I have been doing some binging on your channel's videos and as an Australian Egyptian this videos gave me all the feels. But I have to say that I have always avoided travelling Egypt Air despite my many trips to Egypt, just because I had always assumed it would not be a great experience. So watching a positive review video is a pleasant surprise and one that would allow me to reconsider using them in my future trips to Egypt. So thank you for this video. I know this is an old trip but I hope you enjoyed your trip.
Agreed on the Abu Dhabi front - we transited through there both ways for our New Zealand honeymoon (from Dublin) earlier this year. Horrendously crowded, security lines are a free-for-all, and the return stopover was only made tolerable by paying for lounge access.
Great job Dennis! Yeah I’ve only had to do that a few times where I’m like “I’m not going to make a trip report about this one” and then I think “well it’s a nice new cabin and a Frontier A320neo! Sure why not make a trip report!” 😂😂 I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND your odd Intro but o get why. Sometimes you just want to sleep but you try to stay up to film! Anyways great job Dennis and Egyptair 🇪🇬 certainly looks nice especially on their newer fleet of A320/321 neo and A220 fleets over their older B737-800s… I wish they’d stick with the 737 and ordered the B737 MAX family however. Also I did still love your video on Egyptair “Flying Back Into History” on their B737-800. However I’m sorry to say it but their fabulous livery looks great on any aircraft even the A320/21 neo and especially the GORGEOUS A220! I do still like the old design and classic look of the 737s though!😅 All that aside great job as I’ve come to expect my friend! Finally at 2:51 the Egyptair A320neo cabin looks a lot nicer that the QANTAS Business Class cabin on their 737-800s and reminds me a lot of your flight on United Airlines A319 First (Really Business) Class trip! 😊That’s one thing American carriers do pretty well, the seats on their aircraft are much better and nicer feeling than overseas from what I’ve found. Cheers 🥂 Dennis! -Caleb
Misrair is one of the oldest airlines in the world. My mother flew Misrair (Egyptair) in 1947 to Lydda and in 1950 to Nicosia. They were a good company at least in those days. In those days Cairo's airport was called King Farouk airport.
Dennis, I really enjoy your videos. But I'm sorry I don't speak Aussie. I don't know what you were really saying at 5:39, but the closed caption version was "in a remote cage as well as to poop." LOL
I flew with them about 3 weeks ago. Check in agent scammed me. I couldnt buy an extra bag online so I tried at the check in desk. No of course they wont take a credit card but there's an atm in the arrivals area. So old mate escorts me past all the security to an out of order atm. Eventually he accepts his 800EGP in a mix of AUD, CHF, and CLP, basically all the loose notes I could scrounge out the bottom of my bag. Gets me to count it three times, writes out all the exchange rates, "I get you receipt". Then about 10s before I step on to the plane he hands me a badly photocopied receipt for 50EGP.
As a frequent traveller through Abu Dhabi, when you initially said it was the worst airport in the Middle East, I bristled at that thought. Then when you said that it was because it couldnt handle the number of passengers and pointed out the problems with security screening I had to agree. Having to be rescreened during a transit was frustrating as many of the passengers would treat it as a free-for-all and make a bad system worse. Having said that, on my last flight I had to fly with a moonboot, and when I got to security, a guard saw my boot, he removed one of the tapes and ushered me through a machine which wasnt being used and screened me through that. He thought that wearing the boot would be a problem but I told him that there was no metal in it so walked through with no beeping and was off to a lounge. If I was travelling through there and didnt have lounge access, then I would recommend either having a credit card that gives you access to a lounge, joining a service like Priority Pass if they have a lounge there, or paying for access to a lounge if your stopover is long enough to make it worthwhile.
Had a question about layovers. If you have a 8, 9 or more hour layover in Doha, Helsinki, Korea, London or wherever is it easy to just leave the airport and explore the area for a few hours and get back to the airport and back in the lounge without to much issues or being stuck waiting?
Sorry to say drop this to you lately I would say avoid please, they’re the worst airline to travel with very rude staff from the airport terminal and on board. 😢 I had a bad experience flying with them unfortunately I won’t recommend, I use to see bad reviews and ignored them it is the truth 😮
Hi Dennis. Great review as usual. Welldone and thank you for posting it. I have a question if you wouldn't mind answering. When you use your own noise cancelling headphones do you need an adapter to chane to a three pin plug or is it possible to use just the one pin? Thanks in advance
EgyptAir is unfortunately a hit-or-miss airline. Most of the staff are well-intentioned, but it's clear there's a lot of organisational issues as well as budgetary issues that hinder them from excelling. EgyptAir is a dry airline which is simply inexcusable given Egypt's cosmopolitan history being marred by a rise in often overzealous religiousness. Egypt caters to a lot of western tourists, and they sometimes forget this and miss the mark. Also, I believe Egyptian cuisine needs to be more celebrated. The breakfast option you had looks incredible, but this isn't always the case. Plane maintenance needs to be brought up, and the lounge situation at CAI needs remedial improvements. They need to look at the Gulf carriers and head towards offering that sort of product, perhaps even with a little less over-the-top luxury (they don't need the showers on the planes), but also include more history involved, to cater to Egypt's history.
Glad you had a good flight… I flew on them in February CAI LHR. Worst flight I’ve ever had. Booked business class on that route specifically because they flew the 787 instead of their old outdated 777. Downgraded 2 hours prior to a 777, an hour delay at the gate, literally zero boarding announcement - they just opened the doors and it was a free for all, another 1.5 hour delay at the gate for no reason, one choice of food that was awful, and it felt (and looked) like that plane was going to fall out of the sky. Never again. I will pay too dollar to fly an EU carrier back out.
Always wanted to go to Egypt but as a single women who travels on her own, Egypt is not a place I would do that. Maybe have to do a tour there one day.
Hi Dennis. 737 or A320....LOL😂😂😂 I think we can all forgive a little brain fog now and then. I couldn't believe, when you landed, just how many planes were still wrapped and protected on the ground, and not yet back in service. !
My luggage as been missing for 3 weeks, mail was response once. No effective communication, airline hostess don't treat you with respect. I regret I did board Egyptiar airline
What makes Abu Dhabi so bad stems from the fact that it has grown "organically" (in the loosest sense of the word). It doesn't feel like anyone has done any traffic management. Everything is all over the place e.g. lounges are in the wrong terminal. Egyptair is fine as long as you are not Egyptian 🤣
26 degrees at 7:30am in Cairo. I'm guessing everyone lives in air conditioned residences. I know when I lived in The Bahamas, we never turned off our air conditioning. Those seats looked very comfy, thanks for taking us along on the trip.
Cairo got up to about 33 degrees on the days I was there - also rather humid which was unusual. Down in Aswan it was 40 degrees and very dry - early starts and then back into the aircon! :)
@@CookingAroundTheWorld Solar is pretty rare in Egypt, and would be unfeasible for the majority of the population as electricity is subsidized. Most people rely on a mixture of fans and A/C.

