Wow it's the first time i ever see those local Chinese wines. Although it's not that expensive the wine looks great. Maybe in the future it can be available in the international market.
Mark was great! Good subject matter and conversation. Our vineyards here at home in Temecula Valley are overrun with traffic, weddings and post Covid lockdown road trips. I like them much better in the winter. Even though we are entering an economic recession statewide the business here in wine country is booming! Tremendous tourism potential for Chinese wine growing regions with appropriate weather. Will make good road trip destinations when travel restrictions finally lift. Nice video.
Another wonderful excursion into an unfamiliar corner of China's economy. Over a decade ago there were articles about Chinese grape growers starting to make wine. Some rich Chinese bought a few vineyards in France and elsewhere, including Canada's Niagara region. Seems Chinese wine masters have learned well and very fast. Not too surprising. A few days ago was the news of the launch of South Australian wine brand Penfolds which is "made in China", an effort to skirt Chinese tariffs on Australian wines. If quality is good and price is right it might work despite the very antagonistic postures that Australian politicians are taking against China. Tomorrow (May 21) is the Australian election day.
Great video as always! One suggestion, the moving camera for sitting shots like this, to me, only works well when you have professional equipment. It was a bit disorienting when the camera is shaking doing that.
Does the grace's Chinese wine go well with the burgers ?? Keen to know. At rmb 88 a bottle is cheap even with us herein msia. At this price, one can only hope for was those cheapo table wine at best .
Wow, I thought China only makes fake wines, except for "white wine" vodka type liquor in China. When China doesn't make fakes, it can produce good quality stuffs.
Is there anything left that the Chinese won't copy from others ? Can they invent something of their own ? No. It's all about money for them. Words like artistry or care are not in their vocabulary. With so many amazing wines around the world, I won't be trying chateau Shenzen anytime soon ..
Nice video Paul, cheers Alex
Very interesting to see this. I didn't know so many knowledge of Chinese Red Wine. Good to see this from the Friends' Bar too. Impressed!
glad you liked it!
Can't wait to try YiYuan's Marselan, great video!

Thanks for this. I'm keeping an eye out for the Grace Vineyard wines ! Wonder how long to wait before we can get those in Europe and UK.
Fingers crossed!

I think it would go well with antyhing!
Damn, i'd like to try some of those.
Chinese would have a different tastes on wine. European would have a different preferred wine tastes. So it all depends to region and by countries.
