what about putting a base coat on the board? I got some BBS blanks, with just whatever random stain color happens to be on each one. For my design, I don't really want to print right on the stain, I'd rather have a solid base color that's the same on every board. Would you just tape off the sides and spray paint the base coat? Or brush it on or something? I imagine full-bleed printing a base layer with just a blank screen isn't an option because you wouldn't be able to reach all the edges due to the concave...
I put down a white base layer for these boards, and then stacked all my colors on top that way the colors don’t become dull due to the wood stain. Not sure how your printing set up is but if you want to cover the wood grain you could spray paint the entire bottom side but sometimes the coats become uneven and hazy looking. Board printing is a tricky game. I’d go for a white base layer under your graphic.
Did you use water based emulsion?
Always wondered how u get multiple colours but in specific spots each time do u have to do a specific screen for each part of the single design ?
one more question: can you say a bit more about the option of putting slits on the screen to reduce tension? are you talking about cutting the actual mesh? or more like cutting into a wood frame screen the way some people saw into a squeegeee to make it bend more? thanks again!

Did you add any sort of finish over the ink when all said and done? I've done finish and no finish to varying results.
I sprayed these decks with a clear coat after the last layer was down and let ‘em sit for 2-3 days. But I’ve gone without a clear coat and didn’t run into any issues. It’s getting skated anyway haha!

where and how big are the slits you would cut to make pre stretched screens loose enough?
I would make 2inch slits on either side of the screen. Two slits up top, Two on the bottom. Then from there it’s all based on feel.

I didn’t do too much, couple centimeters was enough for me
Do i need to eat mushrooms before i screenprint too?
Do the boards need to be sanded before hand?
I don’t same em’. Haven’t had any troubles
do you print those wet on wet? or cure between color passes?
I do em’ one layer at a time. Takes a day for each layer to dry before I lay on the next color.

I used 70
