This movie was actually edited down from 5 hours of footage and cut even more afterwards. Even in its theatrical state, it was still an enjoyable watch. Despite some of the inconsistencies and obvious seams due to so much cut out, i STILL loved this movie. I really hope we get a directors cut
The reason why new asia doesnt have weapons is that they have been depleted due to the war, and instead they are forced to protect their cities. It was also shown that in order for nomad to target the cities they needed to take down the air defence of the cities. Which is what the insurgents did. Also the west doesn't necessarily want to nuke new Asia, it took a rogue general to activate the nukes.
Watched this in theater too. The visuals are awesome. The funny part is that while the US uses megaloman weapons like the Nomad or the battle tank - which IRL would be useless, none other but a big juicy target - the high tech society of New Asia forgot about weapons and techiques which nowadays are common already, like RPG, air defense (and basically missiles), thermal googles, night vision, little sized drones, aerial reconnaissance, etc. How the hell can a city-sized orbital space station surprise anybody by coming in 2055? 🙄
Knowing the US , if they ever built a ship like this then it wouldn't be the only one, there probably gonna be 5-8 in operation while a dozen as mothball
Probably had something to do after LA destruction, I wish they put more explanation for such world changing event. This is basically like post 9/11 world
@@hellosammy4105 The superiority is questionable, as they have only one Nomad and it was said in the movie that the US can't win without it. But even orbital superiority doesn't explain the enormous technological holes what New Asia has and the lack of ballistic missiles. On the other hand, an orbital space station like Nomad has a pretty predictable route and it's also quite "slow". You can't maneuver a thing like this. It's track is sooo predictable.
great job! just 1 inaccuracy - at 12:56 the girl holds the bomb from exploding, but when she get's knocked out, the timer reactivates and explodes the painful lady
The visuals for this film are absolutely nuts, and not in that that was amazing way. More like almost picture perfect way. Just seeing the scanning light traverse bumpy areas is so satisfying and the factory scenes? Just great execution of making parts of the body disappear.
a sudden huge explosion without even a good explanation on what happened and then blaming the AIs for it?. this is like what happened in Buenos Aires on starship troopers.

If you ignore the plotholes and conveniences, its a good original movie by Edwards even for first time solo. All for 80M But damn I wish the world can be used in another movie, world building is special here
I gave up watching this as it was just ridiculous. Somehow they had advanced robotics and yet the AI was stupid. The special forces team landed with flashlights instead of night vision, Nomad flew lower than fighter jets, and the soldiers themselves just made stupid decisions. The eye candy is all this has going for it. Story-wise, you need to close your eyes to make it through.
And also how did Asia united without government and military? What stops US from nuking everything from NOMAD instead of launching direct confrontation? Sure its parallel to Afghanistan, but too much ideas to express for one movie sitting
I stopped around 30 min in, when a US soldier, when he learned that some door works by face recognition. He decided that lifting up a downed scientist to the camera is to easy and he... well... he decided to skin the guy (it is implied). I get it... US military is evil... we all know the drill in these type of movies. But this was just silly.
I pulled through the whole movie somehow but I absolutely agree. It's just ridiculously illogical and predictable. Visuals are good though. It's the kind of movie you can play in the background without paying too much attention and just enjoy the eyecandy once in a while
@janpeszek5897 think ahead my boy. the reason was they are going to need the face for multiple doors and not just one door where they killed the scientist. so carrying a face is more agile than carrying a whole body everywhere.
