You are literally my comfort videos. Stressed? Watch your videos. Doing homework? Watch your video. Sad? Watch your videos. I just love your content and you are so comforting to listen to and watch. I literally want to be your best friend lol
"... and it was recommended by paperbackdreams, may she rest in peace." 😭😭😭 I miss her videos too!! I hope there's a period in her life in which she can come back. Youse both have the same humour! ❣
just watched all of your videos in one go because i have no life at all and i just wanna say you're already one of my favourite creator on here, you just seem incredibly genuine and i feel like i could listen to you for hours without getting bored
I love that because she reads so many different genres (and is so articulate about explaining what specifically she liked and disliked about each book) that her recommendations aren't just "I loved this one so you will too!" I feel like she understands so well that even incredible books aren't meant for everyone.
the Red Rising sequel series is incredible. It's not for everyone since it's quite different from the trilogy. It's even darker, slower paced, adds multiple POVs and some other things. But it's undoubtedly better written. Pierce Brown definitely leveled up after Morning Star.
I am so glad I came over to find you from TT. You are quickly becoming my go to for well-explained opinions and reviews of books I have never heard of. And that TBR quip at the beginning was far to accurate.
Paperback Dreams was one of my fave booktubers and the fact that you remind me of their vibe is why I’ve been eating up your videos, keep up the amazing content! 🫰🏼
Being Mortal is one of the books that has had the biggest impact on me in my life. As a physician, I regularly think about his viewpoint when working with patients.
genuinely was so good! it's a hard book to describe i think in a way that sounds compelling just because of its subject matter but it is soooo impactful
i ADORE your videos oml. even if i dont get a single recommendation that i would add to my tbr, hearing you talk about books so just so fun. i can feel your energy and excitement through the screen. much love, keep doing what you're doing and drink some water
I just wanna say that I absolutely LOVE the way you edit your videos!! it's so satisfying to watch along with the speed of the way you talk, since i usually can't get through videos without skipping through or doubling the speed
I really recommend Girl, woman, other by Bernadine evaristo it’s so so good!! It doesn’t really have punctuation which is not great but after a few pages you get used to it and it’s sooo worth it!!
i’ve been listening to the hunger games series audiobooks in prep for the new movie this fall. they gutted me when they came out, and as a 22 year old i’m still sobbing at them. that’s all i really have to note unless you’ve read the throne of glass novellas
Usually with other videos like these I turn them off halfway through but with Lexi I always tend to watch till the end cause she's entertaining to watch
You popped up in my recommended with one of your unhinged recaps of TikTok books and now I’m binging all your videos. Thanks for being you! Also, where did you get that top?? I neeeeeeed it
I don't know if you've read the memoir What My Bones Know but it is beautiful and gave me insight into with people with C-PTSD deal with and just had me rooting for the author and crying. Which we love a good cry.
I’m ace and was also very disappointed in loveless! I was so excited for it and the characters just fell flat for me. I dnf’d it like part way in as I just couldn’t get into it
i just saw that it's a botm pick!!!!! it's SO GOOD lol i am glad it's getting at least some of the attention i think it deserves. i'll be embarrassed if i'm wrong but also i feel like, very confident about this one
I am so happy you loved You, Again! I selected it as my Book of the Month for September. I lo-key hate the cover, but the blurb made me feel like I would love it and would identify with these characters 🤣
I believe the author’s note in True Biz explains how the ending is intentionally left vague. Don’t want to spoil here but worth checking that out to see if it changes your thoughts at all!
PLEASEEEE do a review on The Silent Patient because it is by far my favorite book and I NEED to hear others opinions and you are my favorite person to go to for books and reviews 💖
i read this a couple of years ago actually - the twist was gas and it was set up well for sure by the narrative, buuut i found that the whole book seemed to only exist to do The Twist, if that makes sense, and so it kinda dragged sometimes for me... i think i gave it 3.5? def was a good read
I highly recommend Jason Pargin (John dies at the end) its neat bc the series doesn't need to be read in order so I recommend This Book is Full of Spiders, one of my all time favorite books. Its horror comedy. And If This Book Exists, You're in the Wrong Universe. If you want a neat YA scifi written in a way I haven't seen before I suggest the illuminae trilogy. I had a LOT of fun with that one.
I clicked on you by chance and you got a new subscriber. You were witty, funny, your editing style was chefs kiss and I wondered if you were late for something by how fast you were talking. Good times. See you around. :D
i read me being me is exactly as insane as you being you. its a sort of coming of age story, but what really made me buy it was the fact that it was made entirely out of lists. & oddly enough, it didnt take away from the plot at all, i binged the last four hundred pages in one night. its a big book but i highly recommend it.
Wow! Great post. I felt the same way about a few books you mentioned including the one on public shaming. Looking forward to seeing more videos from you.
I can so relate to the not going back to school in September and spending all your time reading cus SAME. also, I have watched every yt video you have made and pls keep making them cus I can just listen to you speak about anything for hours
I honestly love this type of videos but I always think that I can read more and I kinda blame myself for not reading how much I want , but this videos are always motivating and inspiring me to do more ❤
Because you liked Being Mortal, you might want to check out When Breath Becomes Air. Neurosurgeon grapples with what life is worth living after he is diagnosed with stage iv lung cancer. I sobbed like a baby at this book and had some really difficult convos with family as a result.
You should read How Far the Light Reaches, super good essay collection that compares the author’s experiences as queer nonbinary poc to deep sea creatures. You’d be surprised by how similar they are…
I read Can't Spell Treason Without Tea by Rebecca Thorne this month and really enjoyed it. Sapphic, fantasy, cozy vibes, running away together. It is only available digitally but you might enjoy it!
Currently reading Silver Nitrate by Silva Moreno-Garcia and I cannot put it down. So good 😊 also recommend Will They or Won’t They by Ava Wilder it’s enemies to lovers between 2 actors doing a type of CW show
idk if you’ve heard of the traitor baru cormorant triology it’s an incredible geopolitical fantasy about empire and colonialism and a woman named baru cormorant who would use any means necessary to climb the ladder of this empire to tear it all down for what they did to her home. it is very dark and political and i think you would enjoy it (it’s not fun the ending made me sob)
Your review of Being Mortal reminds me of the same reaction I had to Smoke Gets in Your Eyes & Other Lessons from the Crematory by Caitlin Doughty. I highly recommend you pick it up, as it's really entertaining, educational, and so morbid in places! It strikes me as something you would love. ;)
Listen. Not to be too demanding or dramatic, but I NEED a color coded google sheet with all reviewed books, scores, small blurbs. Every time I go to read a new book I can’t remember any of your recommendations, especially for specific vibes I am feeling. Also need you to be my best friend and dissect every little thing possible with me.
loved this thank you for sharing!! I liked reading "impossible owls" by brian phillips recently--it's an essay collection and I've liked the first couple essays a lot. or alternately one of my favorite books ever is "the thirty names of night" by zeyn joukhadar, which is fiction and about art and grief and community and gender and is really just beautiful
The beginning is so painfully accurate “you get to add 2 or 3 new books to your already 700 book long tbr” I feel seen
i speak from experience lmfaooo
My “want to read” list is over 2,000 😮
Mine is at 1000+ 💀
I’m literally around 700 😂
Called me out
WAKE UP EVERYONE LEXI POSTED
congrats on being FIRST