The worst airline ever their customer service at Heathrow Terminal 2 is despicable , they’re extremely rude and abrupt with no good customer service at all. I won’t be flying Egypt air as long as I live. England has gone to the dogs it doesn’t feel like a world class airport, the terminal looks rundown and the staff are extremely unpleasantly rude. The whole experience with Egypt air was a complete nightmare, please passengers avoid 😢
Glad to see Egypt Air is doing better these days, and glad to see that they let you film onboard!
Tiezheng do an EgyptAir review Habibi!
Egyptair is amping up for sure. Love to see it.
Took Egyptair for the first time again in 10 years last year, and have to say they definitely cleaned up a lot since. Especially with their newer AC.
All Egypt Evolve right now not only the air they are building future and evolvingg

I recently flew EgyptAir from London to Cairo. Other than no alcohol served on board, the inflight service was nice. I'd fly EgyptAir again.
Alcohol is not good for your health anyway.😂
u lot are so funny needing alcahol for a 5hr flight
Of course there’s no alcohol- Egypt is an islamic country and its haram to serve alcohol or drink it. Just bring your own
Tim Robbins flying with EgyptAir. What a nice surprise. 😁

Looks a super short haul offering! If only we had this over in Europe. Great stuff Dennis
I flew Egypt Air business last month. Better than post covid Emirates on the 777.
Dennis I have really loved your videos the last couple of yrs.i look forward to your next ones.
From Alex in Newcastle NSW.
Yesterday, I returned back from an Egyptair flight. The meal is insanely delicious.
Under landing was smooth as butter and bread
Actually Egypt air is very good and underrated airline …cabin crew are very warm and flexible.
It always better when it is a pleasant surprise rather than an unpleasant one. Thanks for taking us along!
I'm glad you had a pleasant flight!

Thank you for the video!
It’s a nice and convenient carrier.
You always get more value for your money flying Egyptair..

Overall for a nearly four hour flight it has all that’s really needed.
Does look nicer than a QF 738 business…that’s before you compare the crazy QF prices

I suspect that many of them won't fly again - because of the dry desert air they have a lot of old aircraft parked in Cairo.

Their 737s are tied and battered took from luxor to London back in 2019 .have to replace 737 some point with 320neo
yes i agree - they are now also operating a number of A220's on their domestic routes which are excellent.
