- A new batch of decks is now available in my online shop worldpeaceindustries.storenvy...
This video is a follow up to my 2021 video where I screenprinted a run of blank skateboard decks that I got from BBS/Generator. The process is much the same but I think I have improved a bit.
One new thing I did with this batch of boards is I experimented with less screen tension, and also made a custom curved squeegee. I hope the tips and tricks I have learned help someone out!
so happy to see you screen printing boards again, love the curved squeegee you made I had luck in the past drilling a hole down the handle and cutting it evers few inches and held it together with some rope. then you just put the blade back in.
Oh that sounds like a coo solution for curving the squeegee! Thanks for your comment, appreciate you watching!
Top job, your prints look great!
Yet another great video. Great job. Loved every minute!
Thanks much!
I’ve been waiting for this! 🌞
Love it❤️ Great job👍
Thank you kindly!
Wooof. I owe you more for my deck!
very sick
Bro you have wild Portland energy
Haha
What do you do for a living? Based on that empty fridge (and access to tools) it looks like you're a teacher.
fire bro
As someone who skates and also builds gunpla. I would love to own one of your decks!
Just posted a new batch for sale! Link in description
These are pretty sick! I’m wondering tho, why not use registration marks?
easy tip for making a perfect squeegee is to just cut some mid sections out of a deck and clamp the blade between them
also blowout occurs when there is a gap between the screen and the deck so pressing hard with the right squeegee will help
Yes good tip, I have seen people do that and considered the same, but I did not have any old decks that would have been wide enough for my squeegee blade (10"), so that's why I ended up making it from the thin plywood I had :)
The last squeegee I made out of a skateboard deck was an11" wide squeegee from a 9" deck. Cut 2 strips width wise of the board then trim off the excess to get the right length. Do that twice. Then piece it all together like the last squeegee you made. The handle, the squeegee material, the hardware and some wood glue will hold it together w no problem.
To prevent blowouts on the top section I use a flat squeegee and pull from the side of the board (rail to rail) instead of nose to tail. And don't pull as hard as you would when squeegeeing from nose to tail.
smoosh a squeegee rubber in between a cut deck it's perfect curve to the deck
I so want to start doing this. But also making and shaping my own decks too. Any advice on how to get started??
Some good TH-cam channels to check out would be GoodRoads and Manak Skates, they do some of that stuff!
What paint type do you use if I want to paint the board white
Hey! Looking to get into this, would you be able to give me the specifics of the printer you're using? Looking for it online but don't want to spend money on the wrong printer!
Will any printer work with the transparency film
where do you buy your blanks
Did you watch the entire video?
Collab? Love to order a boxset and make skate videos promoting you
Dood so stoked! Do you have a insta?
I don't have an insta to share, maybe I should make one :)