glad you made this comment because i actually thought KAT WAS NO LONGER WITH US
KAT IS FINE I FOLLOW HER ON LETTERBOXD she’s just not on youtube anymore 💗
Its scary how similar our taste is, I think in an alternate reality we would either be best friends, married, or mortal enemies and I love that
I am a grown ass woman in my 30s with a child but I am FERAL for anything Alice Oseman does. Love their stuff!
OK but why is this me? I am a sucker for Alice Oseman and all of her books. 30 and unapologetic about it
you’re seriously my favorite content creator
stoppp 😭 thank you so much

Helped fill the whole in my booktube that paperbackdreams left and added You, Again and Red Rising to my tbr!

I’m ace and was also very disappointed in loveless! I was so excited for it and the characters just fell flat for me. I dnf’d it like part way in as I just couldn’t get into it
I just love the way u talk abt the books u love and don't as the matter of fact like its just so good and I want to keep listening to it
Your demeanor and wit is a refreshing treat.
your talking speed is literally perfect for my brain.
You're so real for making a whole video of books you want to read this month and not reading a single one
hahahah in fairness that was my ~fall~ tbr and it's just now officially fall... and the shirt is from anthropologie (biiiig black friday sale find)
Not the “it’s fine” meme at the end of the chapter in You Again!? Ahhhhh. How do I know that everything is NOT going to be fine???
first vid of yours ive seen. subscribed at the second book review. im obsessed with you. “from girl to girl and not-girl” is genius
The way I have been watching every single one of your videos, old and new🥰
Omg I read so you’ve been publicly shamed when it came out and loved it. I still think about it to this day. Glad you still found it relevant!
Immediately subscribed after you talked about Red Rising!! HAIL REAP

i just saw that it's a botm pick!!!!! it's SO GOOD lol i am glad it's getting at least some of the attention i think it deserves. i'll be embarrassed if i'm wrong but also i feel like, very confident about this one
Writers and Lovers is The Bomb if you enjoy literary fiction 😍. I loved it, anyhow
The red rising books 4-6 still follows Darrow and some other people. It’s what happens after you win the empire.
I am so happy you loved You, Again! I selected it as my Book of the Month for September. I lo-key hate the cover, but the blurb made me feel like I would love it and would identify with these characters 🤣
Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver was actually really good I highly recommend!
i plan on picking up writers and lovers this month, so glad you liked it :D love uuu
your should read the graceling series and this recommendation has literally no base except for the fact that i am absolutely FERAL for those books omg
i loved those when i was a teenager!!!!
