaction that few games can deliver. Easily a Top-5 series for me.

The thing I missed the most in animal crossing was the yard sales in wild world. It was so cool to buy my villager's furniture. I have the fondest memories of that game.

the lowkey sad thing is usually most of us just like play and suddenly we stop without realizing, we never know when its out last time playing a game unless u plan never to play it again, but most of us just end up forgetting about the game
So true... I used to play Wild World so much and then I just randomly stopped playing it and I don't even remember my last day on it.
I think I actually stopped playing it when the Welcome amiibo update came out for New Leaf, so I just started a new town in New Leaf, but I just suddenly stopped playing that game too.
We all plucked our last weed, got our last coffee from Brewster,talked to our favorite villager for the last time. We wish we remembered it but sadly we don't.
The last thing I did in WW was pissing Barold off by hitting him on the head with my net and driving him into pitfalls in an attempt to kick him out of my town because i HATED him.
I still hate him.
I stopped playing new leaf because my 3ds got snapped in half. I was inactive for like 5 years after that until I was able to get a new one just recently and I kept my cartridge in a little pouch. I never stopped thinking about my precious town and residents 😂😭

I dont feel like I’ll ever have nostalgia for another game like I do for wild world. It just had the most magic for me. I remember finding comfort in my town, it was an escape from the real world and even back then I knew I was going to look back at it years down the road and miss it to death. I pawned my DS and my game when I got a little older and I will be kicking myself forever. Watching this made me feel like I tossed an old friend away. Damn 😞

Really enjoyed your town tours, you can tell you actually played and spent a lot of time in them. Usually with town tours people say "omg i was obsessed with this game, i spent hours in this town" but you can tell they spent maybe a month at most in their town.
What I'm saying is its nice to see genuine well loved town tours

The original Animal Crossing gives me so much nostalgia. I used to play it when I was young first thing in the morning.

Weekend mornings with animal crossing were always so special. From the music, the hat horns, nes games, sharing a town with my brother... it'll always have such a special place in my heart.

The original was the first Animal Crossing game I ever played. Although, I never had a memory card for the game, so every time I played, I would have to restart. So I never did get too far. I loved playing the game though, so it never bothered me.
I spent SO MUCH time on WW when I was a kid... I remember I hated Eloise because she was one of the original villagers in my town (who wouldn't leave) and she was such a btch haha. I still don't like her to this day just because of that. Good times. And I considered Cherry a friend because she had a personality back then, compared to New Horizon when everyone's a zombie.

THATS THE SAME FOR ME! i remember playing some disney game on my 3ds when i was a kid and then this year i wanted to come back to my old world. so i charged my old 3ds and then i played the game. the quality looked so bad even though when i was a kid the quality was good.
I see people saying this all on a lot of these kinds of comparison videos. Hell, people are even saying it now about New Leaf. You gotta figure, Wild World and New Leaf were meant to be played on small handheld screens. Taking that and blowing up to a larger screen, you're gonna see every flaw, every pixel, and every rough edge. It's like taking a Game Boy Advance game, and blowing up to the size of a 40 inch TV. You take a game that looks really good on GBA like Aria of Sorrow, and put it on a large TV, and even that'll look like crap.

It still looks good when I play it on my DS but yeah when on a big screen it looks like shit
For the Gamecube game you can play with a HD mod and it looks really good.
I played A LOT of animal crossing as a kid but i kinda just ran around a lot and sold fruit for clothes lmao. My second objective was to get every lovely furniture

I converted my house into a DIY shop in main room, my 2nd room is Aquarium, and everything else is like my house
I mean, I'm new to Animal Crossing. I just started New Leaf. That's kinda what I'm doing. Running around catching fish and bugs to sell, to buy things. At best, I paid off my initial 10k bells and put in for a house upgrade.

yess it was my first AC game. i still have it and sometimes go back and play it when i feel like it! the wild world soundtracks were the best out of all AC games i reckon

Oh i miss those good old days where i first started playing animal crossing. I first started with new leaf when i was 7 time passed and i now realize im 14 years old time flies way too fast i shall forever appreciate my childhood game for as long as I live and super hyped to play new horizons when my mom lets me buy it
My original town was also called New York! Sadly after 9 years, my memory card corrupted and I lost everything. I was devastated... It's comforting to know that there's another New York out there that's still playable! :)

I was barely born when the first Animal crossing came out, but I loved it growing up, and I had every game except city folk. Now I’m 18 playing New Horizons and this video was such a nostalgic rollercoaster.
Wild World will always be my favorite. I miss the old character dialogue, they were much more crabby and less repetitive. 😂
I still love New Leaf and New Horizons though.

I was so confused as of how he placed furniture outside in new leaf and then I realized it was a public whatever(haven’t played new leaf in a while) and had payed thousands of bells for a simple hammock

Does anyone else think the game cube Animal crossing aged better than wild world? 🤣🤣 I grew up playing wild world not knowing there was a game before it and after finding out and I saw some videos I was like how is this game older than wild world?
Also I just recently got Rosie she's great I do path plot re-setting though to have my villagers spread out nearly and where I want to basically so they're neighbors
Also in New leaf they seem to try and move as close to your house as they can which I find stupid but with the update they don't move on paths which is great unless there's no room then they will

yea I love wild world but its rough on the eyes. The DS had a lot of games that aged really poorly because of the desire for 3D graphics on handheld

New Leaf was the first Animal Crossing game i played, and i remember it being the first game i ever bought with my own money. unfortunately, i deleted my town from 2013 about 2 years ago so my siblings could use the game on their DS. i wish i could remember the villagers i had or what my town looked like.

made me so nostalgic seeing a new villager moved in from someone else’s town. really put in perspective these simulation games still are going on even though we aren’t playing. the game she came from probably hasn’t been touched in years and will never be touched again. makes me think ab my game i lost over ten years ago, and how my villagers are probably moving in and out, still running around. weird how interactive games sort of become their own miniature world.
When my siblings and I were younger our family was traveling a lot and we all had DS's and would go to each other's towns. The DS one brings back memories.
I only had new leaf and haven’t visited my town since the amiibo update. I am scared to go back. Also I find it interesting how the main series releases outside of ports go from console to handheld console to handheld and New Horizons is now technically both

Thanks for the nostalgia trip. The Gamecube one has always been my fav just because I feel like it has the most unique aesthetic out of all of them but City Folk is an EXTREMELY close second. I used to play the shit out of it and would trade with people on Animal Crossing forums. It was fun.
i just got new horizons and it’s the first animal crossing game i’ve ever played. it’s great to look back at the old animal crossing games to see what i missed out on because i was too young/didn’t know animal crossing existed! :D i love this video
