Pretty good review overall! There’s other things you don’t get for $800 that I’ve noticed. For exemple, aluminum shock caps witch is huge on my books if you are going send this thing 100ft in the air. Also, it would’ve being better comparing DJI(traxxas) to everybody else.
Straight up most legit comparison I seen on both cars. Those TH-cam Traxxas boys who got the car for free never mentioned half the shit you talked about, yes because they got it for free. $800 car and so many missing parts. Now the Spur gears on the sledge are failing. The Traxxas electronics is shit too. Thunder RC he nailed it even with his Kraton he uses Kronos ESC.
Everything was already said when you compared them like Apple and Samsung. right on the mark. $800 is a huge Sledge hammer hit to most people pockets for none of the additional parts mentioned. Yeah I love my Traxxas cars that are $400 and below and they have those parts you mentioned which doesn't make sense to me at all🤬. So this is a Money 🤑gouge. Market is Greatly inflated and that's on real cars but toy cars. C'mon WOW!
I don’t generally sit through 30 minute videos but I did this time and it was worth the information others didn’t say or they didn’t quite put it the same way you did that got me saying “ good point”. Good job and thanks for the comparison. I have limited funds especially at these prices so now I really can’t afford all of the vehicles on the market and this video got me thinking don’t let my RC addiction put me in the poor house.

Do you have have issues on the rear exb diff? Necessary to upgrade to aluminium gearbox housing and diff casing to make it bulletproof? Thanks mate!
Arrma Kraton is a proven platform. Traxxas needed something to compete with the Kraton and now they have it. The Truggy design was not invented by either of them so I don't have a problem with the Sledge being basically the same design. Kraton EXB is $469 but after you buy the radio, esc, servo and motor you are around the $800 Sledge RTR price. Hell I spent $600 for all my electronics. I don't think $800 is unreasonable for the sledge. I prefer my Kraton mostly because of the ability to upgrade to a bigger motor and ESC. I think both trucks are great in different ways.

love the apple android analogy I do agree, top up the center diff with 20 mil and toss on the faster gears. maybe do a battery mod so you can run any battery. Do all of that, best car on the market!

Finally someone is speaking the truth. You’re absolutely right about how every other influencer on TH-cam just ignored all the negatives about the Sledge. Personally I’m glad that Traxxas came out with a worthy basher. That will only make Arrma step their game up. Competition between companies ensure that consumers win. Go ahead and drop $800 on the Sledge. I’ll stick with my Kraton EXB with a Max 8 Combo system.

I explained it all in my video. It's OK to disagree. Ppl are passionate and loyal to their brand. Traxxas wants to be a one-stop shop for its rc's. From a business perspective I'd wanna maximize profits from my consumers too. Nothing to be ashamed of at all.

A lot of good points.... but how do you figure the EXB is $600?
in the beginning of the video he said the kraton rtr is about $600 and the exb is $450 or so and with coupons you can sometimes get it for about $350 or $360 or so.
Well not in Germany, there is around 1k Euro in my Kraton yet, and still a lot of trouble. No matter what, no Car makes me more problems than my kraton, and no car yet made me less problems than my Maxx. Broke a cvd on my Sledge while a crash allready too. I don’t mind what’s aluminum what’s plastics… i want a car that holds on bashing.
And to the fan… my Arrma need a fan or i have to do breaks before it cooks within the first pack). I drove 2 packs 6500mah with no break on my Sledge without to much heat.
Let’s not talk about what i need to wait for parts for my Kraton… it’s more waiting than driving.

I prefer Apple in this category. After all the electronics needed for the Kraton, price points are the same. In addition, the EXB is like the V5 of the Kraton. So Arma has had four versions to iron out the kinks. Even so, when the EXB launched two years ago, Arma was having all kinds of issues with their LSD diffs. People were waiting six months for replacements. I was one of them. And Arma is still known for having weak diffs that need to be shimmed, brand new out of the box. WTH is that about? The Sledge is V1 and it’s pretty damn close to being on par. Everyone whines about upgrades. NEWSFLASH!!! UPGRADING IS PART OF THE HOBBY! I like having choices to upgrade and personalize my RC. Traxxas does a great job with giving us options. Traxxas isn’t holding a gun to our heads making us upgrade! Part of the issue is freaking TH-cam videos making people think they need to add this and that to keep up with the Jones’s. Do what you want to upgrade. And if you like launching your rig 50 feet into the air at a skate park or in a field……yeah…..things are going to break eventually. People always gripe about Traxxas….wah, wah, wah. Without Traxxas their wouldn’t be RTR’s or an Arma. It’s a business people. Traxxas wants to make money. They have bills and employees to pay. Quit crying and nit picking about stupid shit. Pull the trigger on the remote and enjoy it.
